Matt's March, 2018 Birthday party in the Adventureland Suite at the Disneyland Hotel

This is a excerpt from my March, 2018 Matt's Disneyland 40th Birthday Celebration trip report. I decided to focus on doing a separate review of the Adventureland Suite outside of the main trip report so people would get a chance to see it on its own (well mostly.. there will be some Trip report in here).

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Joe for taking most of the pics for the first part of this review. He got most of the suite before my kids had done a number on it and was gracious enough to photograph my birthday celebration. Many thanks friend!!

This story starts at 1:15PM on Friday, March 23rd. We were sitting at Trader Sam's finishing up our lunch on the patio and I received the text that our room was ready. We finished up our second Uh Oa and headed across the bridge over towards the Coffee House to meet up with Joe and Theresa and Ian and Ali. They were thoroughly engaged with Minnie, Chip, and Dale when we rolled up.

The girls quickly directed their attention to Ian and Ali. They just love those kids..

Where were we going? Why the Adventure Tower I had just checked out of not but an hour prior..

This time however, the elevator didn't stop on floor 5, however went all the way up to 11. This suite is directly across the hall from the room we stayed in back in 2015 for our 9-night, 10-day trip. One of these days I'll finish up that trip report...

I had met my VIP cast member down in the lobby, and she and I took an elevator up together as the rest of my party had taken the prior two elevators with our ample children/strollers. She let us in and started to explain the amenities. She didn't get very far as my daughters had watched every last piece of content on the suite a million or so times on YouTube and took to giving her the tour.

Here's the master suite as you find it when you walk in and before the kids get to messing it up...

That painting over the fireplace retracts and has a TV behind it. There are Blu-ray players behind the lower left cabinets, and an entire closet behind the bookcase to the far left.

Here we find the second bedroom. This one done in FULL campaign style. You are in a tent and every piece of furniture is campaign style. Oh how many porters would it take...

The hallway which has the exit to the hotel, a closet, and the second of three full baths.

This vanity had SOOO much storage.

The art work in the toilet cubicle was great.

This monkey reading a book as a light sconce was just amazing..

Back to the master... here's a glimpse of the bathroom... more to come later. I will say, this is the only picture taken with the mirror-TV turned on. I never did find a control for the heated floors, but they were warm the entire time, so maybe always on??

My birthday cake. Amy ended up getting it from Cinderella Cakes. It was less than anything Disney offered and they would make it to our needs, not just ordering off a menu which didn't offering anything close to Adventure/Tiki/Jungle Cruise.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! What a way to celebrate! We always thought this would be so fun to do as a treat, but just spend all our time in the park that we couldn't justify it. Thanks for taking in all the details and posting them here! That monkey lighting up in the bathroom was amazing. I think I need that second bedroom - that was super cool.

Btw, one of the guest bathrooms in my aunt's home looks almost exactly like that second bathroom. I had to do a double take for a second lol

Wow - that steam shower grotto looks amazing! As does the master bedroom en suite tub! Although the placement is a bit oddball. That cake looks awesome and it is a shame Disney doesn't unleash their bakers on custom (non wedding) cakes. It's not like they wouldn't be profitable! Thanks for posting so many pictures, I love seeing this Suite and it seems perfect for your birthday celebration!

They were really only willing to do non-custom stuff, and nothing on the menu worked. The cost of the cake wasn't by any means cheap, but it was less than the less-desirable Disney-supplied options.

I only left the room to run over to the E-ticket lounge for some snacks/drinks, for Dinner at SH55, and to run downstairs to pick up some purchases I had sent back to the hotel. I spent pretty much every minute in the suite. It was well worth giving up park time for lounging in pure heaven and just relaxing.

Amy had thought of it all... she had coconut cups, bamboo straws and plates, everything. I had also thought ahead with my signature Mai Tais (16 servings to be exact) I had mixed up and brought all the way from Phoenix and kept on ice all week.
