Anyone read 'The Path Batween the Seas'? I am trying, but it is a hard slog. I imagine some may really love it. I am thinking of skipping to the building part and see if that is a help, but I really am thinking I am going to give up on it.

I got it right before Xmas, but it's huge, I haven't even opened it yet....I was thinking should I just take in on board????but hearing it's not such an easy read makes me want to glance and decide, if no good, too heavy to lug on board.

also got a good kids book, The Panama Canal, by Elizabeth Mann

Marilyn,

Carol and I have both read it. Yes there are parts of it that drag but overall it is a very interesting book so don,'t give up on it. Lots of details on the hows and whys the canal was started and finished. I would say most of the stuff on the French part of it you could just blow by.

Doug & Carol

thank you for the comment, I'll break into it today. Good reading to wait for ressie time.:lmao:

Deb, on the croc flips, I have both the Athens, which are all rubber, and two pair of the Capri, which have a fabric upper. I prefer the Capri to the Athens just easier on the toes. I also have two pair of Cleo and really like them, but my feet swell more in them when at WDW from all the walking, but they will be great on the ship.

I am going to check out the Adara when I get to MCO in May.

Nan

I'm going to have to look up that kids book...I got my kids the book " A true book Panama" by Dana Meachen Rau it is all about Panama and the culture but it has a great section on the panama canal and its easy reading for the kids with great pictures.

How fun a girls day out...I love those:goodvibes

Is anyone doing the De Palm Beach in Aruba? Or does anyone have any info on it?

I don't know. I think Jackie may have said something about that beach. I don't know if that was the one cruisecritic didn't like that much ...it was on the first thread I think so can't look it up:confused3

Krisann- this might be helpful...they state that if you just want a beach day Aruba is easy to set up yourself.

I'm torn about Aruba but think we've found a reasonable pirate boat snorkel with lunch and hope we have time for the beach after, we'll book ourselves. There is a lady on cruisecritic Aruba board that makes it sound like a beach day is very easy and inexpensive to do on your own. I think it might be the best snorkel stop on the cruise and our family should take advantage of it. I know there are not many places there that will do day rooms. If you find that the Hyatt has a decent rate, please post.

Off to get the hair "revived".

I have an incrediable amount of energy this morning. Already started a pot of homemade soup and did a load of laundry and paid bills. I'll thinking I might clean out closets and dresser drawers when I get back and get a head start on spring cleaning.

Sandy

Whew! that was a close call. I just got back home and want a nap. I'm glad I didn't dump dresser drawers before I left.:rotfl2:

that happens to me I get driven to get so much done but if I start a big project and run out of steem....no fun:sad2: I wish I had as much energy as you did earlier.:)

Oh I'm so glad to hear this PJ.....it makes me think I'm going to love them when I can wear them. I know I have the Capri and I don't remember what the other one is. It's not the Athens......so it's gotta be a Cleo or Adara??? Not sure. But now I can't wait to put them on and go walking.

I'll probably still wear my pink tink slippers on the boat. You can catch them on after dinner at night and first thing waking up in the morning. Usually during the day I'm wearing flip flops......now they'll be crocs. Thanks PJ!

I don't know if anyone on have any info on this but since I live in AZ we get lots of promo ads for DL right now they are running 2 days free at the parks with 3 day purchase...do they offer anything like that at WDW or is it only in state people. We would like to hit both WDW and DL parks on this trip and since you could use magic your way tix at both I would rather purchase WDW tix...would like any promo available though:upsidedow

Hi Jackie.....just wanted to know how Peg was doing after losing Marquis? Is she ok? Give her our hugs and lots of love. Tell her to get a new baby horse and that will keep her so busy she won't have time for tears!

She's doing pretty well. She was very busy at work this week getting her guys ready for their company trip to Cabo (the one she got to go down there and do research for last summer). She still has a little trouble talking about it, as I'm sure she will for some time. She still has Jose's mare to love on for now, so that will help.

Can't wait to meet you all!!! We're PIF too!!!

Welcome to the PIF Club! :thumbsup2

Have you or has anyone ever tried the sandals that crocs has? I bought two pairs after summer so I can't wear them until this spring/summer/cruise. I just want to know if you think they are as comfortable as the croc shoes. This will be my first attempt at wearing crocs because I think the shoes are ugly. The sandals look nice though. I hope they feel as good.

Yes, I'm talking about the flip flops. I'm glad you have friends that like them. That's encouraging. I don't have a problem with anything between my toes.

I still care what my shoes look like. Mostly I wear slippers....sometimes even out of the house. ssssshhhhhhhhhh......don't tell anyone I do that. Oh, except that I do it on the ship too so I guess you'll find out firsthand. Ha!

I LOVE MY ATHENS. I have two pairs right now of the lime green with fushia soles...they ARE the official DIS flip-flop. Look smashing with OPI's Flashbulb Fushai nail polish! ::yes::

Take a look at the "Cleo" sandals. I have a black pair of those I wear to work and love them too.
