Just got off the Wonder this AM and to my surprise was the Mariner of The Seas docked right next to us.

So glad since we are going in 3 weeks and don't want to drive to Miami.

Mariner of the Seas is just huge!! We drove by PC this past June to take a peek at the DCL and it was docked next to the Wonder. Looks like it has five more decks than the Wonder.

Youre about right, disneyfan. The Mariner has 15 decks. I cant speak from experience, but I have been researching that ship recently and from the website Ive seen it has 15.
This may be a stupid question, but doesnt it always sail out of Pt Canaveral? That was one of the reasons I started looking into that ship in a quest for a replacement for DCL. ;)

Hi, I was just wondering if you could pm me when you get back from your trip on the Mariner. We usually sail on the Magic with our two young kids but wanted a change. I am hoping the kids will be happy on the Mariner and would love to get another Diser's opinion. Thanks and have a wonderful time.

We are going on the Mariner next October and will be leaving from Port Canaveral. I wish I could have seen it, but I guess I can wait a year.

I would also love a PM with any info on the Mariner if you don't mind. Have fun!

Instead of PMing anyone can you do a quick trip report about the ship? I think there are alot of us looking elsewhere, with DCL going on the West Coast in 2005.

TIA

You mean you have to wait 3 WHOLE WEEKS for another cruise? Man... life is hard! :hyper:

Seriously, have a great time and please let us know what you think vis-a-vis DCL.

Sam

I will definitely write a trip report when we get back.

The reason I was thrilled it was back in Port Canaveral (It's home port) is that since Hurricaine Francis it was the only ship not allowed back in PC (until this am) due to its enormous size and the influx of sand in the channel.

The Mariner usually sails out of Miami, according to the RCL book I have. The Sovereign of the Seas usually sails out of PC. We are booked on the Sovereign in December. I know it is in dry dock soon, maybe that is why the Mariner is there instead.

Whoops, my bad, its the Majesty not the Mariner...guess its the excitement of another cruise getting to me...lol
:p

The Mariner has been sailing from PC since its Inaugural Voyage last November. It has only been at Miami the last few weeks because of the damage PC had from Hurricaine Francis. Soverign of the Seas is RCCL's older ship with 3 and 4 night saililngs. Mariner sails 7 nights Eastern alternating with Western Carribean Sun to Sun.

Oh duh! Silly me. I wasnt quite catching on there, LOL!
Like I said, Ive just begun researching that ship, so I thought there may have been more I hadnt realized yet. Thanks for clearing it up and have a great trip! :D

RCL is Raddison, who does have a Mariner ship (Seven Seas, I believe) and RCCL is Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and has the Mairner of the Seas (out of PC). So confusing!

Oops, look like this has already been addressed!

We have sailed the Mariner, along with her sisters the Explorer and Navigator. Also done Disney three times. I have a comparison of the Disney ships and the Voager class RCCL ships on my web site, along with the Compass activity sheets from our Mariner Explorer and Navigator cruises.Send me an e-mail and I can give you the link...

They are great ships ...

You will absolutely love the Mariner!! We just cruised w/ her this past June 20th...first cruise that was non-Disney. We liked RCCL and will definitely do it again.. My kids are older now and were getting bored on DCL. The ship is huge and overwhelming at first..you get use to everything by the end of the week!! The entertainers and entertainment was great and like it better than DCL also...however we are NOT Disney fanatics so that might bet the reason. I did a comparison on this board shortly after our cruise...

Forgot to mention...we saved approx 1500.-2000. for a family of 5 by booking w/ RCCL...

My DH and I, along with our 4 DC went on our first cruise(my 2nd) on the May 23, 2004 Disney Wonder and had a blast!!! As you can see, we rebooked!!!:Pinkbounc

I, along with my mom, sis, aunt, and cousin leave for the Mariner this coming Sunday, September 26. We are all excited!!! We went on the Carnival Glory last August and had a blast! This is an all girls trip, with a wide gap between ages.(my aunt is 76)

The Mariner is alot bigger than the Wonder, but I do have to say that I think that the Wonder is much prettier on the outside.(I am a Disney fanatic!) But from what I have read and heard, the Mariner is amazing on the inside, just breathtaking. I cannot wait to see for myself!

I would love to hear about your trip when you get back Carol.

MO54RN... I never got around to writing a trip report after our "Wonder" cruise. I did write the first day, but it was sooo long that I never continued. Reading about the adventures that other cruisers experience is something that I love to do! Maybe I can write about my day at the end of each evening?!?! This way it would be easier to post as soon as I return. :teeth:
