Master bedroom vs sleepsofa with kids?

You can tell I don't have a trip planned - I'm thinking about DVC all the time! ;)

Just curious to hear what others do in the same situation as us:
If you're a family and you stay in a one bedroom unit, do the adults take the master bedroom and put the children on the sleepsofa (which would seem to be the obvious formula), or do you tuck the kids away in the master bedroom so that you can rattle around in the kitchen/living room without disturbing them?

Our children are older now, and often stay up later than us , but I'm always up first in the mornings and desperate to put the kettle on :teeth: But what about those with younger children, what do you do?

Mind you, I'm not going to give up that huge master bed without a good reason! ;)

My kids can sleep through a nuclear exchange so I don't worry about waking them. Those sofa beds are ok for kids, but I think they struggle a bit under the weight of heavier adult (of which I'm one  ) . Give up the kingsize :O I don't think so.

Hi Hilary,

We've yet to do it but I'm fairly sure it will be adults in the bedroom and children in the living room!

We may have to creep around a bit after the kids have gone to bed, but I'm not wasting that bedroom (and jacuzzi bath :)) on them!!

I'm agreeing with Vernon here.

No one's going to boot me out of my king size bed!

Isn't it an advantage banging around in the kitchen when you're itching to get up and around in WDW? ;)

We have been going to OKW for 10 years and must have about 17 trips under our belt by now....however we have onle had THAT WONDERFULL BIG BED 3 times....it seems we always give it up for my parents or friends......but the kids....NO CHANCE

When we first started going we only had 1 DD and she used to sleep in between us. When DD number 2 came along, she slept in the crib and DD1 still slept with us. In fact she was 8 when I finally said that this had to change. Now DH sleeps on the sofa bed, DD2 sleeps on a aero bed (still quite young) and DD1 and my self have the bed. We would much rather have the sitting room to ourselves for the evening.

We are going in Feb 05 with the DIL's and wondered about giving them the Master and we have the studio. But I didn't want to give up our bathroom etc. So NO they will have to have the studio.

Hello.

I can see the merits of putting the children to bed in the bedroom.I suspose it depends on the age of your children, but I would find it hard to give up that bed and bath.I haven't yet stayed at SSR (hurry up christmas),besides DW has allready decided for me.The kids are getting the living room!
