Massage at the Wilderness Lodge?

My husband hurt his back, and we're slated to head to Disney in five short days! I'm rethinking our touring plans to accomodate, and also wondered if a massage could help.

I read that the spa at Saratoga is the best Disney option, but I was hoping to do this right at our resort. If you've had a massage at the WL, would you recommend it, or for the cost, should we hop the bus?

Sorry I posted then realized this is the wrong forum. I clicked on edit/delete but didn't see a way to delete. Sorry, I'm new here!

Not a problem. I've moved this thread to the Disney Resorts board. :thumbsup2

I had a massage scheduled at WL last summer but ended up cancelling it. I would think that if the massage is done by a licensed masseuse, then it will be just fine. Also, it is important to tell your masseuse if something is too deep or there's not enough pressure.

Hope this helps a little...;)

DH had a massage there last time we went because he hurt his back. It really made him feel better. He was also our stroller pusher that trip because he would use it like a walker and it helped take pressure off his back. Also try the hot tubs at the end of the day.

Thanks for the responses (and the relo help, Brian) -- I like that stroller idea. Maybe we're rationalizing the trip here, but I do think it's possible being active, with some of that action being floating in a pool/soaking in a hot tub, could actually be better for his back that sitting in front of a pc for hours at a stretch (his desk job)

They do massages at Sturdy Branches (the WL health club) located at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge.

I'm sore for 2 days after a massage, though not while it's being performed. I would be concerned I'd hurt more afterward and probably wouldn't go that route while on vacation.

I had a massage at sturdy branches this past January, and it was great. I ha ld the 90 minute aromatherapy massage, and it cost $150, or thereabouts. The price sounds high, but its only about 5% more than what I pay at a nice spa here at home.

The masseuse Was very good, I fell asleep during the massage. The only negative that I had was that there were no robes. I'm accustomed To changing in a locker or shower area, donning a robe, and making my way to the massage room. At the WL, you put your clothes right back on afterwards, and don't really have a chance to rinse off beforehand.

1) The messages at WDW are messages.
2) They are not medicinal or therapeutic.
3) This is not like a message by a chiropractor or physical therapist.
4) He might feel better after the message.
5) Or, not.

So.... Don't blame the messenger? Sorry, couldn't resist...

OP
: I have a link to the Relaxed Yet Spa on the first page of the WL thread that's hyperlinked in my signature. It's in the Sturdy Branches section. Sometimes they offer coupons you can print at home. There are massage rooms at WL, however, there isn't a "spa." The Relaxed Yet masseuse comes to the Sturdy Branches. Though it was many years ago, I had one once there and it was excellent and I plan on booking one for August. I think it's the perfect atmosphere for your DH to get a massage since it's not a frilly spa and it's so convenient.

my dh did one at saratoga and he greatly enjoyed it and it helped his aching body, worth every penny or should i say dollar...

1) Absolutely possible.
2) But, a bad back is usually more than just sore muscles.
