I just got back from my work meeting. It went well - I did get an extra bonus, but not quite as big to cover the call I got today....

They called for Cat. 1!!!!

Arggg....I have until 5pm tomorrow. I just can't seem to figure this out - we wouldn't be able to pay it all outright, so that makes me think we should say no. But then I imagine being in that wonderful suite for 15 nights with my family.

I think this might give me some levage to make the cruise at least work - my bonus will cover our 2 cat 9's final payment. But still....

Cat. 1......arggg......think of the DIS parties!! I hope someone is still awake to talk me through this!!! Or waking up!
Lisa

OMG. what to do. If you dont mind my asking, how much do they want? I know that I'm the last person to help reason this out. I would jump at the chance, but I would be in hawk up to my eyeballs for years to come.

$10,000 more. ARGG. Where is my 401k paperwork??

My husband just asked how much the blue book is for our van. It is how our kids get to school every day. He said they could just walk. LOVE It that he is thinking about it now!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I know...I mean this is KARMA. Yes, it is more. We currently owe $6,000. We would owe $16,000 (I think - I haven't got the quote from today. Will they honor the 10% on board ship discount? They did for our Jan cruise in Cat. 1 but then they said that was a mistake, but still honored it. I left a message, but she was already gone (East coast time). She said she will hold it until 5pm tomorrow) . That is a heck of a lot more money....argg....

As much as I want to see the inside (and don't get me wrong, as a hand holder I'll be knocking on the door) that is essentially the cost of another Panama Canal, or who knows what on the new ship. I'm not sure that having it would make it twice as much of an experience.

If you had the money sitting around and could really spare it, I think it would be one thing. If it is not readily available, and could be painful later on then I'd make myself pass. As a mother who has 3 kids to send to college to a mother who has 4, 'it wouldn't be prudent'.

Oh the agony...

Very prudent indeed. And I'm not sure where I can sell vital organs.

Oh yes, the agony....

Sure I would love to join your group! I was wondering if I needed to wait another cruise for Palos. Although I read you can come into the bar and sit so I was thinking I could do that too.

So would I have to book the same time and date as you all decide on or would you link my ressie to you and then you book me into yours? I have no idea how the dining thing works as I have never done Palos bookings before.

I'm pming you soon to disucss the details....

Well, Lisa, all I can offer is what my mom always said at times like these: Fifty years from now, will you know the difference?

I remember the first time she said it to me--my brother had called and left a message that he & his long-time girlfriend had gone to Hawaii to get married and we were trying to decide if we should blow the money to fly over there, spur-of-the-moment, and be there for the wedding. In that case, the several hundred dollars (which was a big expense at that time, to be sure, for me anyway) I've never regretted spending. It was probably the first really big spontaneous thing I'd ever done in my life. Glad to say, it wasn't the last!

But I don't mean to imply that the answer is always "Go for it"! I don't know what your situation is. Sometimes the answer is that it would make a big difference (to the worse) to take the plunge. But often for me, the answer is that life is short and I would more likely regret passing up the opportunity than being glad I held back.

As Noel would say, just my thoughts...

He is praying. Ash Wednesday and all!

he is praying for 10K :lmao: :lmao:

I say do it, but I'm not a good person to ask on stuff like this.

I agree with Cheri, life is about time with the people you love doing the stuff you love and remembering it.

I wish now that I had pressed my parents to travel in style when they were younger. My mom will have lots of money left when she is gone. I wish she and my dad had lived a bit of the high life when he was here with her. :sad1:

Sorry, to be sad.

They travelled to lots of places and lots of time just never 1st class, they saved all their lives in case they needed to have it for later. He is gone, there isn't later now.
