Hey all. I am a mom to 3 children, 2 boys and a girl. My last 2 children have a severe form of epilepsy called Doose/ Myoclonic-Astatic Epilepsy Syndrome. They have both been granted wishes. My daughter has chosen and been granted her wish to see the princesses and go to Cinderella's castle!! She is beyond excited.
We are scheduled to go Nov 6-12 and stay at GKTW village and they have booked the big package at Bippity Boppity Boutique!! This is all I knwo so far.
Here are my questions so far?
1) My son swam with dolphins & we stayed at a beautiful place called Caribe Royal in a full apt type suite. I am wondering if it would be better to stay here than GKTW. My concerns are all the stimulation at GKTW tiring my 2 out & triggering seizures with all the activity & stim they will already get at WDW! Also, GKTW seems so far from everything. When we stayed at the Caribe we were able to use taxis and towncars to travel.
Any thoughts???
2) Where is best place to do dinner/ breakfast with the princesses? MAW is not booking that for us, we are on our own so need to know best place to go!!!
3) they are both on special therapeutic diets and cannot have ANY sugar and very few carbs....suggestions on what to do? Where to eat? who to contact?
Thanks for any tips you can provide! We are so very excited!

Welcome to the DIS boards :wave2: and Hooray for your Wish Trip!! :yay::dance3::yay: Get ready for some magical experiences!!pixiedust:

I am so happy that your daughter will get her wish to see the princesses princess: and go to Cinderella’s Castle!!! Hooray for wishes that come true.:goodvibes

Okay now for you questions:

1) Where to stay!?! :confused3
Of course this question depends on the needs and desires of each family. I can share my own experiences and maybe that will help you. When we were planning my daughter’s wish trip my first thought was to ask to stay at a Disney property. We had stayed at the Disneyland hotels before and that was such a magical experience I wanted to repeat that. Well then I started to read about Give Kid the World and I was hooked. For our family we are so glad that we stayed at Give Kids the World. In fact, the one regret we have is that we didn’t spend more time there. After staying at Give Kids the World it was quite clear to us that it was not just a neat place to stay, but it was also one of the main attractions of the wish trip. princess::cheer2:pirate: As far as over stimulation goes from my perspective Give Kids the World has similar stimulating events and circumstances that you would come across at a Disney hotel. It is not as overly stimulating as the parks can be. The crowds at Give Kids the World are much smaller and the environment is not assaulting to the senses. There are lots of peaceful places you could retreat to in order to give your kids some down time. Your other concern was about being far away from the parks. It was a short drive to the parks and Make a Wish rented a car for us to use the entire week so we didn’t have an issue with that. What helped me the most to make this decision was reading lots of trip reports, maybe that will help you as well.

2) Where to go for character dining!?!
For this I would recommend Cinderella’s Royal Table. princess: This is where we choose for my daughters character dining. It is located in Cinderella’s Castle at the Magic Kingdom right in FantasyLand!! I think this would be especially magical for you since your daughter wished to see the Princesses and go to Cinderella’s Castle. In my trip report at the bottom of this post you can find pictures of my family’s character dining on our Magic Kingdom day. My 1st post on page 1 has a table of contents so you can quickly find it.

Here is the Disney website with information about Cinderella’s Royal Table:

3) Diet Restrictions
If you do stay at Give Kids the World the main restaurant is buffet style so that should help and the other restaurant, Katie's Kitchen is sponsored by Boston Market and carries some of the stuff the serve at their restaurants. For this issue I am sure that Give Kids the World would be able to accommodate a special diet, since they have all types of kids who visit with all sorts of different dietary needs. Also if you stay at Give Kids the World you will have a full kitchen and Walmart just a short drive away so you will have that option as well. If you want to see pictures of the villa I have them in my trip report on our first day at Give Kids the World.

I hope that help!! Let me know if you have any question!! I would be happy to help you plan the most Magical Trip ever!!! :grouphug:

Happy Planning!!! party::jumping1:

When my daughter (she was 7) had her make a wish trip to the world we stayed at GKTW and loved it. She even wanted to spend a day there instead of going to a park. Its a great place for the kids (ice cream for breakfest) the staff knows how to work with special kids. I would recommend it! :)
