We currently have a reservation at the Marriott next month. While checking prices I saw that Mystic Dunes is $420 less for the 5 days that we have the reservations at the Marriott Grande Vista. I have never stayed at either resort. We normally stay at Marriott Harbour Lake, but the prices at Grande Vista were lower. Has anyone stayed at both these resorts that could compare them pros/cons? If you have stayed at either I would like opinions. My family 2 adults and one child that turns 6 while there, and my parents in their mid 50's. We will have a car also.

While there are other Marriotts in the area that I prefer, I think that Grande Vista is a very nice resort (we'll be there during first week of December). I like that one more than what I've seen of Harbour Lake (haven't stayed at HL but visited while we were at Cypress Harbour and daughter and husband were at HL). Stay near one of the two major pool areas and you'll be right in the middle of the action where the amenities are located.

I would stick with your Marriott Grand Vista reservation. Grand Vista is a very nice resort and the rooms have been recently renovated.

I have stayed at both..... And I would say I liked the Grande Vista much better. The Grande Vista made me want to spend time at the resort with all the activities and nice grounds. The Dunes felt decent but nothing made me want to come back again. I think the Dunes is cheaper for a good reason. I also like the fact that Marriott refreshes rooms consistently. The Dunes was a little outdated the last time I was there. It was just a place to rest your head in between the parks.

Does Grande Vista have a water slide. I haven't seen a lot of pictures of the pools. We will be mostly in the parks with some free time, but not days to spend there. Great feed back so far.

I've only stayed at one resort that I would never return to and that would be Mystic Dunes. Never again. I can't speak for the whole property but our building was run down and the units were horrendous. Stick with Marriot....

Grande Vista doesn't have a water slide at any of its pools. There are two large, central pool areas with heated pools. Both with a separate children's pool area. And there are two more area pools that are located near the sets of buildings that are further away from the center of the resort. There are hot tubs at each of the pool areas and there's a lap pool Village Center area. I think that there about two dozen buildings housing guests at this resort.

Go out to mvci.com, click on Destinations then Marriott Vacation Club Resorts. Scroll down to the Florida section and find Marriott's Grande Vista. Each specific resort site has a wealth of information about the resort and its amenities along with basic villa layouts and a resort map. As long as the links are correct (not always true at the MVCI site) then you'll get a lot of good stuff there.

Thanks, for the information. My parents need to make sure they have good bed, and not a lot of loud noise.

Mystic Dunes is in the midst of renovations. We stayed here in October 2014 and got a newly reno-ed unit and it was very clean, quiet and beautiful.

Now, given the choice we would stay at a Marriott and really like Sabal Palms. (we're staying at Sabal again next May) Mystic Dunes is a lot cheaper and good "basic" resort. For my family, we love the amenities at the Marriott, especially the World Center. If we couldn't get a Marriott, I would stay at Mystic Dunes again. Just be sure to ask for a renovated unit and skip the timeshare desk.

Grande Vista is quiet. We were there when the resort was completely full and we couldn't hear any of our neighbors. Beds were good.
