MARTHA STEWART AT MICHAEL's - an 18 x 18" scrapbook - how many of you will get it?

One of my mikes had it ready to go and it's so not me. Way too expensive too

It's certainly prices and sizes that I really don't care for but when you add the following article about scrapbooking being a "dowdy business", I don't care to add any more $$$$$$ to Martha's change purse!:snooty:

Thanks for the link to the article. What I got out of it, which really wasn't news to me, is that Martha Stewart - both the person and the companies - are way to arrogant for me. Nope, I won't be lining their pockets with my $$ any time soon.

And they think they're creating something new, or reinventing existing products? HA!!! Seems to me products like those mentioned here have been out and available for purchase at least a year already.
For their product line, Ms. Stewart and Hannah Milman, editorial director of crafts for Martha Stewart Living, tried to come up with new twists on old products. Ms. Milman says innovations include adhesive-backed ribbon and "collector boxes" in which crafters, instead of pasting keepsakes into scrapbooks, can create displays for wall-mounted dioramas.

I'm wondering who her focus group was for this project.

I'm guessing there wasn't one...or it was filled with Martha devotes who agreed with whatever stupid whim came to her, just because she's Martha. I can't believe how expensive all of her stuff is...I haven't been to Michael's lately, but I'll be sure to check the ridiculous prices when I go. Maybe they're not as ridiculous in Colorado?

Yeah, that adhesive backed ribbon is SO innovative. It's amazing that I actually have (and have had for over a year) such an amazing and "innovative" product. Lucky me.

Not that it will make a difference, but after reading that article, I had to write the author. Not only is there attitude from Martha Stewart and her company but the author certainly sounds snobby, though I'm sure she's not dowdy in the least. After all, she isn't a scrapbooker (or at least that's my assumption)!

Even it wasn't overpriced, I don't want to buy it after reading that article.

Well, I finally had time to sit and read the article..
Well, if Jo's and HL are downscale..than I must be downscale too... I guess MS just lost my interest even to look at her items..

I guess I'll muddle through and continue to make my scrap books MY way, the way that makes MY family happy..

Could anyone post a link to how to write the author. I stopped reading after the first couple of paragraphs but I want to send a nasty letter to the author.

If you go back to the letter... scroll all the way down.. it has an email address on there...
I'd post it but don't want to get in trouble for it if it's against the rules...

I was at our Michael's here in Canada....they have all the Martha albums including 12X12, 8.5X11, and the 18X18....the 18X18 albums here are $99.99 - can't see them selling a lot of them....they are just too big and not too impressive for the price.
