Good morning!!

Can you really walk to Sea World from Marriott Grande Vista? Is it really that close?? We will have DD, almost 3 yrs old in stroller....

Any thoughts? insight..help?? lol

thanks!

Not really. Grande Vista is very close to SW (I think about a 10 min. drive) but is definitely not in walking distance. You would have to walk on I-drive (don't know what sidewalk is available in that area). You would also have to walk around SW to the front entrance. So far as driving goes, it is a piece of cake and easy to take a midday break for rest/swim. It is a beautiful resort with pools that kids like. Have fun! :thumbsup2

I agree with Danibelle, it isn't really a practical walk from Grande Vista to the main entrance to SeaWorld though the resort is in the general SeaWorld neighborhood. GV is about 2 1/2 miles from SeaWorld and would take five to ten minutes by car.

If you walked you'd be without a sidewalk along busy International Drive for over half a mile which I think would be far from optimal. And, even if you decided to risk that walk, it would likely take at least 45 minutes to make it to SeaWorld (probably more than that depending on where you're staying within Grande Vista, how fast you can walk while pushing the stroller and how long you'd have to wait at the crosswalk across International Drive to Central Florida Parkway). I suspect that the stroller wouldn't fare well on the part of the journey that's without a sidewalk.

No way, Maybe the Hilton grand vacation club seaworld but MGV is definately a hike. Who told you that you could do that?

Thanks for the responses!! I appreciate the heads up and now I know not to attempt!! lol I believe I read it on a Trip Advisor post and also think someone at the hotel told my M-I-L that. ???? it's not biggie..haha.

Is it something that you all know of that the I-Trolley takes you by (Sea World)?? Is the I-trolley accessible near the entrance of the hotel? (I know it's off a little private drive)... Maybe we could use the I-trolley..as opposed to driving.. just to try something "different" in and around Orlando ... thoughts?

you can walk it. It is probably less than a mile.

at the one problem area - you get a traffic light. You want to enter SW on the walking path - not the diriving area. now the driving area is definitely closer to HGVC. but the Marriott is not far.

the walking path you will get too long before the diriving - it is across from Discovery Cove (which you are also really close too)

now the I trolley stops close to the other Marriott - Cypress Harbour - don't even remember it being close to CP.

marriott has a bus but even years ago it was expensive.

Yes, there is a trolley stop at the entrance to the Grande Vista (stop #37 Northbound according to the map I have in front of me). I believe it drops you off right at the front of SW (stop #33).

When is your trip? I will be staying there 10/14 and can verify the stop in front for you.

Aww, Lisa you are so nice. We will be there this Friday, 10/1-10/8 ..just missing you haha.. Im nervous!! lol I hope we are in a good location there ..at least to the pools.. We have a 3 BR villa

Hey MES, Call the grand vista the week before you check in and make a building request. They'll do their best to honor it. The trolley is a good idea. No matter what others say, that is definately more then a mile and not something my family and I would want to walk to, especially when you are going to walk all day at the park!!! We stayed at the HGVC SW a few years back and that is closer then GV but still too much of a walk. Have fun.

Thank you , Jeff!!! I would call.. but it's my Inlaws timeshare.. not sure how much "authority" I have in requesting. I may see if they want to call ..lol

I wonder how busy it will be this week??

I read on Tip Advisor that Tuesday nights they do Luau's!!

Have your inlawas request a room near the pool with the outdoor bar....best location! You will love staying there!

I just checked Mapquest and Grande Vista to Seaworld is 2.41 miles.

Definately more then a mile!!! :rotfl:

MES, call up and pretend you are your mother in-law. They'll never know and hopefully you'll get that better location.

Haha.. thanks!! you all are great!!! Im sooo looking forward to it!!! I wish some of you were going to be there next week!! lol ahh Im nervous!!! Havn't stayed IN Orlando In YEARS!! always stay at my grandfathers about 30 minutes away and drive in to go to the parks.

silly ..quick Q.. how are the hairdryers at this resort? Should I bring my own instead? thanks!

boy really though it was alot closer.

there is just Denny's and a gas station before the Marriott - oh forgot the woods - but did not think they were that big.

you really need a car at any of the Marriott - they are not close to grocery stores either.

okay big problem - just check google - the renaissance - which is on the other side of Seaworld is only .8 miles from Marriott's Grande vista

now looking at mapquest - although mapquest definitely is wrong here.

mapquest is taking you from the furthest at GV to the parking lot at SW - neither of which you will need to do.

love mapquest when asked about the renaissance it goes to the airport.....:rotfl::rotfl::happytv::rotfl2:

That's just not correct. Are you mixing up the locations of Grande Vista and Cypress Harbour? That's about the right mileage for Cypress Harbour or the Harbour Lake Resort, for that matter, to the Renaissance. Both of those Marriotts are just off Westwood Boulevard and closer to SeaWorld than Grande Vista is.

I think Spicy is confused. :rolleyes1 From those of us who have actually been there, the 2.4 miles that mapquest says sounds correct. Definately not a walk which is what you are asking about. Have fun.

haha.. thank you all... you guys are funny... sorry if Im mixin anyone up :rotfl:

also... any insight on the hairdryers?? are they good? should I bring my own?

thanks! Jackie
