Maries' last day of meet and greets in MK is

Do kids today really know who Marie is or do they just think she's a giant white cat? Marie's too '70s and old school Disney. I think Stitch is more relevant.

My 8 year old has loved Marie since she was about 2, and the little kids at my job (an elementary school) know who she is. There is also merchandise with her on them at Target and other places.

She is popular. Who doesn't like a cute cat?

Until this thread, I didn't know who Marie was. I don't think I've ever seen aristocats.

Boooo! I had heard rumblings but was hoping this wasn't true.

My DD9 loves Marie! She had three M&Gs on her list for this trip, including Marie and, of course, Lady Tremaine. :crazy2:

Stay strong, Mulan!

I'm not a fan of the movie and my sister has never seen it, but we both love Marie! What's not to like about an adorable cat with pink bow? We didn't have time to meet her on our two WDW visits (she always had a long line!), and now I'm sad that we never will. Guess it's a good thing I didn't buy my sister the Disney Japan Marie dress for future pictures...

I think that many kids grow up on older Disney movies. Many are available on Netflix, in fact. That's how my daughter has seen The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Robin Hood, The Rescuers, and more.

She also loooooves the Aristocats. It was probably her first favorite movie. She adores Marie and has a Marie necklace. I made her a dress out of this fabric for our upcoming trip... I guess she'll wear it to Epcot now!

The nickel and diming continues.

So depressing, is all.

That's how I feel too. We leave in 23 days and this April trip is a mess. Things keep changing, can't nail things down - to some degree I expect that but seem worse this time - and the character stuff is really bothering me. Marie is really bothering me! My daughter was really excited about it! When I told her about Lady Tremaine she said, "Well, at least there's Marie!"

Am so glad that Stitch is coming back, was worried the only way I'd see him in September would be at Ohana. Am sad that Marie will no longer be meeting and greeting anywhere in WDW as she is a cutey. Guess it's yet another bad choice Disney are making with their changes.

What a bummer. The Aristocats is one of my favorite movies. I saw it in the theater with my dad when I was little, and then he ran all over Boston to get the soundtrack (a record!) for me for my birthday. I've watched it several times with my daughter - it totally holds up and she loves it too!

I always wished that Berlioz and Toulouse would have been able to meet as well. The cat in my avatar is named Toulouse. Having the three of them available in France in Epcot would be so adorable.

If Disney wants to offer all these expensive events, I wish they would do a rare character party.

Here's of a photo of Marie waving at the guests one last time at the Magic Kingdom.

This makes me sad as I'm just now hearing of it.
I love Marie.
I was also just in Brazil and Marie is everywhere -- if there is something with a princess on it, there's something right next to it with Marie on it.

Awe man!!! We love Marie!! I love the movie... sadness...

I may be in the minority but I am not a big Stitch fan but my niece loves him. But she loves Marie too.

The times I have been there has always been a fairly long line for her. No reason why they couldn't leave her there and have Stitch in Tomorrowland...

I love Marie! Stitch should never have left the MK. Why cant he go back to meeting in Tomorrowland like he used to and keep Marie where she is?
I think Marie has been meeting in Town Square for around 3-4 years now?
Maybe the powers that be wanted a change.

I think they should have both.

Seriously? Wow I'm really upset about this. She is the one character I always try to meet on every trip. I wish she would go back to France in Epcot.

Yep to all of the above! Marie is a classic, while I'm happy to hear about Stitch I'm astounded that they would "retire" Marie. I would have been ok with Marie going back to her spot in France which I loved seeing while in Epcot. Any word if she will be going back there? Very sad to see another classic go!

There's even a Manga called "Miriya & Marie" which is also available in Brazil and Japan.
