Hi, I was wondering if the Matterhorn ride is open during the magic morning hour? Many thanks

Is there a list somewhere of what is open during EMH for both parks?:listen::o

I think it depends on the day and if they get the ride checked out on time. Tuesday and Thursday last week, it wasn't open during most of the magic morning hour. It didn't stop people from starting a line though.

It's the same thing for any big ride though. I saw that with Radiator Spring Racers and California Screamin as well.

Found this online. When we went last May all of these rides were open during MM and EMH during our days. The only one i never checked on was Nemo so idk about that one. With that said sometimes the rides are not ready to go during MM or EMH, but this is what is typically open.

Really good point! What's "supposed" to be running is not always. We see that often as well. The key is when you get to a ride that isn't operating yet or is just testing move on. Don't waste your EMH in a line hoping the ride opens. (Learned that one the hard way, waited for RSR testing only for them to shut the whole thing down. EMH wasted.)

Also as far as Matterhorn if Single Rider is an option for you I highly recommend it!

So you can ride RSR during EMH (if it is running) but you can't get a fast pass for the ride until the park is officially open?

You can't get a fast pass for any ride until the park is officially open. Goes for both DCA & DL. But, people will start lines for the big fast passes before the park opens (RSR, Star Tours, and Space Mountain are the big ones).

Why is Star Tours so hard to get out here? It's one of the easiest FP+'s to get in HS... but in Disneyland people line up for this as their primary objective? And Space Mountain similarly? I would think the Matterhorn and/or Indiana Jones would be the most popular but no?

Star Tours is not that popular any longer. It's popularity didn't last as long as RSR's did. When we were there last May waits were 30-40 minutes. It may be slightly more popular now with the new scene, but that'll fade. FP were never that far out during our last trip either. The two biggest ones at Disneyland are Indy and Space (I guess the overlay makes Space even more popular). RSR is the big one at DCA, probably followed by Tower and Soarin'. It seems like Screamin' is usually a 30 min wait with soon FP.

I would say that Star Tours is more popular now due to the addition of the new Force Awakens scenes.
I think the main reasons its not as busy at WDW compared to DL is
#1 People don't realize that the attractions has changed. The local crowd at DL are keen to what small changes are done and go to experience it.
#2 More simulators at WDW.

Indiana Jones is probably the #3 fastpass in DL. There are no fast passes for Matterhorn.

Star Tours being so popular is a temporary thing. It wasn't nearly as popular a few years ago, but all the new scenes and the Star Wars takeover of Tomorrowland has increased the lines for the ride.
