Marie! The Baguette's! HURRY UP! - 14 days of Dining > Land and Sea!< UPDATED 12/5!

I'm a big fan of Beauty and the Beast and Warwick Davis and we're doing a land and sea vacation for our anniversary next year so I can't wait to read more!

so if you read my last dining report, you know we like to drive. why? i have no idea, it's 18 hours of me being forced to listen to weird al music :scared1: or DH being forced to listen to my very crude rap music or bass breaking techno (my music varies from one extreme to the next)... well despite our differences in music (btw. I REALLY HATE WEIRD AL) we still love the drive. We stayed over in Santee, SC, which is about 12 hours out from NJ and then pick up the last 6 hours in the morning. This was our arrival day - which was surprisingly smooth sailing as opposed to last year (smokey smelling room), checked in, unpacked.. uhmm..

i'm hungry

prior to just leaving i noticed that pop had updated their menu, and i was like "OMG.. totes gonna try this, and this and this and that, and this, and THAT!" DH was like "no." he was obvi implying that we had so many ADRs that how would i find the time to eat at the pop food court. the look i gave him was kind of like an ..OH DONT YOU WORRY I WILL MAKE TIME!

ill just cancel our BOG ressie for the pop food court. no probs

i kid. i kid

but fo'rill. i was hungry, so i was gonna bust out my handy iphone notepad (because that is where i kept my super top secret list of delicious, wonderful, tasty treats, i was planning on getting) and low and behold, the shrimp and goat cheese flatbread was just flashing in front of me..

off i go, dh in tow.. not like he was gonna eat, he just was gonna leave me there to eat by myselfffffffffffff.. i'm still bitter

so im looking around the food court. no flatbread. .. come onnnnn

so i opted for something else that i had my eye on

this was a salmon burger with a cold pasta salad

this was actually pretty good. the first few bites im like.. ehhhh not sure how i feel about this, but halfway into it i was like mmmmm mmmm. it had a spicy kind of mayo on top which they could have added a little more to give it a kick and for the side i could have chosen fries or pasta salad (i told myself i was going to try and steer clear of fries for the most part this trip... yea its only day 1) - but the pasta salad was also really good, it was really basic and i believe just tossed in some olive oil with tomatoes.. simple but good!:thumbsup2

*oh and right after we checked in to pop we actually went to DTD to upgrade our tickets to annual passes and bough the tables in wonderland card*

andddd you can you TIW at the pop food court.. thankyouverymuchdontmindifido!

that night we headed to MK, we strayed from our normal tradition of going to Teppan Edo at Epcot the first night, where we are always caught in a torrential downpour. never fails. but we decided to change this year and do Tony's Town Square... which gets NO LOVE on the dis, and all the haters come out.. you would think Tony himself came out and threw down a plate of moldy mozz stix, the way people get all worked up over this joint. i'm a full blooded italian from part of the country with the most delicious italian food, so if i can enjoy it, we can all just calm down and give tony's another chance lol.

the plan was to check in and ask to be seated on the patio cause we had a late ressie like 8:15ish, and i figured by the time we were seated and we started to eat the parade should be starting. well, i requested it and of course they make no guarantees.. sure sure.. and were waiting and i'm positive we're getting on that patio, they call our names and

no sorry we could not accommodate you

i probably should have been more clear in that i was willing to wait until it was available, but of course they sit us right next to the glass on the inside giving me a front row seat to see all the EMPTY PATIO SEATS..huh? like really people, if your not giving me the patio don't taunt me and stick me right outside of it... put me as far away as possible.. BUT. tony..you and me, we're still cool. can't even hate on you bro.

*just as a disclaimer, i became pretty dang lazy on this trip in not wanting to carry around my nikon, so a good deal of the food pics are from my iphone, so you know how sometimes they can be so grainy. its just ridic *

Dan will take a sprite.. and for the child, an Ariel Souvenir cup...oh no, no child just me

bread, i love bread, this was HOT AND FRESH and the oil to dip in, i can just feel my tooshie widening..

Calamari - Tossed with Olive Relish and served with a side of Marinara sauce

this was hideatrocious ... a dash of hideous with a hint of atrocious. it was really rubbery, barely friend, and excuse me.. WHERE ARE THE ONES WITH THE TENTICLES! those are my favorite.. dan hates them and i love them, it why we work so well as a couple. tony i'm sorry... your calamari tastes like it came from a box.. get it together

Spaghetti - with Meatballs and Marinara sauce

how generic. LOL. but he liked it, he said he was just in the mood for it.

Mushroom Ravioli - housemade daily with a pesto cream sauce and garnished with toasted pine nuts, baby spinach and crispy leeks

THIS. THIS. THIS. :woohoo: tony, you did good. even though it was the first night i was convinced this would be my favorite meal of the trip! the ravioli's were SO tasty and there were little fried onions mixed in that were the most delicious little bits of onion heaven and on top of that the pine nuts made it crunch.. overall SO YUMMY.

we got to see some of the parade through the window, not like we havn't seen this parade a million times... and we had to have seen it at least 15x during this trip alone..

every where we were it felt like i was hearing that ..."doot doot dooo" you know how it goes..

we were pretty tired and the next morning was AK so we thought we'd get some ice cream and head back. we stopped at the plaza ice cream parlor and then went down to that "rose garden" to sit and eat

mine.. the child's size ice cream.. ONLY BECAUSE IT CAME WITH CHOCOLATE MICKEY EARS. but it really wasn't child size.. like it was a good enough portion, i totally forget what flavor this was, it was like some special they had for the day.

and dan's "all american" sundae...which he ate way too fast.. like slow down, enjoy it. he did enjoy it though, in his own fast, brain freeze kind of way

.. and so begins the downward spiral of ice cream addiction.

she was such a nice girl

so much has changed since she started eating ice cream

ice cream has negatively affected her life in the following ways

if you do not seek treatment from your addiction to ice cream, i will no longer be able to continue allowing you to ....

okay lets not get ahead of ourselves, i'm AT LEAST....2 more trips away from being a full blown ice cream addict. right. i don't have a problem. i'm a fully functioning chick who enjoys the occasional social aspect of eating ice cream :rolleyes1

okay, i'm gonna go eat some ice cream now and i'll leave you with a weird al song.. even though i DESPISE him.. this song just fits

i love rocky road

I hear those ice cream bells and I start to drool
Keep a couple quarts in my locker at school
Yeah, but chocolate's gettin' old
Vanilla just leaves me cold

There's just one flavor good enough for me, yeah me
Don't gimme no crummy taste spoon
I know what I need

Baby, I love rocky road
So weren't you gonna buy half a gallon, baby
I love rocky road
So have another triple scoop with me, ow

.. ok i was borderline going to be removed from the park for my need to be near warwick.. i was thinking of waiting by his signing tent and then when someone asked who i was .. i'd just be like.." oh warwick and I are best friends, no it's totally cool if i stay here.. really i'm fine, and i'll take a bottle of water.. thanks." the plan was a work in progress haha

I see no loop holes or issues with that plan at all. Act like you know what you're doing and most people will never question you :rolleyes1

aaaaannnndd after your update, my non-Ariel-festooned beverage is no longer cutting it. Harumph!:upsidedow

I haven't eaten at Tony's. The reviews are just so routinely terrible. But if it were that bad all the time, it seems like Disney would do something about it? IDK. If Si & Am were featured more instead of those silly dogs, I might make an exception.... let's be honest, they were the REAL stars of that movie!

Ok first of all, that Tonys Calamari was not "whatever word she said"...it was good...not great, not the best...but it was definitely NOT horrible!

Secondly, she says she hates weird al, but i hear her laughing at the songs and singing some of the lyrics....she secretly loves him, don't let her fool you all!

Great start - me and my 10 year old DS are like you and your DH with calamari - my DS eats the tentacles while i like the rings. He is a much better dinner date for me than my hubby.

Yours is the second review of rubbery calamari at Tony's that I have read today - think I will avoid. Would be great if anyone knew where you could get good calamari at Disney :)

Love the ice cream from the Plaza. I am now craving a Mickey Ears sundae.

Our second day was at Animal Kingdom, which is starting to become a tradition.. a lot of people can't stand AK, i love it.. but like 1-2 days of it.. more like 1/2 days, because thats about all of it i need, it is like south of the equator hot? what is that about.. ? at least 10 degrees hotter than any other park... i was super excited to bring my Nikon along because i'm obsessed with taking pictures of animals.

i should have been a wildlife photographer, not a prek teacher...but i guess i get to interact with little animals everyday :rotfl: >i kid i kid<

as i wrote in my last report, we tend to eat breakfast at Pop, it's just easier for us to get up earlier and eat there rather than take time out from touring. We attempt to be rope drop people.. but we prob get there like 20 min later, and the entire world is pouring through the gates

BREAKFAST

Egg White Omelet - spinach, mushrooms, tomato with strawberry and aplice slices $7.69

DOESN'T THIS LOOK SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!

welp, it wasn't :headache: .. it had SO much potential, egg whites, spinach and mushrooms and i didn't even know they were going to add cheese! like.. now that i think about it, what did i think an omlete was? i legit remember being like surprised that there was cheese inside... slowly losing my mind. but the major issue with this was ... the eggs were so wet, it was nauseating. i'm not sure how you all like your eggs but i like mine COOKED.. this was like cooked on the outside and wet cheese and wet eggs on the inside, i barely choked down half.

the strawberries were good tho! the apples melted in my mouth because they were as thin as paper. :thumbsup2

i have no clue what Dan had for breakfast, LOL... i have to get some pics off his phone, i will edit when i can get them from his comp.

off to AK!

So, i am super stoked to hop on the safari and takes some awesome pictures....we start out and there are SO MANY ANIMALS OUT!!! i turn on my camera and....

going dead :furious:

of course, no prob, ill be back with a fully charged camera.

our other new tradition is getting a delicious drink (because it is so dang hot) and watch flights of wonder! i am obsessed with this show, not sure why.. i just love seeing the birds so close, and i swear i tear up when they bring out the bald eagle. such a sap lol

Frozen Cappuccino $5.39

frozen capp from the Royal Anandapur Tea Company, this place is so cool looking, just like a little stand kind of a little ways down from flights of wonder - towards everest and off the the left! We both got frozen cappuccino's which are SOOOOOOO yummy, please get one! it comes with a standard paper straw but its all about the animals, man :hippie:

it was REALLY hot so it was melting fast.. and that's Dan's hairy leg in the pic, not mine. fyi

LUNCH

i knew exactly what i wantedddd, because i had seen this deliciousness on the dis prior to our trip and put it in my handy dandy notebook (iphone notebook, not a blues clues notebook). seriously, if you haven't started a list of must eats! you need to!

South African Quinoa Salad - Romaine lettuce, olives, feta cheese, tomatoes, chickpeas, and fried tofu, hand-tossed in a light vinaigrette and served with pita bread $8.19

this salad was at Tamu Tamu refreshments in Harambe Village.. i DEVOURED THIS.. it was seriously.. bombdotcom. everything just vibed together, and i like tofu and i love feta but i never thought to combine the two! SO YUMMY. Dan wanted to get something at Restaurontosaurus.. which is basically across the whole park so i figured my salad is cold, i can just carry it.. they didn't have a top though so i had to use another plate, not a problem, still rocked my tastebuds.

Macaroni & Cheese Hot Dog - served with choice of apple slices or fries $8.79

Dan also had a MUST EATS list and this was on it! It looks yummy for all of you carnivores.. i forgot to mention i DON'T EAT MEAT.. well i eat fish, i'm a PESCETARIAN... i don't eat land animals, and i try to eat sustainable, wild caught. I'm totally confident in saying that my husband LOVES mac and cheese, like i'm convinced it's his favorite and if we ever have another superstorm where we are without power, he would be fine surviving on mac and cheese. Needless to say, HE LOVED THIS. it was gone in 2.3 seconds, and i ate some of his fries, SO GOOD! Though, can you really go wrong with Disney fries?

We also got some ice water, i NEVER PAY FOR WATER at disney anymore, that is all i drink and now that i know you can get it for free, i can't go back to paying $3 a bottle. This was one of the determining factors as to why we didn't get the dining plan, we would have been wasting money on beverages that we wouldn't even be drinking, or we'd be stuck carrying around a bottle of water. PS this does not taste like the water fountain water.. it has to be filtered cause it just tastes normal to me!

I do have to also mention, while Dan was getting online to get his food, i went to look for a table and i sat down and then i noticed 2 EMTs, a stretcher, 2 managers all tending to a young women who looking like she might have been having some heat related issues, i could not believe how discrete they were and how they were just going about their business and doing what they needed to do. The women was fine, but i was just so impressed with how Disney handles these situations and how they just swoop in and save the day. :yay:

DINNER
We we're headed to Hollywood Studios.. we LOVE to park hop, i just like the option of bouncing around when we want to!

We had ressies for Mama Melrose, one of our favoritessss.. in our last trip report you can read that we had almost an hour wait, on top of our reservation time.. i was so thrilled when we were seated within 5 min of checking in....

karma

warm and crispy bread with olive oil to dip! MMMMMM... i like to add a little salt to the olive oil.. i know heart attack on a plate, it's okay its vaca

Caesar Salad - with crisp romaine lettuce, Caesar dressing and herb croutons $5.99

since we had calamari last night, we opted for getting Caesar salads... dan is SUCH A PICKY CAESAR SALAD EATER.. he did not like this, i did! I know he didn't like it because it was a little spicy.. i'm not sure how they make Caesar salad so spicy, but i'm sure you all have had that kind at least once.. i loved the giant crispy crouton... me and my carbs <3

Spaghetti or Penne Pasta - with choice of meatballs or chicken and choice of marinar or four-cheese sauce $18.99

this was penne pasta in a four cheese sauce with meatballs. MEATBALLS TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW. cannot even believe this guy.... LOL.. but he liked these meatballs better because they didn't have "gravy" as he says..

okay, there are two types of italians..

Dan's Type: "Gravy" refers to any kind of red sauce (w or w/out meat)
Marla's Type: Sauce.. is Sauce.. "Gravy" has meat it in

buongiorno. arrivederci.. lol americanized italian lesson over

Penne alla Vodka - with Pancetta and Sweet Onions finished with Tomato-Basil Sauce, Cream, Vodka, and Pecorino Romano $16.99; add chicken $18.99; add shrimp $20.99

<3333 Penne and Vodka, hold the pancetta and throw in some shrimp.. and this is what heaven looks like! they gave so much shrimp and big pieces!!
this was the before pic, and here is the after...

smashed that bowl.

... and normally we would have gotten dessert but there was something that was on BOTH OF OUR MUST EAT LISTS!

PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY MILKSHAKE!

Milkshakes and Malts $4.99

we are BIG PEANUT BUTTER FANS IN THIS HOUSEHOLD! so we of course hadddd to try this. we got this at the Tune In Lounge which is the little bar connected to 50's prime time cafe, it actually has it's own entrance! and you can order off the menu at the bar! pretty cool to know in case you can't get ressies anywhere and really want something good to eat!

THESE WERE UNBELIEVABLE! i mean if you could imagine a peanut butter and jelly sandwich blended into a drink, this is what you would get! .. and here is Dan before he turned to me and goes..

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

now when Dan pauses and goes MMMMMMMMMMMM, i know its A WINNER! but, Dan makes the MMMMMMMMM sound REALLY LOUD, so because when out in public we try to behave like normal members of society he reigned in the MMMMM and whispered it. but i still understood he was a fan!

.. i never wanted this shake to end!!!!!!!!!

and i thought i would share one of my favorite pics from AK..

this reminds me of the scene in the jungle book where the elephants are marching and singing "hup two three four, keep it up two three four!"

I see no loop holes or issues with that plan at all. Act like you know what you're doing and most people will never question you :rolleyes1

aaaaannnndd after your update, my non-Ariel-festooned beverage is no longer cutting it. Harumph!:upsidedow

ohhhh you and I would get along famously... you are right on my level with "how to attempt to befriend a celebrity at disney" :rotfl2:

Great start - me and my 10 year old DS are like you and your DH with calamari - my DS eats the tentacles while i like the rings. He is a much better dinner date for me than my hubby.

hahaha it just works so perfectly!

Your elephant Pic: Before I even read your caption, I immediately thought of that Jungle Book Scene!!! Love it!!

ohhhh you and I would get along famously... you are right on my level with "how to attempt to befriend a celebrity at disney" :rotfl2:

I think we could get into a serious amount of trouble, err, I mean fun. Yes, fun. Two brains are always better than one while scheming, right?

Great picture of the elephant at the end of the update - it's a total Jungle Book moment! I don't know that I've ever seen a picture of them somewhat in action, they just always seem to be standing around.

PB&J milkshake might have to make it on the must-eat list....

Woohoo, glad to read that Tony's isn't all doom and gloom. Can't wait for the rest of the report!

The salad from AK looks really good, I already forgot the name, will go back and write it down on my list. Ofcourse I have a list of food to try as well:)
Awesome report so far:thumbsup2

sorry for being pretty MIA! with the 4th of July holiday, i had like a million doctors appointments, my pooch had surgery (he's ok!) it has been hard to find some time to sit down and write, but i'm back and ready to review!

Breakfast

day 3 into the trip and i was still trying to ride my moral food high horse, thinking i could attempt to make healthy choices in disney... yeaaaa okay, i KNOW it can be done, for someone who has incredible will power, that person was not me.. though i did manage to make a healthier choice for breakfast today... also something i had on my to try list!

Create your Own Yogurt Parfait - choose from a variety of ingredients $5.59

this was one of those new items they had recently added right before we headed down, if i remember correctly.. they didn't have THAT many choices to add in.. i chose strawberries and granola, i believe they may have had a couple other fruit choices and possibly one or two other dry ingredients to add in like seeds and nuts? this was just plain vanilla yogurt.. it's not greek, which i would have preferred, but this was REALLY good.. and its a huge parfait cup, could not finish it! it was nice to eat something that wasn't so heavy and the strawberries were really sweet! :)

Chocolate Chip Pancakes with Fruit Topping, bacon and chicken sausage $7.99

Dan got his favorite chocolate chip pancakes which he devoured, they are truly yummy! i stole a bite! he also loves disney bacon, he really doesn't eat bacon that much at home so he practically eats it every morning at disney... but he is not a fan of fruit.. yeaaaa, i don't get it either... lol or sausage? so i think next time i will remind him to just ask them to omit it or extra bacon... fyi they will charge you a little less if you don't add the bacon/sausage, etc.

We headed to Epcot that morning and we had planned to spend a lot of time exploring the countries... it always seems like we just fly through them and barely even stop to look around. This trip we really took our time and discovered so many cool things, we had to have gone back to the world showcase multiple times just so i felt we had successfully seen everything! Initially i had planned to do kind of like a side report and try something from each country... we weren't sure if we were going to do food or dessert and then we thought we would do candy, since it was inexpensive and every country had something. BUT, lol - we only ended up doing two countries! i found myself more interested in taking pictures than eating candy!

we started in Canada. and i ended up skipping and saying i would come back, the only thing i had wanted to try here was the maple popcorn but it was too early to eat popcorn i though (but apparently not too early to eat candy.. see below).. but we did find this interesting thing

so here are my two candy trials!

ENGLAND

we had gotten trapped in a store during a spontaneous Florida downpour and we grabbed this orangy-chocolatey candy. THIS WAS SOOOO GOOD! i wasn't sure if i would like chocolate with orange but it was very creamy and light, i guess that has something to do with the bubbles and the fact that it's called Aero, but i'm no genius.

FRANCE

so we managed to get to France between showers and we were looking around this little coffee/candy shop and Dan picked up this nougat, and he would not leave me alone about it..i've never had a nougat before

"NOUGAT IS SO GOOD, I'VE HAD IT BEFORE!"
"LET'S GET IT.. IT'S REALLY YUMMY, YOUR GONNA LOVE IT"

now i was hesitant because it looked like a bar of soap, and here's the kicker..

it was $12!!!!

I was like, no way am i paying $12 for a piece of candy.. and then i saw these little square candies that were like $.50 and i was thinking that's more my idea.

but here comes Dan.

walking around with that nougat. swearing how good it is. trying to get in my brain. assuring me it will be so good. your gonna wish you got it.

OK

FINE

LETS GET THE #*$&$#() NOUGAT!

so as photographic evidence, you can see the nougat was purchased, eaten and the $12 price tag.

and i'm sure your all on the edge of your seats...

it was
so good!!!!
really sticky but soft almost like a marshmallow and it was flavored with honey and had slivered almonds... mmmm

after Dan had a bite, and i had a bite.. he looks up at me with a smile on his face... and he tells me

HE'S NEVER HAD A NOUGAT BEFORE.

:furious:

whaaa whaaa whattt!!!!!!!!! LIAR LIAR LIARRRRRRR!!!!!!!! he said he just really wanted to try it so he said he had it before so i'd be convinced to get it..

HE IS SO LUCKY THAT IT TASTED GOOD OR ELSE HE WOULD HAVE BEEN BANNED FROM FUTURE TASTING DECISIONS!

we continued around the country and i got some cool pics in Morrocco just from my iphone, i knew i would come back with my Nikon for the real money shots..

YOU CAN FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM
if you want to see some other non food shots from our trip! search for me:

LITTLEMISS_MARLA

here is my favorite collage

anyway... on to one of our favorite places.. Coral Reef, we asked for a seat by the tank and as usual we were told they would try but they couldn't guarantee.. we did get to sit next to the tank, i think if your with a party of 3 or less you have a better chance of sitting by the tank

LUNCH

we had a third wheel dining with us, in the bottom left corner you can see a giant stingray that had sat with us our entire lunch, he left for about 2 min and came right back

sorry for the extra dark photos, i am so not comfortable turning the flash on in already dark places ahahahaha

delicious, yummy, HOT FROM THE OVEN, bread!

Creamy Lobster Soup - tarragon and brandy $8.49

I started with the lobster soup, even though it was really hot out, it just sounded so good and it was! definitely creamy and a good lobster flavor, not overpowering and just the right sized portion!

Red Curry Vegetable and Noodle Bowl - with Gardein Chick'n Breast $18.99

I WAS SO FLIPPING EXCITED TO TRY THIS!! i love Gardein products and when i saw Disney had added them to two of their menus (the other is at 50s PT) i knew exactly what i was getting.. didn't even need the menu! If your not familiar with Gardein, it's a meat substitute, similar concept to Boca, Morning Star Farms or Quorn. This was FANTASTIC! it was VERY spicy though, so just be aware.. but the chick'n was very tender and the vegetables were delicious mixed in the curry sauce.. there were SO MANY NOODLES. it was a huge portion and i would have loved to take the rest with me to go but i never end up eating left overs at disney!

Coral Reef Lobster Orecchiette Pasta - with White Cheddar Cheese and Basil Oil $28.49

Dan's favorite at Coral Reef, he LOVES lobster and mac and cheese and this is like the ultimate mash up of his favorite foods. i'm convinced he will get this every time we go. I had this on our last trip, the lobster is nice and chunky and personally i think they could make it a little bit larger portion because it just seems like it dissapears, i'm sure though Dan will come along and say what am i talking about... blah blah.. it's more than enough.. blah blah.

totally using a stock photo for my dessert as my pic was just WAY too dark

Baileys and Jack Daniel's Mousse* - topped with caramel crisp $7.99

this is BY FAR one of my favorite desserts in all of disney! it does have alcohol in it but the flavor is incredible!!!!!! you can really taste the jack daniels in the chocolate part.. and the i believe the baileys is in the "vanilla" looking section! my favorite part is the vanilla top with the crunchy little chocolate balls! so unbelievably good.. seriously PLEASE get this if you go there, i LOVE LOVE IT

so we had to think ahead for dinner, we didn't have any reservations because we were going to the wishes dessert party later that night.. i think EVERYONE needs to go to the dessert party at least once, we go every year because i just think the atmosphere is so relaxing, i get a nice place to sit and watch wishes with an amazing view and i get to eat desserts? how can you go wrong.. i do completely understand that for larger families, financially it just seems silly.. it is like $25 -$30 per person.. where you can spend $30 and get ice cream from the plaza for the whole fam. but while it's still the two of us.. we like to splurge!

so we decided to have a quick

DINNER
we were walking down main street and Dan kind of wanted to try the corn dog nuggets from Casey's Corner.. there is nothing there for me so i was planning on going over to Columbia Harbour House, i waited outside for him and he comes walking out with cheesy nachos????? HUH.. i swear this guy keeps me on my toes. first off didn't even know they sold that there, secondly what happened to corn dog nuggets.. well he changed his mind, wasn't in the mood. so if you were hoping for a review on corn dog nuggets.. keep on lookin cause Dan dropped the ball on that one. thanks. now my readers are going to unsubscribe all because my DH can't keep his word and get corn dog nuggets... (totally kidding, guilt trip much)

Ball Park Nachos $7.69

Dan being the wonderful husband he is, carried these all the way to Columbia Harbour House just so we could eat together <3 hes just the besssstt

Anchors Aweigh Sandwich - white tuna with lettuce and tomato on toasted multigrain bun with potato chips $8.99

now when i was ordering, i CONFIDENTLY exclaimed i wanted the Anchors Aweigh Sandwich (thinking i was ordering the lighthouse sandwich - the one with hummus/coleslaw on it). so i was quite shocked when i sat down and looked and saw it was tuna.. and i was like..

OH NO.

- HOLD MY WEAVE, SOMEONE BOUT TO GET CRAY CRAY UP IN DIS HOUSE -

i carried my little sandwich back up the counter, ready to confidently explain that there had been a mistake and someone had messed my order up.. i weaved in front of people, and then i just happened to glance up at the menu board and i was like..

 you fool. i ordered the wrong thing, so i imagined that i shrunk to the size of a mouse and tried to squeeze my way out of the crowd that was most likely in shock and awe at this nut job that had just cut through the line to go up to the counter to turn around a leave without a word...

in their heads they were saying.. DO NOT SIT IN THE SAME ROOM AS HER.

anyway, dramatic episode over..

THE SANDWICH WAS GREAT! hahahahaha really i should get an award for most dramatic performance. it was a little salty but most tuna sandwiches are, it was really good. the tuna was chunky and the multigrain bread was soft, it wasn't a bun at all so i dunno why it's listed as that. the house made chips were to die for!!!! they were crunchy and NOT oily.. yum yum

DESSERT PARTY
this is at the tomorrowland terrace, if your interested in booking you have to call up disney dining and book prior to your trip, this books up fast because space is limited and most of the time it will open up a month prior. so for instance any of the days in June opened up on May 1st. any of the day's in July would have opened up on June 1st, so you can call on June 1st and say you want to book for a specific day in July. Payment is made at the time of booking, there is also a thread in the restaurant board i believe that if you subscribe to it will keep you updated when new dates open!

Dan's plate! in the little cups in the back there are 2 chocolate mousse and one cookies and cream (both are amazeballs), a brownie, 2 chocolate chip cookies (addicted to anything chocolate chip) and a little tart!

My plate! notice the difference between mine and dan's... mine is like packed to the brim, i even dropped a cookies and cream cup on the floor (MY GOODNESS YOU CAN'T TAKE ME ANYWHERE lol) in this picture starting from the left going clockwise is a little banana cream tart (delish), then it's some kind of raspberry/vanilla tart.. hidden in the back is a cannoli, towards the back right is a lemon tart! in front of that is HUGE chocolate covered strawberry (the best ones i have ever had), then a little yummy apple pie tart and another chocolate mousse and cookies and cream mousse (which i just noticed in another picture is listed as a classic cheesecake but i always thought it was cookies and cream, shows how much i know).

there are soooo many more desserts, there is ice cream, rice crispy treats, shooters, fresh fruit and truffle like balls! There is a huge drink station with ice, water, milk, juice, coffee and i even believe lemonade! i love it!

you are allowed to go and stand by the railing to watch the fireworks, they ask that no one bring chairs.. not like the people listen.... why, why wont they listen. but luckily for us we always manage to get seated up front and we really dont need to go to the railing we can see just fine.. except for one extreamly tall man who couldn't stand still and move in the exact way i tilted my head or scooted my chair.. that always happens lol.. #shortpeopleproblems

so to finish off the dessert party we kicked back and enjoyed one of the most beautiful sights

PS.. i'm looking for opinions on renting DVC points??? my parents just bought DVC but my mom banked her points for this year, and were looking to go back later in the year, i was looking on the Dave's DVC rental and it seems like the AK lodge would almost cost about the same if not a tiny bit more than staying at pop??? we also have APs so what would be better using an AP discount for hotel or renting DVC.. i'm a little hesitant because i don't know anything about renting DVC and it's not directly through disney.. but i'd love to stay at AK lodge! any thoughts??

I'd be nervous about renting points, too. But I can tell you, that AKL is amazing!!! I know that lots of people rent points, maybe theres a place on the boards where someone can recommend someone to rent from? That way you feel a little safer.

Subscribing! Currently obsessing over all the food I want to eat when we go in October, and my fiance is like "Uh...just don't feel like you have to eat all of these things, like, what if you're not hungry?" I'm going, "Since when has that been an issue for me?" :lmao:

We rented points through David's last Jan for BLT and this Dec for AKV everything went so well last year you can see your reservation as soon as its booked we did the dining plan and magical express and everything was great and WAY cheaper than booking directly! Booking this year was just as easy even though availability was really low! We loved it! Love your reviews.

I just subscribed. You're so funny, all your commentary is making me laugh. I like the penne alla vodka at Mama Melrose's too. SO good! I can't believe you let Dan talk you into a $12 candy bar from France! Totes cray-cray. I'm glad it was tasty though. I hope you've tried a carrot cake cookie from the Writer's Stop (I think that's the name of it!) in DHS. If not, add it to your list for next time if you like carrot cake and cream cheese frosting. I finally tried one for the first time last month, and I think it's my new favorite Disney snack.
