I saw Ant Man last night, and I know a lot of people might think of it as a minor Marvel film with a b-list character, I have to say that I was blown away by the film. It is one of Marvel's best (maybe THE best?), and that's saying something! It's fun, funny, action packed, beautiful...it has everything. Michael Douglas is amazing of course, and Paul Rudd is just so likable. If you're on the fence about seeing it, go check it out. If you're a Marvel fan there are a lot of connections to the larger universe too. It's great!

Glad to hear a positive review. We're big Marvel fans so we'd end up seeing it anyways, but I was needed a push to see it at the theater instead of waiting for DVD.

I agree with Brian. The movie is definitely worth seeing. I gave it an 8/10 on my podcast. (Here's the link to the non-spoiler review http://www.thedisneymoviereview.com/27/) It is definitely one of Marvel's best standalone films. I'm still partial to Iron Man, but Ant-Man definitely beats out Thor and The Hulk.

Remember that most people felt the same way about "Guardians of the Galaxy. going into the film. Although you can change the b-character to c-character. :)

And most people felt the same way about "Guardians" after seeing it, too. I think the success of that film helped Marvel to step outside their comfort zone and test out other characters. It's not always about the familiar. Give an audience a good film, and they'll show up.

Glad you enjoyed the movie!

I got a feeling of Monsanto's Adventure Through Inner Space in one part of the movie...anyone else get that feeling?

We enjoyed it too. Have always been an Ant Man fan and even though there was a lot changed from the comics it was an enjoyable film. Hope it picks up at the box office. It deserves a big audience and a sequel. If we want to keep getting the big movies we have to support the smaller ones as well.

We went to see it tonight, it really was fantastic and going to make the rest of the marvel avengers movies epic!!

We saw it last night. Really liked it (except BDLsgal didn't like the sheep scenes. **WARNING** for small children). Great movie and never slowed down. Especially when Rudd and Lilly are in the same scene together or ANY time Michael Pena is on screen. Loved all of the human elements. Family; Redemption; And a sense of right and wrong. Plus, getting to see 'Gordon Gecko' interact with Howard Stark and Agent Carter was cool (not a spoiler, happens in the 1st minute. DO NOT BE LATE TO THE THEATER). And the climactic fight scene was a great mix a action and laughs.

I do have a question. And maybe someone else noticed this; Or someone who will see the movie after this. When Scott is walking down the street, drinking his smoothie, he passes a guy wearing a wool cap and sunglasses, and that guy, stops in place, and watches Scott as he keeps walking. The question is; Was that Nick Fury? I only noticed it for an instant and my brain didn't register it until Scott got home. It's 1 of those moments when I wished I had my DVR remote in real life. And when it did register, it was "Guy guy looks just like Fury did when he walked away at the end of Winter Soldier." I may be delusional, but I'd like to know for sure.

PS: Really liked the mid- and post- credit scenes. Can't wait for Phase III

I LOVED IT!!! There was so much humor and a lot of physical comedy. Paul Rudd was perfect for the role. I am going to see it again.
