We were at VWL this past December and I recall a sign at the marina about a "family length of stay plan." I think it was $200 for a family of 5 and included unlimited use of watermice, pontoon boats, sailboats, and regular bikes (not surrey bikes).

Has anybody ever done this? do the 5 family members have to be in the same nuclear family or does extended family count? do they all have to be staying in the same room? do young children count in the 5 since they won't be pedaling or driving? what if some people in the family party of 5 arrive later than the others? can they be added later as long as the total isnt greater than 5? what if you swap guests halfway through a trip? can family members be swapped?

gee, am i full of questions or what?

this seems like a great deal for a 12 night trip if you can do the things listed above.

i would have searched for previous posts on this topic, but searching disboards anymore ages me too much :)

I never knew about the length of stay plan. We usually rent the pontoon boat 1 or 2x a visit. But if what you say is true we'll be sooo interested in doing this also. You asked all the questions needing an answer and I sure do hope someone answers them for us. I'm glad you posted this. I'm also wondering if we should or could make prior ressies for this, or if it has to be done when we're down there. Also, what if it rains are we reimbersed anything. Thanks again.

I know what you're talking about, when we were there in December we got the 4 hour plan for 120.00, which covers the same thing as the length of stay plan you're talking about... At the time, we were a party of 2 adults & 2 children... we had guests with us that were local & they were 3 adults & 1 child... It was no problem signing us all up under our 1 room number...
If there is a limit of five, it definitely doesn't apply to kids since we had five adults & 3 kids....

I had not heard of this before.......sounds great!!!
So I too am interested in the answers. ;)
Also, is this something that is available at other resorts??
We are staying at CBR and Poly, they have the boats too and we do plan to rent them.
Could you have one plan to cover your entire stay even if switching resorts??
Thanks to anyone that has done this plan and can give us the info. :D

They used to have this at CBR. We shared it with my brother's family. Only limitation was no more than five of us (we had a party of eight) could be using the watercraft at the same time.

We were there for two weeks, so it was really worth it.

Hey OhioMickey,

You don't have to be the same nuclear family & you don't have to be in the same room....

Our guests were in an OKW studio & we were in a 1 bedroom... Our guests were also leaving on a different day & we were not related at all....

Hope this helps, not sure if you had any other questions...

I think someone asked about using the plan while switching resorts mid-stay... that can't be done... once you leave your first resort, your length of stay plan is over....
