MAW Trip of a Lifetime....1st time to WDW! -Beach Update!

That sounds like a lot of fun... that will make it special for all the kids...Kaleb on his wish and the others with their bdays....I'll be the only one with out a button...but I get to watch them have their fun and when they have it I have it too! LOL

You will have your "my first trip to disney" button!!!!:goodvibes

I just saw your new awesome signature/Ticker on another thread and popped over to say...You computer whizzes amaze me...:worship: I LOVE IT!!!

One time when I was there for my birthday I got a free churro!!!! lol...wear your buttons loud and proud!!! Just getting a lot of Happy Birthday's was fun. We were in line for Buzz Lightyear (and it was New Years Eve -thats my bday) and it was super crowded and the line twisted all around. A cast member spotted my button and climbed up on one of the planters there and had the whole line sing happy birthday to me!!! Also, the dapper dan's saw my button when I was watching them on mainstreet and they pulled me out of the crowd and then sang happy birthday to me!!! So fun!!! Make sure you write their names on their buttons!!! They will do that for you!!!!!;)

YUUUMMMM, he loved the popcorn, but he would have LOVED  the churro! We didn't know about the first time buttons when we went our first time; however, it was great for him to be recognized for a change, he has been an amazing Big Brother and deserved to have the focus on him for once. He said getting all of the BD wishes was the best! :goodvibes

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY WENDY :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: One of my good friends was born on New Year's Day as well and she says there is always a party, althogh not necessarily for her. I hope your day was incredibly special!!! :wizard: I LOVE how so many sang to you, how AMAZING!!! Thank you for sharing the stories with us, makes me smile. :yay:

To tell the truth I love churros... and haven't had one for 7 years! Yes siblings need a little recognition too....during all the illness they are affected and have difficulties that sometimes are forgotten in the hustle and bustle of drs and surgeries etc.....
Happy :wizard:Belated BDay too Wendy....!

Well, I found out that a nice bakery is a little out of my budget... I can't see paying $75 for a 6" cake + delivery. So.... for the birthday cake on our trip... well... I think I'll make the kids cakes to have on my older sons b-day the day before we leave for Omaha. I'm thinking a small penguin one for Nathan (he and Kaleb love penguins) and a princess cake for Zoe. Kaleb will have a cake for his wish party prior to this so I think those ends are covered.... I might order a cake for our Crystal Palace Res to celebrate everyone's birthday's.....since my hubby will be included too.

On another note...my son Nathan had a boyscout Pinewood Derby this past weekend. He came in third in his den... pretty good. Kaleb couldn't participate this year because he has to be in 1st grade to be a cubscout. He would have been in 1st this year, but we held him back because of all the hospital stays and health issues that interfered with last year. Since he has an August bday, it wasn't a bad choice. So next year, he will get to make one. So here are a few photos from the derby...

Nathan's did get a few bump ups.... first the spray painting went well, but I thought it would be cool for him to use a stencil and handpaint some red flames....well it bled becuase he applied it too heavily. So I spray painted some green over it and it looked interesting. Then my husband decided to put weights in it and drilled a little too far...actually went through the top of the car!:scared1: so we had to do a quick repair... then when he weighed it...he forgot to add the wheels into the equation...ooopss!:sad2: so when we weighed in we were overweight:rolleyes1... a little bit later we were able to get underweight by taking one weight out and adding some others. So it was finally in and ready to go and did very well....compared to his time last year.. he didn't place close. My hubby did sand the wheels and nail axels some, and I think that really helped....

One thing I have been wondering about in regards to Kaleb ....
Another boy, that has the same disease as Kaleb, had a double nephrectomy on Mon (I'm glad Kaleb didn't have to).... he is on dialysis until his transplant (and went on right after Kaleb did last year)... since they took his kidneys out he hasn't been having BP issues..
So considering this example... I was curious because I thought that when Kaleb had a native kidneys (which he still has) are interfering with his BP still..... I'm going to keep an eye on his BP a little better than I have been (I've gotten a little lazy about it) and ask the nephrologist when we see her in May.... I'm just curious about this.... it could be his weight, since he has gained weight with being on steroids...
It's amazing how the body works, and how things are so intertwined...so balance...

Just finally caught up!:surfweb: Your pictures a beautiful and your writing is fantastic!!;) It's great that you have been able to see the positive in everything and not let the negative bring you down. :littleangel:You are so right when you say GOD was there and got you through it all.... He has a plan!!

Can't wait to continue reading along!popcorn::

When you wrote it was MINUS 10 degrees on out PTR I went :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1: YIKES, I would be a frozen popsicle! I do NOT like cold and honestly would not cope well in weather like that for very long, I am a southern girl...I love the idea of having one celebratory cake at Crystal Palace, I am sorry that it was so expensive to try the special bakery...$75 (PLUS delivery!) for a cake is also :scared1:...if you change your mind, there is always Walmart :rolleyes1

CONGRATULATIONS to Nathan!!!!! WOOHOO, :woohoo::woohoo: that is big! My guys always LOVED the Pinewood Derby, it was so much fun and such good natured camaraderie...one year they did the boat regatta instead and I missed the cars! They also did Father/Cakes...those were awesome as well. Boy Scouts can be a lot of fun, I know Kaleb is looking forward to participating next year.

STAY WARM!!!! :joker:(It is 32 degrees here today and I am COLD....brrrrrrr for you)!!

Nathan was wanted to at least win one time down the track and to come in third was a treat for him. He is like me in that I never won things or was the top on anything so this was great for him...and I'm looking forward to doing two cars next year....Nathan wants to do a penguin one and Kaleb probably will too....
Yeah I think it'll be either walmart or have a cake during one of the meals at Disney... when I looked at the photo of the cake I was thinking about I thought... I could make that cake for less than $6...and I know that there are other costs but not that much....
And warmer weather is supposed to be here today! Yay.... I'm glad January is over! I'm just glad our cows down have their calves this time of year like a lot of farmers and ranchers...I think they are insance to calve this time of year....imagine being born outside in 0 degree weather! Even if you are born with a fur coat! Thanks for posting!

The little things are usually the last drop of water in my cup, making me overflow...I so relate! God IS Faithful and full of grace, what a blessing. :goodvibes

I am so happy Nathan came in third to help him feel special, he so deserved that! :yay::banana::yay::banana::yay: The penguin car(s) will be great! I wish I could figure out how to mail a cake to you down there, if I lived in Orlando I would bake one and bring it to you!

I am with you, I wouldn't want to bring a calf into the world in zero degree weather...makes me cold just to think about it. Stay warm!!! :grouphug::grouphug:

One of my Disboutiquer friends has a daughter who lives in Orlando and works at Disney!! She asked her daughter for us about birthday cakes. She said that the Publix markets in the kissimee area have the BEST CAKES!! She said that when they have staff parties, if the disney bakers dont bak the cake, they get it from Pubilx. I know you wanted small bakery, but, she said that this is better. She also said you can call ahead of time and order them!!!She also said she'd be happy to pick it up for you if you need help!! :wizard:

Yikes, thats expensive for the cake. We are used to spending a bit more on cakes and specialty items because with our daughters allergy to milk and so, we can't just get grocery store cakes and desserts. BUT, 75$ for a 6 inch cake is a little extreme. Have you shopped around at other places? Or like Judy said, maybe even Wally-Mart.

What are your exact dates? I know its in 2-ish months, but I must have missed the dates somewhere along the way. :)

We are going April 18-24.... just in time for easter and three birthdays!:upsidedow

I also have to realize that this Disney Trip is a wonderful gift in and of itself...and I think that no matter where the cake comes from or if we have it...it'll be special I appreciate the help and will be checking in to Publix...;)

I LOVE the Disney Precious Moments! It is sooooo cute! Thanks for posting it here!

My pleasure! :flower3: I collect Precious Moments (Or I used to, when times were better...I have quite a few and just love their little tiny faces).

I love Wendy's suggestion about Publix as well. If you choose that route, definitely let the friend's daughter help you out! I know whatever you choose to do, it will be wonderful...after all, Magic happens at Disney all of the time!
