Hi all,
just thought I'd share my recent experience. The process of getting our license by mail was pretty simple. I gave myself a panic attack by waiting until we were actually at 60 days to send in for the license not knowing that the stuff you download from the website is just a info sheet and they have to send you the actual paperwork to fill out afterwards. 2 things that I thought was weird about the process:
1. I got paperwork back through email with both of our SS# on it!!!! I was always told that email is no considered secure and should not be use to send sensitive information. I was really surprised that this happened with a local government.
2. We got our license back 1 week after mailing in our notarized copy.... as well as the license of another couple in a separate envelope. Somehow the 2nd envelope got our address label on it as well... and their license had their SS# on it!
I'm surprised that the clerk's office doesn't use registered mail for these sorts of things to keep track of where these licenses are going!
So I guess the point is: if your license doesn't show up within a reasonable amount of time, definitely check to make sure it's actually on its way to you. Not sure what we can do about the SS# being emailed..
