Marriage: The Trip Report - Update 2/28 - Final Thoughts & Link to Disneyland TR!

Great update, Brook. I jumped on it when I saw it, as we were there not that long ago. I wish Max enjoyed petting zoos as muchas Henry obviously did. Adorable pictures, too.

I need to invest in that 4 Parks 1 World CD  I NEED those songs!!
That was a cute update! LOVE the Rhino picture! Henry is so stinkin' cute!
I haven't been to Rafiki's Planet Watch in a long time... I really should spend time there next time.
Henry looks like he loved the goats, too!

We really enjoy going over to RWP...I know some people think it is "boring" but we don't. Plus there are a TON of hidden mickeys!

I haven't checked out the bathroom though, but I think I need to! :lmao:

Yeah for pixie dust with the train on the way back! I love how you captured so many details at the station! :thumbsup2

That stuffed sheep freaks me out, looks a little bizarre.

I am happy that you started moving things along. :thumbsup2

Henry looks so cute with the goats!!

I have never been out to see Rafiki's Planet Watch either. I really do need to spend more time in AK. Love that with all there is to look at, it is Spidey sneaks that capture Henry's attention. Too cute!!!

We went up to Rafiki's Planet Watch for the first time last October. I couldn't get over what all was up there!

Notice where Henry's attention is in this pic. The boy's Spiderman shoes!

When you look really quick, the kid's legs in the top of the second picture look like they belong to Henry from the top. :rotfl2:

Great update! I love the bathroom at RPW too!

We went to Rafiki's Planet watch last year. I think we went to late in the day for anything to be happening though but we did meet Jimini and Rafiki and Pocahantas

Reaaaaaaaaally?! They might have added them! :hyper:

This really excites me too! I was certain the only place you could get them was at AKL!

Bummer that the bird never came out for the check up. To me that is the big appeal of going out there in the morning, the chance to see the vets at work :thumbsup2 Of course, I never make it out there in the morning because I'm always running between EE & the safari

Hahaha I love your subtle nudge towards getting things done faster! DBF would have caught on to me right away .

I've never been to Rafiki's Planet Watch - I always thought it was an area more for little kids. It does look like they have cute things there, and those bathrooms are too funny!

I wonder if Joe did catch on, but didn't say anything...

Rafiki's is definitely more geared for the younger crowd; but it's still pretty interesting, and the lines to meet the characters are often pretty short! The surgery area is very cool if you can catch it!

I love Rafiki's planet watch, but I have to say that you guys skipped over my favorite part- the little monkeys (I think they are Tamarins?) right after you exit the train!

I could just stand there and watch them for hours, they are soooo stinkin' cute! When my DH went to Columbia, I asked him to bring me one home. He brought me home an emerald ring, and while that was an absolutely lovely gift, I kinda wanted the monkey

Next trip we'll get Everett over there, I think the goats would be a big hit, glad to see Henry had so much fun!

Yes, this time we just skipped everything and scurried up the path! Last time we looked at everything and really took our time going up to the main building. I can't remember, but I'm pretty sure we probably stopped for a brief moment to watch the monkeys, I can't imagine us not!

The goats really are fun, it's not really any different than your local petting zoo, but still nice!

Great update, Brook. We haven't been to Rafiki's Planet in forever; I didn't even know they had a vet area. :sad1:

Henry looks like he really enjoyed petting/brushing the goats.

The vet area is very cool - I know Mary and her girls got to see a lion there recently!

We had such a great time playing at the Conservation Station in January. Kadence (my 7 yr old) actually did a small report on what she'd seen and done there for school, (Teacher asked for something so DD wouldn't have to do make up work)

We did get sucked into buying a Baby Dumbo there, but I secretly think baby Dumbo is the cutest animal I've ever seen!

That is FANTASTIC about your DD doing a report on the Conversation Station! I love that! And that's just another reason I love Disney-it's actually educational, you get to learn while you play! :thumbsup2

 about baby Dumbo! They are pretty stinkin' cute, I agree!

Brook - I loved your video! It was really good! I want to stay there now. Please make one like that for OKW before I stay there in December. :goodvibes

Fun update. Strange vet appointments - that's for sure! :rotfl: Henry looks like such a young man in those pictures. He is such a cutie!

Thank you! :goodvibes It was a lot of fun to make. And YES! I better have my OKW done before December. I'll try to get that one done first, I know Jen will be staying there in October as well (unless the waitlist comes through :teeth:)

Great update, Brook. I jumped on it when I saw it, as we were there not that long ago. I wish Max enjoyed petting zoos as muchas Henry obviously did. Adorable pictures, too.

Thank you! Henry is VERY into zoos and animals lately. When I took him to the Central Park Zoo the other day he was running from animal to animal, "What's this Mommy?" I was exhausted! But, this interest really just came about this year, at around age 3.5 before that he would just watch and we'd have to encourage him to touch or pet.

The CD is great! I'm so glad I bought it! Sometimes listening to it makes me a bit wistful though if I don't have a trip in the plans. :rolleyes1

:thumbsup2

The bathroom is AWESOME! I love the reading materials on the back of the stall doors! :rotfl:

The station for Rafiki's is very cool-last time we were there I took a ton more pictures, so many little details.

That stuffed sheep freaks me out, looks a little bizarre.

I am happy that you started moving things along. :thumbsup2

Henry looks so cute with the goats!!

:rotfl2: I thought he was kinda cute! But then again, I'm a little strange sometimes and am attracted to odd things....;)

I have never been out to see Rafiki's Planet Watch either. I really do need to spend more time in AK. Love that with all there is to look at, it is Spidey sneaks that capture Henry's attention. Too cute!!!

Rafiki's is cute, but not a must do - to me anyway. There are some neat details, and the mural when you first walk in is very cool (with lots of Hidden Mickeys), but it's a small, simple area. Someday when you have extra time to kill, go for it! You get to see some backstage animal areas too.

We went up to Rafiki's Planet Watch for the first time last October. I couldn't get over what all was up there!

It is surprising how much they have back there, isn't it?! I wonder if they will eventually change the area a bit and have some attractions back there too, so the train leads to more than just Rafiki's. :confused3 Who knows!

When you look really quick, the kid's legs in the top of the second picture look like they belong to Henry from the top. :rotfl2:

Great update! I love the bathroom at RPW too!

:lmao: That's hilarious! I didn't even notice that, but you are right!!!

We went to Rafiki's Planet watch last year. I think we went to late in the day for anything to be happening though but we did meet Jimini and Rafiki and Pocahantas

We usually don't make it back there in time for the surgeries either - and the one time we do, they don't have one. Henry never wants to wait in line for the characters-other than Buzz Lightyear. The other times we have done it, I've just told him that is what we are going to do! I think he might like meeting Jiminy now though-he had no idea who he was back during this trip!

If I remember, I will do the research in 13 days. :thumbsup2 I will report live on Facebook - since this is a serious matter!

That is the reason we went back right away too-I really wanted to catch a surgery...but all well! This trip we won't be doing Rafiki's since our time at AK is limited.

I've never gotten off the train at Rafikis planet watch. I'm not sure why? :confused3

I was probably too lazy to lug the stroller and the diaper bag and everything off the train. :rotfl:

Henry is doing a great job at brushing the goat and checking out the shoes. He is multi-tasking. Not very men can do those sorta things. You have taught him well! :lmao:

Nice coloring Henry! :thumbsup2

Some people never/rarely go to Rafiki's, but it's pretty much a must for us every trip. We usually do the safari, walk the Pangani Trail, and then go to Rafiki's. We enjoy see whatever procedure they are doing for the morning, getting some pictures with the regular characters that hang out there, and seeing whatever small animals the handlers bring out to the center of the room. Brooklynn loves to brush the goats, and I like to browse the gift shop for things for school.

If I worked in Disney World, this is where I would like to work. I think I could enjoy a job where I got to talk to kids about animals all day. :)

Henry looks like he had plenty of fun. :goodvibes So cute that he was checking out the Spiderman 'kicks'.

There were no zebra domes as Kusafiri when we were there a few weeks ago. There was a zebra cupcake, though.

When you look really quick, the kid's legs in the top of the second picture look like they belong to Henry from the top. :rotfl2:

Great update! I love the bathroom at RPW too!

that is so funny!! :rotfl:

are you accepting friends! I so need a live report!!! :rotfl:;)

We like Rafiki's, we actually really like AK.. I know a lot of people don't, but we like it for the slower pace.. its a good park to put in between all the days, it makes you slow down.. of course we slow down after we do the mad dash and ride EE 5x in a row!!:rotfl:

It is surprising how much they have back there, isn't it?! I wonder if they will eventually change the area a bit and have some attractions back there too, so the train leads to more than just Rafiki's. :confused3 Who knows!

One of the rumors I heard was that "more" was going on back there. I hope so, it would be a great addition.

Henry is a great goat brusher. :goodvibes

We've only been back there once. Claire liked it, but I didn't think it was anything great. I'm sure we'll make it back in the future again to check it out.

Yes, I do think Joe and Charles would tour quite nicely together. :lmao:

I adore that train station to Rafiki's -- there are so many cool details there! I took a ton of pictures when we were there last time.

Hurray for time with the goats! Henry looks like he is taking his grooming responsibilities very seriously.

Poor snake swallowing a golf ball -- he probably thought it was an egg of some sort. :(

Hi Brook! Love the AK pics, esp of the Tree of Life.

Henry looks like he is having such a great time at Rafiki's Planet Watch - sounds like a great experience!

:woohoo: on it being 12 days until your trip!!!
