No other excursions for us. We will be doing everything else on our own. Less $, and so many of the excursions we might have been interested in doing with DCL won't allow DS7. We're doing zipline in PV on our own because their age limit is 6. Aruba will be a beach day. We might get a room at the Hyatt there if they don't charge too many points (DH is Diamond level with them, so we have lots of points, but don't want to waste them with a dayroom if they're going to charge too much.) I haven't decided what to do in Acapulco. We're not very interested in seeing Acapulco, but after several days at sea, I know we will want to get off the ship.

V-What are you guys doing in Acapulco? I think you said you were doing your excursions on your own as well. I'm looking for ideas.

Gydell is going to be the pied piper of Acapulco and a group is following her to LaPerla to watch the cliff divers. I think there is some question on the timing but we should be able to catch a show. I think the afternoon arrival makes a beach excursion a little tough.

I'm torn about Aruba but think we've found a reasonable pirate boat snorkel with lunch and hope we have time for the beach after, we'll book ourselves. There is a lady on cruisecritic Aruba board that makes it sound like a beach day is very easy and inexpensive to do on your own. I think it might be the best snorkel stop on the cruise and our family should take advantage of it. I know there are not many places there that will do day rooms. If you find that the Hyatt has a decent rate, please post.

I'm traveling with my DH, David, any my DS Erik (age 16) and DD Alison, (age 13) This is our 2nd cruise. We did the Western Caribbean last May. In fact, we booked this cruise while on that one, exactly one year to the day before this one will start!

We had more fun than we could ever have imagined, and CANNOT WAIT to get back to the Magic!

wow, did ya get the 10% booking credit on board , way to go:thumbsup2

Yes, please share the zip line info! I have twin daughters who are 7 and we too would love to do it!! Thanks for sharing any info you have!!!

Can't wait to meet you all!!! We're PIF too!!!

I think they are Ugly. But...I'm gonna try a pair. resistance is futile...

You will become a convert, they are the most comfortable shoes ever. I even wore mine for our 14 hour disney park blitz in July, way more comfy than running shoes.

Anyone read 'The Path Batween the Seas'? I am trying, but it is a hard slog. I imagine some may really love it. I am thinking of skipping to the building part and see if that is a help, but I really am thinking I am going to give up on it.

Welcome! I have boy/girl 7 year old twins, hopefully our kids will make friends in the club.

I had my sons room painted today so I have been busy putting his furniture back in and some of his toys. Have to finish tomorrow and finally decide for sure what excursions I want to book. Will be nice to get that out of the way. Yet here I am 3am and awake!

Our house was being preped for paint on Monday. We spent our morning cleaning up the crap. A big pile in the driveway to haul away. It was pressure washed, Monday-wed painted :goodvibes

Have you or has anyone ever tried the sandals that crocs has? I bought two pairs after summer so I can't wear them until this spring/summer/cruise. I just want to know if you think they are as comfortable as the croc shoes. This will be my first attempt at wearing crocs because I think the shoes are ugly. The sandals look nice though. I hope they feel as good.

amesmom might have booked this one, I posted it before and she asked some questions about it.

My DH and oldest DS did this tour when he was 9. We chose it because it reportedly had the lowest starting towers (because it goes over river beds). They had a great time. I thought we would take our thrill ride loving twins on it this trip but DH wasn't comfortable with the idea and wants them to be a little bigger. We're swimming with the dolphins and sea lions instead.

the flip flops? I have a pair I've never really worn, I don't like things between my toes. I have friends who have them and like them.

When you wear crocs you throw all fashion sense out the window. For the megadays and on planes I even wear them with little socks, shhhhhh. As I get older I care less about looks than comfort, which is apparent.

John just woke up.....we'll have coffee together and catch up......later we're doing the lifeboat tee shirts.....had to wait and get the proper paper.....we had the light shirt iron ons, but needed the dark shirt ones. We just picked some of them up.....so now we can put them on the shirts, which we have had for a while......then we'll mail them out to those few that are in our boat and to nan who is officially an honorary member for letting us use her shower.

Anyone who wants to make a shirt can copy the graphic from the website and do an iron on tee. We're doing it on a violet colored tee, but you can use it for any color tee that you want.

For the newcomers, some of us are only a Guarantee without an assigned room and are getting a bit tired of it so we have a standing joke going that we will be in the lifeboats onboard......hence the lifeboat crew tee shirts.

Thanks Deb & John, I'll have to go buy my

for my cruise supplies :thumbsup2

Marilyn,

Carol and I have both read it. Yes there are parts of it that drag but overall it is a very interesting book so don,'t give up on it. Lots of details on the hows and whys the canal was started and finished. I would say most of the stuff on the French part of it you could just blow by.

Goodmorning all, I don't have time to catch up on the past 30 post so let me know if I missed anything important. Today is the big day the princess Valentine's tea party with 6 little 4.5 year olds. They are all wearing princess dresses, it will be a craft and princess tea. 80 degrees today! We made little heart tea cakes, heart decorated cakes, they are making red glitter apples for snow white, fingernails, princess lip balm and much more fun stuff. It should be adorable. Snow white was trying to come, but our time was too close to another booking (my fault as my mother is flying in from the east) We already have next year's party booked with the princesses from Disneyland. So, I'm off to make nametags, talk to you guys tonight after the booking. :wizard:

Pictures Kelly we need to see the pictures, sounds like such fun :goodvibes

Yes, I'm talking about the flip flops. I'm glad you have friends that like them. That's encouraging. I don't have a problem with anything between my toes.

I still care what my shoes look like. Mostly I wear slippers....sometimes even out of the house. ssssshhhhhhhhhh......don't tell anyone I do that. Oh, except that I do it on the ship too so I guess you'll find out firsthand. Ha!

The Smarties one always bugs my mother. She is a Canadian who is now living in the US. Our Smarties are the ones in the link above, however, what she gets when she asks for Smarties are what we call "Rockets".

So now it begs the question - which "smarties" does Holly love? :goodvibes

The real ones, in your picture, not the fake UK m&m knock offs.

I'm a Smartie Queen as well.

I think we have the country covered...

Michelle East Coast Smartie Queen

Holly Mid-West Smartie Queen

Nan West Coast Smartie Queen

We are on the cruise having a meet, kinda like the party of nine...(POC III) (pieces of eight) we are the party of three, Smarties Party of Three :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I feel a t-shirt coming on....

Reading our newspaper today, there was an article about two young men in our town who are currently serving in the Peace Corps in Panama City, Panama. Periodically, they report about their experiences. I thought you might find this one interesting:

“A little boy lost a tooth this week. I asked him what he did with his tooth. He threw it on the roof. Apparently, the tooth fairy equivalent here is Ratoncito. After asking around, I discovered every house has a Ratoncito. He’s basically a little mouse with great big ears that he uses to fly, Dumbo style. They say he’s kind of a burnt-orange color and only comes out at night.

When you lose a tooth you sing this song and throw the tooth on the roof. “Ratoncito, Ratoncito take my little tooth and leave me a new big tooth.” This rhymes in Spanish. After their explanation, I told them that in the United States, the tooth fairy takes your tooth from under your pillow and leaves a gift. The locals thought this was hilarious and stupid. Like flying mice make perfect sense. “

Molly has a story book about customs around the world. This one made me think it was really weird. A rat, gross... Mickey Mouse, okay he is a mouse not a rat.
