Matterhorn With Mulitple Kids

We're headed to Disneyland in a couple of weeks (yea!) and when I woke up this morning a question popped into my head that I just can't figure out.

We're going with our three kids (ages 7, 4, 2) and they are all tall enough to go on the Matterhorn. Now, as far as I can remember, you're allowed up to three people in a bobsled (right?) but when I think of that I imagine three older kids or teenagers that can hold on by themselves. Not a four year old and two year old that have never been on it before.

So do they allow three people on a bobsled, or am I thinking wrong? And would they allow my husband with our two little ones, or do we need to take turns going with the different kids, one on one?

I know you can do 1 in front and 2 in back for sure (in the same car, the middle is divided with a seat rest)... you might be able to do 2 kids (smaller people) in front and 2 people in back too... I figure you would probably end up doing: you with the 2 yo in your lap (actually it is between your legs) in back, and the 7 year old in front of you, and your dh with the 4 year old in his lap in another car...

Your husband gets the 7 and 2 yo and you get the 4 yo.

I like Jack's idea to put our 7 year old and 2 year old with my husband while I take our 4 year old. Honestly, I think if figuring out the seating for Matterhorn is our biggest problem of the day, we'll be in great shape!

Not sure if you've ever been on the Matterhorn, but 2 years old might be a bit young anyway. I'm surprised that age meets the height requirement.

You don't have to put the two kids together... they'd let the 7 y.o. go in front of one of you... my dd rode at 3, proclaimed it "too bumpy" but has ridden it each time we've been since. It is bumpy, and moderately fast, but it is fine if your littlest one is on the daring side (and tall enough--but the height req is pretty short for this ride.)

My daughter first went on it when she was five, and the first time she HATED it, but then she actually asked to go on again about a half hour later and it became one of her favorites. I figure you can have them try once, and if they don't want to go on again, we don't expect them to.

At 7 kids can ride alone. So each little one gets a parent holding on to them and sharing seatbelt space, while the 7 year old can sit by himself.

If all 5 of you will be riding I would have one parent with one of the younger 2 ride in the back of one sled while your 7 yr. rides alone in the front compartment. Then the other parent and remaining child can ride in another sled in the same compartment (front or back.)

BTW how tall is your 2 y/o? Min. height is 35"-that's pretty tall for a 2 yr. old-is your 2 y/o closer to 3? Just curious

When my oldest was 4 she didn't care for it, but my youngest DD loved it at 2...

Dizneydaz, our two year old (Marcus) is just over 34 1/2 inches without shoes, so we're thinking that with his shoes he'll be tall enough. Honestly, if he doesn't measure up to the sign, that will be just fine.

My husband is 6' 5", and Marcus seems to take after him, while our four year old (Ethan) seems to take after my shortness. He's just about four inches taller than Marcus, and people are always asking if they're twins.

I took DD3 on Matterhorn when she was 2 yrs and 3 months. She was barely tall enough and she has always been in the 50-75th percentile for height. So I guess a little taller than average.

Actually they have to be 7 to ride without a parent or guardian. This is what I've been told.

Great! I rec. cowboy boots. My DD used them to ride The Orange Zinger when she first got tall enough. Just so you know the height measuring sizes are adjusted for regular shoes (so I've been told) so you'll want to have him wear something with an extra high sole/heel.

How nice to have a child who is tall. My DD10 just got tall enough in Jan. to ride Maliboomer 52" (and still they check her every time).

My DNephew, 16 months, is tall for his age and will probably be able to ride Matterhorn at 2 as well. DD10 said "He better not be taller than me by the time he's 5!" I got news for her, it may not take that long!
