Max Pass question

I have the disneyland app on my phone and want to use max pass on our trip next week. My mom and my kids are going with us. I have always used my mom's cc for our dinning reservations and wanted to use it for max pass as she is paying for the trip. It won't let me update the card. I have used her card on my disney experience for years and never had a problem. And I believe I have used her card to guarantee dinning as well but it won't let me do it for max pass. Is it because it is a different name then mine? It is really frustrating cuz I really didn't want to have to use my card since she is paying for the trip.

Anyone know?

You won't be able to buy max pass until you have scanned your ticket at the turnstiles.

Once you've scanned your tickets to get into the park, go to "get fast pass", at that time it will ask how many people and will give you the option to buy it with the cc on file. If your mom's card is saved in the app, you will just need to know the CVC number on the back of the card. Once you get in the park, it takes less than 30 seconds to set up.

Thanks actually I knew I couldn't buy it I just wanted to update the card on file and it wouldn't let me do that but I have since figured it out. Her card just renewed and apparently she has a new CVC. So I went back in and changed that and it worked. I just didn't want to have to mess with entering the card while we were trying to get in and go on rides. Thanks

I agree that the app can be very temperamental. I've been trying to update my phone number with it and it always seems to default back to the old number.

Anyways, I'm glad you were able to figure out what the issue was.

No worries LOL. I don't think I made it very clear either. We were just there the beginning of the month and I had her card saved in my phone and on disney.com from mymagic or whatever it is called lol (DW). I have to say I was hesitant about the magic bands etc but they have it SO much better. Everything is set up on your band and you just scan it. SO much easier. DL has a LONG way to go. It seems like you could go on and just hit purchase but it gave me a lot of grief. It wouldn't take her card OR mine. Wouldn't scan and you still have to take a pic of the ride photos and then copy the number down. Major pain. At DW you just walk thru the line and it does it. SO much nicer. I get they can't use them for entry purposes but it would sure be nice if you could use them in the parks. Anyway thanks so much!

Yeah, I'm in that minority that would love to have the Magic Band option at DL too.

Been spoiled by having that convenience of just tap the Mickey head and everything is good. I had to remind myself that I wasn't at WDW and the ride photos weren't going to be added automatically and I needed to take photos and add them later.
