It's targeted marketing. Likely researched to death. While it isn't 100% effective, humans are herd animals, and that ad probably is pretty effective with the people they want to consider buying a Lincoln. Who are those people? 35 to 40 year olds who currently have or are considering leasing a Lexus, Infiniti ,Audi or BMW.They were trying something different with their advertising I guess. Their cars are certainly unremarkable. I bought a new Cadillac; never even considered a Lincoln.
