Mario Kart or mini games first?

We're going early January on a weekday. Early entry is at 9am (park opens at 10). Many people recommend mini games first, then Mario Kart, is that still a good idea? The other thing we really want to do it Harry potter land. Thanks!
 
I'd say so. The mini games are kinda silly when you're still in a long line watching people do them over and over before you get your turn.

Best to get them over with and then the ride is worth the wait, which will still be decent at that time. Plus, the queue is actually worth exploring at a nice pace since there's a lot of details to admire.
 
What about the upstairs section? Can we do that fairly easily after the Mario Kart ride?
 
We did the games first for awhile in the early hour... we had to wait a bit for Mario once we got there (right before they let everyone else in) but I think that was the right call. Mario has single rider too I think. We did the rest pretty easily after Mario land. Especially if not a busy day, should be easy!
