DD is headed to 4th grade in the fall, and has been an above average student in all things except math. Her test scores are average there. However, I feel she is capable of performing better than she does. She tends to make silly mistakes on her tests causing her to have an answer marked as incorrect, so even though she understands the process, her grades don't reflect that. (an example of her silly mistakes...getting the correct answer on a word problem, but not including the unit of measurement in her answer).
She is convinced by her test scores that she is "not good at math". I would like to have her work on math through the summer to help her gain confidence and mastery thus helping her to transition to the much harder 4th grade math curriculum.
Can anyone guide me towards some workbooks, on-line resources, or anything else that will help me draft a plan for her summertime learning? Our school utilizes the Everyday Mathematics course if that helps.
