I wore little socks from Costco with mine in Dec WDW days and they chewed little holes in the heels of the socks!! :lmao: Oh well, they were comfortable and the socks are replaceable.

Well this seals it for me, I refuse to wear shoes that chew my socks. What could be next, my pigggy toes?:lmao:

Hey, hold on a minute! From a quick research online, it looks as if M&M's were introduced in 1941.

Smarties were first produced in the UK in 1937.

So, please, no more dissing our Smarties! :lmao:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I see you beat me to the defence of the Smarties!

I think if you do a little further research you will find that M&M's were going to be called Smarties too, but the Ce De hard candy (the ones Holly is addicted to;)) was already out and named that, so they had to change the name to introduce it to the US.

glad to hear Amy is safe....and yes, we were boarded! Hey Todd!

Holly - how about chicken noodle or chicken and stars soup? Some mac and cheese....my sickie comfort foods.....!

So my internet connectin is back temporarily. NOt sure how long it will last. I think the problem seems to happen when things freeze outside and we had a slight melt today, but now temps have dropped below freezing, so that's probably what's up. Never had this problem with cable internet, just since I switched to AT&t. Oh well.

I got a call from Tyler's dad on my way to pick him up telling me they're not there. He told me Tyler's had a temp of 104 since yesterday and has a horrible sounding cough. They couldn't get his fever down, no matter what they tried, so they called the doc and the doc said to take him to urgent care. They tested for strep and ear infections and those were negative. He's been there for over 5 hours and his dad is ticked off at how long it's taking. Anyway, I guess Tyler's pretty limp and exhausted and feeling miserable. Poor kid. My kid who NEVER gets sick! So I quick ran up to the store for Tylenol & Motrin and Pedialyte and popsicles. Not sure what to buy since we never have need to use that stuff.

OMG Holly.....poor Tyler. I would be upset that his dad didn't call you when the temp spiked and he took him to the hospital. I would want to know if my kid was in the hospital for any reason. Good thing it was your turn to pick him up so that you could find out.

I hope Tyler gets rid of it as quickly as it came. I hope he feels good soon.

Ok can someone please tell me where the calendar is on the website with all the dates on it is? for some reason (on my end I believe) the website takes about 5 minutes per page to come up so I am frustrated at this point trying to find it!

Thanks in advance

OH, I'm not upset at all. He only took him there since redi-care isn't open on weekends and the doc told him to to get the fever down. He just called me back, they're on their way here, he tested positive for Influenza type A, whatever that is. Flu I know, but have to google. I hope it's not the throwing up kind because we don't have experience with him puking. NOt a fun night here tonight I'd imagine. I have no experience handling this stuff so wish us luck.

(But it doesn't make it any less painful while you're apart. :sad1: )

Just think of your upcoming 22nd wedding anniversary ... :lovestruc

Thank you SEVEN.

Holly sounds like the flu bug to me. You can alternate tylenol and motrin to bring his fever down. plenty of liquids. Treat the symptoms is about all you can do for flu.

OOOOhhhhhhh OK, poor Tyler, betcha he's feeling miserable. Give him lots of hugs and kisses from all of us when you see him. Sounds like it's going to be a long night for the two of you. Don't forget to book your ressies if you have a chance tonight.

There will always be someone on the boards.....so come here with questions or just to vent if you need to. We'll be here with you so you're not alone thru this.

This is exactly what Daniel had. I hope they don't put him in the hospital. Hold him tight when you get him back

Marshmallow with caramel (butter scotch, not whiskey scotch!)wrapped around it. Yum!!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Reading our newspaper today, there was an article about two young men in our town who are currently serving in the Peace Corps in Panama City, Panama. Periodically, they report about their experiences. I thought you might find this one interesting:

“A little boy lost a tooth this week. I asked him what he did with his tooth. He threw it on the roof. Apparently, the tooth fairy equivalent here is Ratoncito. After asking around, I discovered every house has a Ratoncito. He’s basically a little mouse with great big ears that he uses to fly, Dumbo style. They say he’s kind of a burnt-orange color and only comes out at night.

When you lose a tooth you sing this song and throw the tooth on the roof. “Ratoncito, Ratoncito take my little tooth and leave me a new big tooth.” This rhymes in Spanish. After their explanation, I told them that in the United States, the tooth fairy takes your tooth from under your pillow and leaves a gift. The locals thought this was hilarious and stupid. Like flying mice make perfect sense. “

We sort of believe in one that runs the "World".... :earsboy:

I think they are Ugly. But...I'm gonna try a pair. resistance is futile...

If you have a store nearby that sells them... try them on... I prefer the Mary Jane's ones - they were more comfy for me (I'm dreaming of the new MJ's with Minnie colors... Pink for me!!!)
