Dh and I have stayed at the Grande Vista for 4 years now but I thought we would try something new. Horizons had a pool area that looked great for my kids so I exchanged for it. It was a very small resort. I had requested a new building but they had one ready near the pirate ship pool. We were hot so we took the ready room. It was on the first floor, which was nice- no elevators or stairs to climb. I knew we would have no jacuzzi but didn;t realize the rooms were smaller than the GV too.

The kitchen fridge door was rusty in spots and the cabinets were peeling in spots. The dining table was white but dingy and stained. There was no pillowtop mattresses like we've had at other Marriotts either. That night I realized the lock on our sliding patio door was broke. I wouldn't go tot sleep until DH stuck a broom handle under the door. It did get fixed the next day. I didn't pay for housecleaning but to get new towels everyday was a pain. Garbage had to be left outside our door for them to pick up. One day I left all the dirty towels by the door and requested an exchange. I came back to new towels but the dirty ones still there.
My kids liked the pirate ship pool. The other pool area witht he big slide was always empty. There was no marketplace, no ice cream other than 3-5 at the pirate pool. Overall I would not stay there again.

We always just wash our own towels instead of worrying about exchanging them. Did you have a unit that didn't have a washer/dryer?

We did have a washer dryer but with 5 people I would have been doing non stop towel laundry- pool towels, shower towels etc.
