We just received a timeshare offer in the mail from Marriott's Grande Vista; $249 for 5 days & 4 nights plus two 1-day theme park tickets. We will already be in that area in July. Does anyone know the answers to these questions: We would have to check in on a Friday; do they schedule timeshare offer visits over a weekend? For a family of 4 would we be given hotel-room accomodations or a regular 1-bedroom unit? Do they offer other options beside the park tickets? And are they hard sell or can we get away in 90 minutes? We are not familiar with this property but it looks great and seems like a good deal.

Hello

1st, we did stay there last Feb, BEAUTIFUL PLACE!!!!
GORGEOUS!
DO IT!

For years we stayed on Disney Properties and then did Timeshare Travel, now we have a place in the Orlando area.
Doing "Timeshare Tours" to get to FL was a great, I mean GREAT experience for us.
We didn't do the time share at Marriott Grand Vista, because a friend of ours already belonged to Interval Timeshare, but we did get a one bed w/kitchen for under 300.00 for 7 days.......

In past couple years, legislation in FL has changed.
It's a tourism mecca ( I was in the industry for over 12 years) and they depend on tourism for survival.
They have in their legislation now you have a signed agreement, you get it signed (most places do this)others don't have to have you sign them.
depends on the Corporation....anyway, after 90 minutes you are free to leave.
Where as several years ago they could hold you up for 2-3 hours to try to get you to buy, tactics horrible, etc.
Not anymore.Too many complaints, the travel industry cannot afford lost dollars, in Orlando.
We did this for a couple years, touring 2-3 different timeshare properties to get to FL.
Go early tour, skip the breakfast, get right in, stick to your guns,no buying, do the tour, and get your cheap vacation.
You'll be happy you did.
You can also go on line to the Marriott Grand Vista and it is a beautiful property, I am biased anyway, I really like Marriott properites over the Westgate Resorts (a very large Timeshare company), they also offer cheap timeshare vacations.
Enjoy your trip.:woohoo:

Counting down to my next trip in April. Cannot wait!!!

The property is gorgeous, you will love your accomodations. I didn't do the time share presentation, but I have read other's reports that state they were low pressure, no big deal. But I would gladly do the time share bit to get the good rates.

We did the time share presentation at the grande vista in August 2005. We paid $200 for 4 nights and they put our family of 4 in a studio. There was 1 queen bed and 1 pull out sofa bed. The property was nice but we were not happy with the sales person. Our son tried to contact us several times from the childrens area and the salesmen did not even tell us! When the presentation was over we told him we had to think about it. He called our room relentlessly that night until we had to tell him to stop. We sent an email to Marriott when they asked us for our feedback and we never heard from them. We love Marriotts and are members of their frequent stay program but would never participate in a time share again. This may have been an isolated experience but just wanted to let you know.

We decided to pass on the Grande Vista offer, but thanks for all the info!
