I know someone out there was going here for july 4th as I recall. Please post how you enjoyed this resort! Or anyone else who has been there, please give some details! Thank you!

Sent you a PM. We are there now and think VB is much nicer overall. It is a nice resort though and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here for a South FL beach trip.

I am sure you are having a great time, please let us know all about it when you get the chance. Thanks.

I'm not much for trip reports, especially the way they get done on dvctalk. The resort is nice and right on the ocean. The views even from the oceanside units are pretty good unless you are really low. Unfortunatley, you would likely be very low if you exchanged in. The resort itself is beatiful with a lot of activities. There are a number of good restaurants in the area though only about 3 within walking distance. The rest are 5-10 miles away in most cases. We much prefer Grande Ocean on HH and likely will not be back here.

I hope the Sailfish Marina is within walking distance. They have wonderful breakfast (ate breakfast every Friday for about 3 years there!) and their seafood is wonderful. Hope it still is.

The Sailfish restaurant, Marina and Buccaneer have all been sold. Part of the agreement is to keep them intact for at least 2 years. After that who knows but I'd guess they will be wiped out and condo's built. We didn't do breakfast there, sorry. We ate at the Cheesecake factory at City Place, the Breakers main dining room, the Buccaneer, Max and Eddie's and Jetty's. The last 3 had early bird dining which was a very good deal. At the Bucanner it was $16.95 including Soup or Salad, entree, drink and desert. They had several choices topped by Prime Rib and Grilled Salmon. Max and Eddie's was $10.95 including soup of the day, salad and entree. The bread and soup were very good, the entree's only so so. Jetty's was one of the best places I've ever eaten. At $13.95 including a salad, bread and entree's including Mahi Mahi, Coconut Shrimp, Reg Fried Shrimp and HI chicken with some of the hotest baked potatoes I've ever seen. The Breaker was expensive for their top dining room, at $200 for two without wine for a price Fix menu. It's be easy to spend $400 for 2 with wine, etc. But it was for our anniversary and my wife loves old hotels, etc. Also did the tour there which is Wed at 2 PM and they take reservations. There is a cost which I'd been told would be $20 pp but ended up being $15 pp. They are closing that restaurant for 2 months to put in new AC.

City Place is an amazing shopping and dining area but more to my wife and daughters taste than mine. Did not go to Sailfish Restaurant, Jupiter Crabhouse, Cafe Chardoney or Legal Seafood all of which had been highly recommended as well. The resort has books of menues and a lot of recommendations.

Well, I guess change is inevitable. I agree about City Place. I remember when that area was just plain scary and I was amazed at what they did with it.
I sure do miss the early bird specials in that area. Thanks for the S. FL updates! I need to go back for a visit soon.
