:thumbsup2 I wanted to give lots of kudos to the Marriott Residence Inn Cape Canaveral/Cocoa Beach!! This property is immaculate!! From the moment we drove up and were greeted with such a friendly manner by Tiffany at the front desk, we felt as if we were at home. The hotel is brand new and the interior is just beautiful. The colors of burgundy and yellow are so cheery, it feels very tropical and the water wall is so soothing!! Pictures on the Marriott website do not do this place justice!!

We reserved a 2-bedroom suite at a AAA rate that at the time seemed a little high. Tiffany assigned us room #305, facing Port Canaveral. Once we walked into our room we realized that it was worth every penny. The layout was not only perfect for my Mom and I, but for families as well. (I figured since Mom and I would be in close-quarters on the ship, we would have our own space to spread out in the night before!!!) Beautiful kitchen will standard size appliances (fridge, microwave, stove), granite countertops, hardwood floors, comfortable eating area with seats for four (so comfy!!), plenty of dishes, glasses to be had. The living room had the most comfortable lounge chair and sleeper sofa ~Good for the back after a long plane ride!!:cool1: A huge flat screen tv with lots of channels to surf!! The bedrooms are so very spacious; king beds( very comfortable!!) in both rooms, upgraded linens, large tv in each bedroom, very nice furniture and plenty of light. In the master, there is a large workdesk, the bathroom is split with a dual vanity and lots of space for two people to get ready at the same time. Directly behind the vanity are mirrored closet doors which is wonderful if you can not see without your glasses when you are getting ready!!!:lmao: There is an iron and ironing board and they even offer laundry service if you desire. The bathroom is also quite spacious with a shower/tub combination, standard toilet and nice toiletries and a shower massage head. The only downfall....if you are short, you can not adjust the showerhead down...so plan to stand in the back of the shower or you might miss the water!! The second bedroom, a mirror image sans the workdesk and mirrored closet doors~~ just as comfortable!! This room was truly one of the most smartly designed spaces I have ever seen.

One thing worth noting... in the middle of the night, my Mom realized that she needed to take her medication, but can not do so without fruit juice. We noticed a small store at check in that sold soda, juice and sundries. I wandered downstairs and ask the night auditor if I could buy some juice. Unfortunately the store was closed but he was so wonderful and got the key to the juice machine in the breakfast lounge and filled a pitcher full of orange juice and told me that if my Mom needed anything else to please let him know. I was absolutely amazed at the level of service as I was prepared to drive to a Walgreens after finding out the "store" was closed. I could not thank him enough!!:flower3:

We woke up the next morning relaxed and refreshed, I opened the curtains and could see one of the Royal Carribean Cruiseships and the Carnival Ships "whale tale", I could not see the Disney Wonder as if is docked at a more east/west postion. This got us so excited for our cruise!! We got ready we wandered downstairs for breakfast to find an amazing spread of food and lots of people eating. They serve their buffet from 6:30-9:30am. We were a little late getting down there, but the food was continually replenished. I had the most wonderful eggs, sausage, and best of all a waffle station!! Yummy is all I have to say!! They had all kinds of fruit, yogurt and very healthy choices as well. I must say that this is better than most continental breakfast buffets we have seen at other Residence Inns. They have a beautiful lounge with tables set up, they also have a library/sitting room with free internet access in case you want to send an e-mail before you leave for the ship.

We did not have an opportunity to use the pool, hot tub or excercise room on this stay. The pool area is very spacious and the hot tub looks inviting. The excercise room is a good size and they have tv's to watch as you work out. One other feature is a Manager's reception during the weekdays with a different social activity each night. We unfortunately arrived to late, but they had a "cookout" with hot dogs I think from 5:30-7:30pm. A nice treat especially if you are in need of a snack!!

All in all, we truly enjoyed our stay!! We had the opportunity to explore the island and looked at many hotels both on and off the beach. There is a definite charm to the Residence Inn and the proximity to the Port makes it even more attractive. (about a 5 minute drive). As I am sure you can tell we will be back next year!!

By the way....if you are looking for a wonderful place on the water to eat, definitely try Grills. The food was great!!

Thank you for this review. I'm looking forward to staying there when we cruise in April.

Thank you for the report. We are staying there next month before our Western - I am really looking forward to it.

Hey Seaprincess - great report! We just booked there for October!

One question - how was the shuttle to the port?

Thanks so much!! threeCsmom, we did not take the shuttle, but I can tell you that you can park your car for free and the shuttle is $6.00 round trip per person. We foolishly paid $12/day at the Port because we thought that we would have to wait a while for the shuttle after getting off the Wonder. Boy were we wrong!! The shuttles were so very quick...we could have saved $24 (that would have paid the surcharge for Palo!! ). Needless to say we will be using the shuttle on our next visit.

I hope that everyone enjoys their stay. I promise you will not be disappointed!!:cool1: :cool1:

so happy to hear your report! we are staying there in a couple of weeks... thanks again!

Thanks much for this great review! I just booked using Marriott points for our night before our October cruise on Disney Wonder!

You are quite welcome!! I hope that you enjoy your stay as much as we did!! We will be staying there again in December and I am looking forward to relaxing and waking up a hop, skip and a jump form the Port!!

Have a great night!!:yay:

Thank you for the wonderful review. We are staying there on Friday! We love Residence Inns, I'm glad to hear that this one has such good service.

Thanks for the great info. We will be staying here April 6th.

Thanks Seaprincess for a great review of the Residence Inn. Nine of us will be staying there in 3 one bedroom suites after our 4-day Wonder cruise this month. Sounds like it will be absolutely perfect for three nights. I knew it was fairly new and have not heard any bad reviews.

I made a reservation to stay here on 31 Mar 2007, the night before our 4 night Wonder Cruise. We booked 2 one bedroom suites. I had enough Marriott Reward points to get one of the rooms for free and the other for the Government/Military rate.:cool1:
