You beat us - we've had our phone and plans since 2003!

I don't know how long I have had mine, but it does not take photos or do anything else except make phone calls. DS works for Verizon and constantly tries to get me to upgrade, but I love my phone. I dropped it from the Jumpin' Jellyfish ride at DCA on the cement and it flew into several pieces. I picked them up when I got off the ride, put it back together and it worked! DS and his boss were having a discussion about whose mom had the oldest phone. He called me and asked me for the model number......we won! :rotfl: :lmao: Oldest phone in the Verizon network per our son! :lmao: Dennis on the other hand has the Treo and I do not think it would survive a ride on Jumpin' Jellyfish with me! :lmao:

You know, it's a good idea about the see's. Maybe I'll get some see's or some ghiradelli choc. to give to the kids club people and our waitstaff and room stewards. Last time I gave them magnets of SF. They'll probably like chocolate better.

That is really good! I drop my phone all the time. Mostly on purpose cause I want a new one! At least a new reason to get a new one!

Looks like we are leaning towards POFQ. My aunt wants to get a flavour of New Orleans, so this looks to be the ticket. The boat ride to DTD might be nice after sitting on the plane on all day too.

We had thought about ditching the DCL transfer and renting a car but I found it was just so much easier using them last time, plus the girls really like taking the Disney bus with the Disney video on it. There is something about putting on our bags on the plane in Vancouver and not having to see them until we get to our hotel room, and then having someone pick them up to take to the cruise ship right from our hotel room and once again not worrying about them until we get off the ship.

Are there any negatives to staying at POFQ? What about bus ride times to the parks? Line ups to get on a bus? I noted there is only 1 bus stop at POFQ, does the bus service there as well as POR or does each "Port Orleans" resort get it's own bus "system"?

It doesn't matter what resort you stay at, if you are waiting for a bus all the other resort buses show up before yours :rotfl:

POFQ is the most compact of all the moderate hotels (and for this reason it is my favorite) . There is only one bus stop for POFQ and 3-5 for each of the other mods. IIRC the first stop for PO buses is FQ.

There is a food court at FQ but not a sit down restaurant - for that you have to go to POR but is is a nice 15 minute walk along the river. The boat ride to DTD is very pleasant and relaxing.

The downside to PO is it is not near any of the parks so you have a 20 minute ride to any of the parks. CS is close to AK and CB is near EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.

Seems you and are are Sees buddies...I just mentioned that I got some milk carmel patties tonight, then I read your post :lmao:

You can put scotchmallows on your candied yams instead of marshmallows and they are very, very yummy!!

Steph, I watched lipstick jungle I will give it a second try. It has made it to my taping schedule.

For all you crocs lovers:

crocsminnielimegreen.jpg

I LOVE IT!!!

Hmm might be good to butter them up at the start of the cruise....I am bringing some Jelly Bellys from the factory here in town.

Hey...watch out for that 50 lbs in your luggage!!! BTW.. I like the sour ones...

Bring the flops! I love those and they are so cheap! Whenever I visit my sister in Roseville I make her take me over there! Love the Jelly Belly FLops!

so we can sleep tonight (Fri) but i need to be on the pc at midnight tomorrow night (sat).

Yup...I'm going to have to whole board to myself!!! MY turn to talk to myself!!!

I as introduced to these when I was in South Africa with my Grandparents...I came home with a few cases, they did not last long....while I do not like chocolate, I love sweets! and I fell in love with fruit gums...these were circular in a sleeve.....EPCOT has had a ban on them forever (they had a ban on Smarties for a long time when I was younger)....and they finally got them in but they were in a box and fruit shaped....which hey, they tasted the same and were devoured before I left the pavilion.

I love the Love Hearts that you get in England... can't get them here...

omg, I just got a new cell phone....have not changed my plan since 2000

Yeah...they've invented electricity too, V...

Oh yeah, keep me on the edge on this, huh? Is someone going away to camp?

I was thinking maybe someone had already been to camp.

V...if it is a Souvineer... CAN I HAVE YOUR CHAMPAGNE????

We're going on the WB Repo cruise and I just found my way here. It all looks like fun, but there's so much jargon and so many "inside jokes" here that I don't know where to start!

From what I can see most of this forum is about meets that are planned for the cruise, and although we'd love to meet all of you, I'm also looking for advice/tips/etc. Is there another forum for questions/ information about the cruise itself, or is this a one stop shop?

Failing that, is there a place I should start to try to "catch up" with all that's going on?

Thanks!

~Tracy

Talk about an emotional rollacoster,
DH just said we should just go.

I don't know....I have to get on-line later as all 4 boys are in the room and I just snuck on to post this... I think I might need Prozac!
Lisa

TAKE IT... RUN!!! BESIDES... PROZAC WON'T WORK FOR 3 WEEKS... TRY RUM... pirate:

Hello all!!

I am just catching up with everything from the past few days. I sure hope everyone is able to work out the details and we all can celebrate PIF tomorrow.

I have never tried the CROCs so I don't see what the fuss is all about. Am I really missing out here guys?? I think they look kinda weird

I am trying to think of a special gift to bring to our favorite servers and cruise staff. So far ... nothing!! What comes to mind when you guys think of SoCal?

:tinker: Karen

I had looked at those, PJ. But he would need to try them on. His poor feet have taken such a beating over the years of just standing on them that his joints by the big toes have spread. One of the thing he likes about the regular crocs is the width and room in the toe area. But if I can find those locally and have him try them they would be perfect for him! I will check at Nordstoms which is the only store in our area that I know that carries crocs.

Ask away ... you will get more advice/tips than you can imagine. ;)

Welcome tracy. There is info on the first page of this thread for anyone interested. Tell us about little about yourself...

I'm steph and I'll be travelling with my 9yo daughter. It's our second disney cruise. First was last summer in the med. I am impatiently waiting for my vacation to begin! I'm ready right now!

Well thanks! Okay, does anyone know what the schedule of themed nights is going to be on this trip? Please forgive me if I'm re-hashing old territory! I'm trying to figure out when to book our Palo reservation and I don't want to miss anything special! (I know, along with everyone else!)

Lisa, I told Paul and he said, his practice is off and we're still going. Not that it helps, but it's the time of year. Every year this has been the case for him. Think back to when your DH was an employee and ask him if the had busy time in Jan and Feb, I bet not. From a corporate place, none of my clients, CEOs want any legal at the start of the year. It's just that way. All of them reviewing past years numbers and going DOH. It will get better. I hope you can come....

I think they're all off doing their taxes right now... at least he's not an accountant...he'd be comatose by the time the cruise came around...

Ok my TA just confirmed what KrisannB said.

Guess I'm switching from a Value resort to a moderate. Just after my wife conivinced me we should stay at the Value resort because that was the one thing we were disappointed in with the CBR - it never felt like we were IN Disney at the hotel. We wanted to feel like we were in Disney the whole time.

So which moderate does everyone recommend? POR, POFQ or CS? Remember that I am travelling with a 6 and 3 year old and we don't really plan on spending much time in the hotel, but will be going from morning til night at the parks.

POFQ or POR... the first is nice and compact but you may be able to get availability at POR...

If not... considder taking a cab over to one of those resorts to get the busses from there. I've heard of people doing that. I say go with a moderate... the Values are SO big - I'd make it easy for that morning.

I saw Easter candy last week because I almost bought some Reeces peanut butter eggs! ;)

Peeps are out... last year I got some green ones and sent them to my nephew for St. Pats day...:thumbsup2

So wheres all my west coasters....r we tired tonight?

Trying to figure out why I can't consistently retrieve my dcl reservation.

I have deleted cookies, reinstalled java, closed and reopend browser (IE) but am having no luck. I was able to access it with no issues until about 1 month ago. AAAAHHHH!

I will figure this out.

It is me and DH - Darrell in our traveling party.

I don't know the schedule, but I know it's been posted on here. About 40 pages back or so...sorry I can't be more help. There is someone on her that will answer for you, so just keep checking back.
