you saw my not so good side then. LOL! Were you in the single riders line as well? It was practically walk on both times. I loved it. You should've said hi.

So surreal that you are in NYC and have the possibility of having Irene effect you! Will also be thinking of you!

In May you gave me advice for where to eat in NYC, and I absolutely adore your city! I must go back to live there if not visit! My favorite city in the entire world!

I have been MIA because while in NYC resulting from a minor back injury I wound up flat on my back for most of the trip with TWO bulging disks! It was soooo painful, but lots of flat buildings to rest on saved me! I (stupidly) ventured to the top of the Statue of Liberty.. yes to the crown, with those two bulging disks Later in the day we couldn't hail a Taxi for "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" so I walked from 45 & 5th to the Hirschfeld Theater. It was a wonderful play, but after that I was done for the rest of the trip! The view of the building next door became my view of NYC.

Now I am due to go back to Disney in 14 days, and I am still trying to heal from these dumb disks! I stayed away because I couldn't stomach the thought of reading about Disney if we couldn't go, but I have decided that I am going to move heaven and earth to go in two weeks, so I am excited to have your TR to read as I continue to rest my back! Yay!

Thanks again for your advice, wish I could have tried some places, but I will next time!

I can't believe your luck! Go to Disney, come home get hit by an earthquake and a hurricane in the same week! Hope your family is safe during this scary time! Keep us updated!

Hi Brook!

Glad to read on FB that you're okay. Now, on to the next TR!! :cool1:

*ETA: Every time my eye catches this TR title I can't help thinking of The Princess Bride. (Mawwage!) Ha! Ha!

Hi all!
I apologize for not getting back here sooner. Despite the "boring" day, I found myself quite busy!

Hurricane Irene has come and gone and the worst incident for our household was that Henry's bedroom had about 7 spots dripping. So, we hope the landlords won't have to rip out the ceiling, but the one spot has dripped in the past and they thought they repaired it. :headache: We'll see what happens!

The hurricane was much more tame than I expected-at least in our neighborhood. It seems as if it hit New Jersey and Long Island much harder than NYC. We never lost power and the worst of it was around 4 AM when we had a tornado warning and some really intense wind and rain. A few trees in the neighborhood are down, and there is some flooding, but overall - businesses are open and people are returning to normal life!

Earlier today we took about a 2 hour walk around the neighborhood, HERE are the pictures if you'd like to take a look.

I have some serious catching up to do around here - including on my own thread! I will be back soon! Thank you for your patience! :flower3:

Again, I'm so happy that Hurricane Irene seems to have passed us all with minimal damage. And I actually found out that schools are close tomorrow, so I can get some serious work in tomorrow. :woohoo:

Love that Henry fell asleep on the way out of AK. We didn't have the greatest experience there this year, which made me sad...but it was just one of those days. :sad2: I can't wait to return there sans child so that I can take more pictures and soak in all that beautiful atmosphere.

We had a great time at DTD this past trip, which I wasn't expecting. Max also made a bee line for the Lego store...shocking, I know!

Good to know the damage wasn't that bad in NYC. I am headed there September 15th to visit my friends and am really excited. My first non Disney Vacation in two years.

Hope you don't mind I added you on Facebook! Now with you being a Disney travel agent I can get first hand information!;)

I saw your pictures on facebook. Glad you guys weren't affected by it too much. :)

I've been keeping up with you guys via Facebook and am happy that you received no major damage. Hopefully, the landlord can get the leaks fixed quickly.

Brook, we saw the photos on FB -- amazing. I'm so glad you and the family are well. I hope the repairs for Henry's room are done soon.

I took that walk with you through your pictures a little earlier. I bet Henry thought all that water was pretty crazy! I'm glad you didn't get hit too hard. :thumbsup2
