I know Michael's is all set to roll out the martha stewart stuff later this month....

how many of you are going to get the 18 x 18' scrapbook? I can't even imagine scrapping something that large. (I do 12x12 now).

Anyone? Thoughts?

Where are we going to get paper for that size? And then to store it. I had enough trouble coming up with something for 12x12

Martha's nuts if she thinks 18x18 is going to be popular. But I guess she wants to corner that market. I can't imagine anyone else jumping on the bandwagon to supply paper and cardstock in that size since so many scrappers seem to lean toward smaller than 12x12 these days. And I agree, where would you store a mammoth like that?

Wouldn't fit on my shelves, where do you get the paper, and more to the point - how are you going to lift the thing once you've mounted and embellished everything?

Still, given the speed (OR LACK OF IT) that scrapbook innovations make across the pond there's no chance of me having to worry about it for a few years yet:rotfl2:

Well, think of all the extra pics you could put on each page...plus the embelishments...

But no, I won't be getting it. Is she coming out with papers to fit it too?

I know when I was at Mike's last week, they had 2 isles torn up over this new Martha stuff... I'll have to plan some time to explore...

My Mike's said that her collection would be set by 4/27. They are having a big scrapbooking extravaganza on the 28th.

My first thought is what paper will fit that? She'll have to come out with 18x18 paper. Then I thought, that's not so bad, I used to do CM 12x15 albums. Will it fit on a shelf? No, but I have tons of 12x12 albums that don't fit either and it doesn't bother me.

Has anyone seen one? What's the design/style?

I would probably end up buying the paper if she has a good selection. It will help with swap stuff, I won't have to buy as much. but 18 x 18, I doubt I would use it.

I just tossed a scrapbook that was 15x18. I never even touched it.

It's just way too big, I struggle to find space on my dining table to design my 12x12's as it is!!!

I was at Mike's today, and the scrapping section was in a terrible mess. They had 3 employees working to move, and restock everything. The lady I talked to said that they would be having TONS of new scrapping things soon. By the amount of space they were clearing out, It looked like they were trying to make room for a whole eisle's worth of merchandise.

I would theoretically use one if I ever decided to scrap my wedding photos. That might be an album I would have sitting flat on an end table or something, like a coffee table book. However, the paper would be a problem, so in practice I don't think I would buy one. Even if I liked the matching paper, I don't think it would be cheap.

I think the only time an 18x18 book would come in handy would be when I'm scrapping my WDW photos. Sometimes I just don't have enough room in 2 12x12 pages to scrap one event, like parades and character meals etc.

But I can't imagine that Martha is going to come out with a whole bunch of 18x18 Disney papers for me to choose from. :rotfl: I also heard that her albums will be upwards of $50 and you can't use the coupons on them. So I seriously doubt that I will be buying any of those products.

$50 for an album?? Not a chance in Hades I would buy that.
The whole non coupon thing is really getting old. The stupid thing will be the size of a newspaper with all the exclusions they are listing.

At this point it would be better to just nix the coupon all together.
I wonder how big the ta-do is going to be on opening day.

I've had trouble with the coupons lately since I go in and the things on my list are already on sale and since I'm trying to be more responsible I can't just find anything that I want to buy. Of course the last couple of weeks its been since everything is already clearanced but thats another story.

For all the reasons already mentioned I won't buy her album. i guess I would possibly buy some of her embellisments or paper (to cut down) if they were absolutely georgous, but I have enough trouble coming up with a design for a 12 x 12 page.

I just reread the thread on 2peas and it looks like the 18x18 album will be around $80! :scared1:

Here's the 2peas link in your interested

eta: oops, sorry here is the real link

are you KIDDING me? 80 bucks for an album? for that much it better be scrapping the pages for me. :rotfl2: maggie

I could see using it for my kids' artwork. I am thinking of getting the CM 12x15for this anyway (and at $44, a comparative bargain). I wouldn't wallpaper those anyway, probably just do labels.

PoohBearLovinMama ~ Could you re-post the link for twopeas? The one in your post links back to us;)
