Marriage License via Mail Order or going to the Court House

Hello!

My fiance and I are torn on if we should just go to the court house when we arrive in Disney or use the "Say I Do" Wedding service where you mail everything in. I called the court house and they said it can take up to 1 1/2 hours to complete everything and we were wondering if this is true for we are planning to go Mon or Tue before our wedding. If any one used the service or went to court house, any details would be greatly appreciated.

Don't do either! We used Brevard County's mail service for our license. You only have to pay the cost of the license ($93.50), and it was pretty fast. If you fill out their information form and mail that in first, they will prepare the application to marry and send it back to you. Once you get it notarized and mail it back, they will send you the license and you are ready to go.

It took maybe three weeks for us, and that included having to send it back an extra time because they spelled DH's last name incorrectly. Plus, we did ours 60 days in advance since the finalized license is good for 60 days.

We are doing the same thing, I have just filed out the form and am waiting to send this in over the summer, as our wedding is not until December 2010. I don't want to be too early.

I third that! Although it usually only takes about 20 minutes to get your license at the courthouse, why hassle with going all the way out there right before your wedding? There will be plenty of other things on your plate in the days beforehand.

We went directly through Brevard County, and it was cheap and easy! Just know that they won't take your info until about 2 months before the wedding.

as someone who stood in line..just mail it!

We went to the local courthouse and waited in line for 1 hour..it was busy the day we picked to go!
