This was not our first meal here, but it had been awhile since our last visit.
As usual it was a good meal and we enjoyed it.
They had a different belly dancer, who like the last one was very good.

Walking into MARRAKESH from the summer heat was like being in an oasis. The only thing missing was an indoor fountain.

It was very himd and sunny out. We started with mint ice tea, which is so good there. mmmmmmm They could just bring a pitcher of that.
The bad side, I was so hot and thirsty I guzzled down two glasses. Hence when my food arrived I was not that hungry. (Between fluids and heat.)
Of course the good side is I brought home my leftovers and will have a very nice meal tomorrow. ;)

The bread was very good and fresh.

We did not order appetizers.

DH had his usual -- Lamb Shank Couscous - lamb shank, slow cooked $23.95. MARRAKESH couscous is hard to beat. Good stuff. And he was pleased with his meal. He ate it all.

I on the other hand was sitting there knowing I would not eat much after guzzling down more mint ice tea.
I ordered Night in Casablanca - Roast Lamb Meshoui, Chicken Kebab, and Seafood Bastilla $24.95
Very good.
I ate the Seafood Bastilla. It had like a creamy dill sauce over it that really added to it. Of course I LOVE creamy dill sauce anyway. ;) (Seafood Bastilla - Baked layers of thin pastry stuffed with grouper, shrimp, mushrooms, vermicelli, onions and egg.)
It had a fishy taste. But not strong.
I ate one piece of the chicken kabob. Good. It was laying in a tomatoey sauce. I am not big on the acidic taste of tomatoes. But it was fine. Had green pepper flavor too in the sauce, which I also do not care much for. ;)
In the center was a small pile of rice with some corn mixed in. It was okay. It was rice with a little corn. Tasted good with the Roast Lamb Meshoui.
But I like their couscous so much better.
The roast lamb was very good. I did find chunks of bone that I thought were mushrooms. So use some caution if you order this. Esp if a young one will eat some.
Overall good. I think I would have liked what DH ordered better. But mine was good.

The service was okay. Slow at times. But I think we also hit it at shift change.
More informal CMs than many WDW restaurants. Not saying that is bad. Just different than what you see elsewhere.

I would have enjoyed my food more had I not been too full from drinking ice tea. Plus on the way down I had an iced coffee.

But I am looking forward to my leftovers! :jester:

We thought we would try them again around Thanksgiving and go for a Feast. :sunny:

Yum! I've really wanted to try MARRAKESH the last several times we've been down there. My DH is such a picky eater and now that I'm vegetarian I'm afraid that it would be a wasted dinner. The mint iced tea sounds great though. I wish I had some here to make right now! Thanks for the report!!

Luckymomma, Marrakesh has a great vegetarian couscous. I'm sure there are other vegetarian entree's available, but not being vegetarian I haven't paid close attention to their offerings.

I love going to Marrakesh and like the OP, I've always found it to be an oasis from the heat and crowds.

We are going to be dining at Marrakesh for our Candlelight Processional Package! Glad to see a good review!

We ate here a couple of years ago, and can't wait to try it again!
