We're travelling with our DS (9 months) and getting into Orlando Airport tomorrow at ~6P.

Does anyone know how close the nearest supermarket would be to pick up baby food, diapers, etc. so we don't have to travel with them?

Thanks much !!!

There is not a regular grocery store (such as Public or Winn-Dixie) right by the airport. There is a Walgreen's drug store a mile or so directly north of the airport.

Are you renting a car? Taking Mears/Disney transportation? Using a towncar service?

Are you heading to the port that evening? Are you staying at an airport area hotel? Are you first visiting WDW?

The grocery store advice you get will depend on the answers to these questions.

Horace,

Thanks for replying.

We're staying at the Hyatt tomorrow night and then taking the Dis bus to the port on Saturday morning.

We're not renting a car as we get in at 6P.

There is a WalMart about 3 miles up Semoran Blvd from the airport. I believe this is the address:

Wal-Mart Store #1084
3838 S Semaron Blvd
Orlando, FL 32822

There is a Publix in the same shopping center:

4048 S Semoran Blvd
Orlando, FL 32822-4062
Main: (407) 277-3607
Pharmacy: (407) 277-4848

Hope this helps. A taxi shouldn't be too expensive.

Have a wonderful cruise. We always stop at the Walgreens!

Unless you rent a car or take a taxi, You will not have access to a grocery store. The Disney bus won't stop at a grocery store, and there's nothing in walking distance from the airport or the Disney Cruise Terminal.

Kitster gave good advice about WalMart and Publix. The question is, how can you get there?

Via taxicab. As long as they don't keep the cab waiting for them, round-trip shouldn't much more than $10 - $15. I know that seems like a lot, but lugging diapers and babyfood aboard a plane is worse, IMHO.

You could also check out the bus schedules for the area. Maybe LYNX runs between the airport and Lake Fredrica center....I just don't know. We always rent a car while in Orlando.
