This morning at 5:51AM, the planet Mars was closer to Earth than it has been in 59,619 years. And I slept in. It really didn't matter since it's been raining on and off for the past 24 hours. I suppose that I can just wait until it gets this close again. In the year 2287.
NASA used the Hubble Space Telescope to take advantage of the closeness of Mars and took some of the sharpest images of "The Red Planet" this morning. The images can be found by following the link at:

Do you think that Disney planned the opening of Mission Space based on the fact that Mars is so close?
