My DH and I went on Mattahorn for the first non-single rider time. We got in line on the opposite side of the mountain entrance less than 15 feet from the sign with a posted wait of 45 minutes. My DH asked if I thought this was correct. Before the refurbishment, my experience told me that at this point in line with both sides going the line should only be 25 minutes. I didn't know how the change in the cars would affect this time. Well it didn't affect it much. I timed our standby time, and it was 26 minutes. DL still hasn't figured out the Mattohorn wait times. Before the refurbishment, they always had the line at this point at 45 minutes, and it was always about 25 minutes. It still seems to be the case--and the line near the front is actually a little longer than before because of the way they wind the line to accommodate the single rider lines.

However, I do need to state that the week before when I did single rider, I asked the people at the front of the standby line how long they waited. They hadn't timed themselves but thought it was about an hour. I believe the posted wait time at that point was 55 minutes. I don't know what it was when they got in line the hour before.

I have noticed this too. When I was there on its opening weekend, it was reporting 90 min lines. It was long, but not near 90 min. I technically didn't try it and I opted for the SR line instead, but still...

When I was there on the day it reopened I got in line just outside the 45 minute mark and it was indeed approx 50-55 minutes. :confused3

We just rode the Matterhorn today. There was only one line instead of the old two, which I didn't expect. It was posted 60 minutes, but took about 35. I think eventually they split the line where the 2nd line used to come in.

It was cool seeing the mountain climbers, I have to say. The only bad thing for me is that I'm 6'7" and the new sleds have far less room than they used to. I was barely able to squeeze my knees below the lip of the front seat. You really feel every bump and jag when you're jammed in there, hehe. Also got a calf-cramp, but there wasn't much I could do at that point. :)

Still, the ride remains an excellent one. Just wish they hadn't buggered up the sleds. I can't ride Space Mountain since that was refurbished a few years ago either.

They do this whenever they expect lower crowds. Been doing it for years.

Yep, the lawyers got to them.

I don't recall any major differences to SM cars in many many years. They did improve the sound as it rarely worked years ago. What change are you referring to? SM's a great ride and always has been!
