Married by America!

I've been watching this show since the beginning and my DH thinks I'm nuts! I think Jill and Kevin will get married. Let's see what happens.........

I have not watched enought to know...who was just one?

I have to tell you how surprised I was at the outcome of this show. I really thought Jill and Kevin would get married. I knew deep down that Billie Jean and Tony wouldn't get married.

NOBODY gets married??   WOW! Says a LOT doesn't it?:( Kind of feel bad for Billie Jean, but WE could ALL see he wasn't in LOVE with her.....she was living in a Fantasy World. Now, he feels bad.

I waited until morning so I wouldn't spoil it for anyone.

What was UP with this show? All they did was PROVE that NO, you cannot seriously marry a person sight unseen and make it work! The previous Bachelors and Joe Millionaire proved that!

I hope that Billie Jean finds some professional help. She has major issues that she is still reliving from some sort of abandonment in her childhood. Tony was smart to get OUT while he could, because to prolong it would have been more devastating.

Can't blame Jill for her choice. Kevin's family was a thorn in her side and would've continued to be until he cut the umbilical cord, which I don't see happening. His family's opinion meant aLOT to him and it was pretty obvious what their opinion of HER was....
Not that he was all that much of a prize with no job! :earseek:

Oh, well, another one bites the dust! :teeth:

Did you see the end of the show? Billie Jean has been to L.A. and Tony has been to NY since the show finished. She's hoping to move to L.A. even if they don't stay together.

On another note, Jill and Kevin have stayed engaged. I believe it also said he will be moving to where she lives, but they won't move in together, yet.

I agree that Billie Jeanne needs some help...she seems a little messed up. Jill however seems to be a real b*(*&. Shes just more concerned about posing for playboy and she wouldn't be able to do that. I think Kevin should get out while he can too.

My question is...did the show make them go thru up to the point of the ceremony to say 'I Don't'? I honestly don't think Tony would have waited til then to embarass her and I don't think Jill would gotten all dressed up in order to say no also. If they really cared about the other person, they wouldn't have done it that way. Either way, whether they waited til then, or the show made them, its pretty low.

Minnie824, I have no doubt that they signed a contract to that affect. The whole purpose of the show was to have that "Perry Mason" moment AFTER the commercial. This is how advertising is sold!

I don't think the families were aware of it because of all the accusations but that was for "drama" anyway.

Yes, ltldeb, I did see the ending. Which makes me wonder, the original shows were live, right? So this whole "relationship" thing is still only about 2 months old. Still too soon to see how all of this will work out.

I found it hard to believe that they actually thought the couples WOULD go through with it after such a short time. What would they have done after Jill said no if Billie Jean and Tony did want to go through with it? The audience had voted for Jill and Kevin. Does that mean Billie Jean and Tony would have ended up with nothing? I think this show was even more bizarre than the others.

 I was so disappointed with this show last night! What a waste of two hours and no one even got married. I do see why they didn't but it still was a waste of my time I felt. I don't think we will be seeing another season of this one. Like someone else pointed out, it sure seems like we have had a lot of these "meet your spouse" shows and it never seems to work out. I think it's time for a new concept!

I am SO relieved that the show's outcome was what it was ! As I sat and watched it with DD and DH (DS not interested) it was much easier to defend my stand that marriage is a holy bond and not something that can be set up for success as a TV show. My teenager was watching with high interest to see if mom was going to be proven wrong......my opinion is that this particular format of show should go away now. Getting a couple together to later make a decision on marriage is one thing--forcing a couple TO marry is quite another.
Thank you Jill and Tony for making the right decision!!

I wondered the same thing ltldeb! Especially after Tony told BJ that he was concerned with the money...

vald1977: I don't think this concept is going anywhere for awhile, not as long as the networks can continue to keep millions of people coming without paying high actor rates! Just think, next week we get MR.PERSONALITY! :earseek:

I think I'll be finding something else to do during that time rather than watch that!

I agree...I would watch it if it had a different host...no way can I sit and watch Monica Lewinsky!!

Nope, not gonna happen! ;) I guess she can't get a job anywhere else.

I will be passing on the Mr. Personality too. There are too many good and funny shows on Monday night to waste time on that. I taped King of Queens, Yes Dear, and Everybody Loves Raymond last night so I could watch the finale of Married by America and they all had me cracking up this morning. I'll be sticking to those shows on Monday from now on :D .
