I'm a WDW expert traveling to Anaheim on a biz trip. Of course, I'm taking a day to explore DL for the first time on Nov. 4th. I can't wait!

My question is about transportation. I'm staying at the Marriott near the Convention Center. The map of the area looks like Toy Story parking lot is right across the street from the Marriott. Does it make sense for me to walk to Toy Story and take the bus to DL? Can I do this if I don't park a car in the lot?

Thanks for your advice.

Yes you can walk accross the street and catch the tram. They have no problem with this. You can also catch to ART bus out front of the Marriott, and it will take you directly to the drop off point.

The Toy Story lot isn't directly across the street from the Marriott, its a block or two away. We've taken the ART when we've stayed at that Marriott and it worked out OK. Not great, but OK. I'd guess the same issues would arise with walking to the Toy Story lot in that you still need to wait for the bus to arrive & load.

If you're up for it, walking is also an option. I believe its about a mile but check it out on Google Maps. It should take 20 minutes.

DH and I tried walking to the Toy Story lot one day last weekend on our little get away without the kids. It was about 45 min. before opening. They were not parking cars near the entrance off Harbor that we used except for in a few handicapped spots. We ended up waiting for a bus for 20 minutes and the CM there ended up having to call for a bus to come there. Is this typical if you walk in to the lot early in the morning? It worked fine for us but in June my kids will be there with us and my DD has lots of anxiety issues and may be upset with this and be feeling like we shouldn't be there.

OP - yes, do it. We've stayed at the Marriott many, many times and done this (and the bus drivers say it's a-okay.) The walk is nothing - it'll take you 5 to 10 minutes to reach the busses (the 5 minute difference is if you hit the light at Harbor to cross the street, it's a long light.) And while it is not technically across the street, it basically is. A few steps to Harbor, cross the street, walk past the toll booths to the bus loading zone.

Only once have we ever had to wait in a short line to board a bus, we've never had to wait for a bus to arrive. You're only visiting DL one day so don't imagine you'll have early entry which is the only time we've found the lot closed. For getting to rope drop during for regular opening we've never had a problem, busses have been running each time. I'd reccomend this strategy any day of the week and twice on Tuesday. Enjoy your trip!
