sorry for being pretty MIA! with the 4th of July holiday, i had like a million doctors appointments, my pooch had surgery (he's ok!) it has been hard to find some time to sit down and write, but i'm back and ready to review!
Breakfast
day 3 into the trip and i was still trying to ride my moral food high horse, thinking i could attempt to make healthy choices in disney... yeaaaa okay, i KNOW it can be done, for someone who has incredible will power, that person was not me.. though i did manage to make a healthier choice for breakfast today... also something i had on my to try list!
Create your Own Yogurt Parfait - choose from a variety of ingredients $5.59
this was one of those new items they had recently added right before we headed down, if i remember correctly.. they didn't have THAT many choices to add in.. i chose strawberries and granola, i believe they may have had a couple other fruit choices and possibly one or two other dry ingredients to add in like seeds and nuts? this was just plain vanilla yogurt.. it's not greek, which i would have preferred, but this was REALLY good.. and its a huge parfait cup, could not finish it! it was nice to eat something that wasn't so heavy and the strawberries were really sweet!
Chocolate Chip Pancakes with Fruit Topping, bacon and chicken sausage $7.99
Dan got his favorite chocolate chip pancakes which he devoured, they are truly yummy! i stole a bite! he also loves disney bacon, he really doesn't eat bacon that much at home so he practically eats it every morning at disney... but he is not a fan of fruit..

yeaaaa, i don't get it either... lol or sausage? so i think next time i will remind him to just ask them to omit it or extra bacon... fyi they will charge you a little less if you don't add the bacon/sausage, etc.
We headed to Epcot that morning and we had planned to spend a lot of time exploring the countries... it always seems like we just fly through them and barely even stop to look around. This trip we really took our time and discovered so many cool things, we had to have gone back to the world showcase multiple times just so i felt we had successfully seen everything! Initially i had planned to do kind of like a side report and try something from each country... we weren't sure if we were going to do food or dessert and then we thought we would do candy, since it was inexpensive and every country had something. BUT, lol - we only ended up doing two countries! i found myself more interested in taking pictures than eating candy!
we started in Canada. and i ended up skipping and saying i would come back, the only thing i had wanted to try here was the maple popcorn but it was too early to eat popcorn i though (but apparently not too early to eat candy.. see below).. but we did find this interesting thing
so here are my two candy trials!
ENGLAND
we had gotten trapped in a store during a spontaneous Florida downpour and we grabbed this orangy-chocolatey candy. THIS WAS SOOOO GOOD! i wasn't sure if i would like chocolate with orange but it was very creamy and light, i guess that has something to do with the bubbles and the fact that it's called Aero, but i'm no genius.
FRANCE

so we managed to get to France between showers and we were looking around this little coffee/candy shop and Dan picked up this nougat, and he would not leave me alone about it..i've never had a nougat before
"NOUGAT IS SO GOOD, I'VE HAD IT BEFORE!"
"LET'S GET IT.. IT'S REALLY YUMMY, YOUR GONNA LOVE IT"
now i was hesitant because it looked like a bar of soap, and here's the kicker..
it was $12!!!!
I was like, no way am i paying $12 for a piece of candy.. and then i saw these little square candies that were like $.50 and i was thinking that's more my idea.
but here comes Dan.
walking around with that nougat. swearing how good it is. trying to get in my brain. assuring me it will be so good. your gonna wish you got it.
OK
FINE
LETS GET THE #*$&$#() NOUGAT!
so as photographic evidence, you can see the nougat was purchased, eaten and the $12 price tag.
and i'm sure your all on the edge of your seats...
it was
so good!!!!
really sticky but soft almost like a marshmallow and it was flavored with honey and had slivered almonds... mmmm
after Dan had a bite, and i had a bite.. he looks up at me with a smile on his face... and he tells me
HE'S NEVER HAD A NOUGAT BEFORE.
whaaa whaaa whattt!!!!!!!!! LIAR LIAR LIARRRRRRR!!!!!!!! he said he just really wanted to try it so he said he had it before so i'd be convinced to get it..
HE IS SO LUCKY THAT IT TASTED GOOD OR ELSE HE WOULD HAVE BEEN BANNED FROM FUTURE TASTING DECISIONS!
we continued around the country and i got some cool pics in Morrocco just from my iphone, i knew i would come back with my Nikon for the real money shots..

LITTLEMISS_MARLA
here is my favorite collage
anyway... on to one of our favorite places.. Coral Reef, we asked for a seat by the tank and as usual we were told they would try but they couldn't guarantee.. we did get to sit next to the tank, i think if your with a party of 3 or less you have a better chance of sitting by the tank
LUNCH

we had a third wheel dining with us, in the bottom left corner you can see a giant stingray that had sat with us our entire lunch, he left for about 2 min and came right back
sorry for the extra dark photos, i am so not comfortable turning the flash on in already dark places ahahahaha

delicious, yummy, HOT FROM THE OVEN, bread!

Creamy Lobster Soup - tarragon and brandy $8.49
I started with the lobster soup, even though it was really hot out, it just sounded so good and it was! definitely creamy and a good lobster flavor, not overpowering and just the right sized portion!

Red Curry Vegetable and Noodle Bowl - with Gardein Chick'n Breast $18.99
I WAS SO FLIPPING EXCITED TO TRY THIS!! i love Gardein products and when i saw Disney had added them to two of their menus (the other is at 50s PT) i knew exactly what i was getting.. didn't even need the menu! If your not familiar with Gardein, it's a meat substitute, similar concept to Boca, Morning Star Farms or Quorn. This was FANTASTIC! it was VERY spicy though, so just be aware.. but the chick'n was very tender and the vegetables were delicious mixed in the curry sauce.. there were SO MANY NOODLES. it was a huge portion and i would have loved to take the rest with me to go but i never end up eating left overs at disney!

Coral Reef Lobster Orecchiette Pasta - with White Cheddar Cheese and Basil Oil $28.49
Dan's favorite at Coral Reef, he LOVES lobster and mac and cheese and this is like the ultimate mash up of his favorite foods. i'm convinced he will get this every time we go. I had this on our last trip, the lobster is nice and chunky and personally i think they could make it a little bit larger portion because it just seems like it dissapears, i'm sure though Dan will come along and say what am i talking about... blah blah.. it's more than enough.. blah blah.
totally using a stock photo for my dessert as my pic was just WAY too dark

Baileys and Jack Daniel's Mousse* - topped with caramel crisp $7.99
this is BY FAR one of my favorite desserts in all of disney! it does have alcohol in it but the flavor is incredible!!!!!! you can really taste the jack daniels in the chocolate part.. and the i believe the baileys is in the "vanilla" looking section! my favorite part is the vanilla top with the crunchy little chocolate balls! so unbelievably good.. seriously PLEASE get this if you go there, i LOVE LOVE IT
so we had to think ahead for dinner, we didn't have any reservations because we were going to the wishes dessert party later that night.. i think EVERYONE needs to go to the dessert party at least once, we go every year because i just think the atmosphere is so relaxing, i get a nice place to sit and watch wishes with an amazing view and i get to eat desserts? how can you go wrong.. i do completely understand that for larger families, financially it just seems silly.. it is like $25 -$30 per person.. where you can spend $30 and get ice cream from the plaza for the whole fam. but while it's still the two of us.. we like to splurge!
so we decided to have a quick
DINNER
we were walking down main street and Dan kind of wanted to try the corn dog nuggets from Casey's Corner.. there is nothing there for me so i was planning on going over to Columbia Harbour House, i waited outside for him and he comes walking out with cheesy nachos????? HUH.. i swear this guy keeps me on my toes. first off didn't even know they sold that there, secondly what happened to corn dog nuggets.. well he changed his mind, wasn't in the mood. so if you were hoping for a review on corn dog nuggets.. keep on lookin cause Dan dropped the ball on that one. thanks. now my readers are going to unsubscribe all because my DH can't keep his word and get corn dog nuggets... (totally kidding, guilt trip much)

Ball Park Nachos $7.69
Dan being the wonderful husband he is, carried these all the way to Columbia Harbour House just so we could eat together <3 hes just the besssstt

Anchors Aweigh Sandwich - white tuna with lettuce and tomato on toasted multigrain bun with potato chips $8.99
now when i was ordering, i CONFIDENTLY exclaimed i wanted the Anchors Aweigh Sandwich (thinking i was ordering the lighthouse sandwich - the one with hummus/coleslaw on it). so i was quite shocked when i sat down and looked and saw it was tuna.. and i was like..
OH NO.
- HOLD MY WEAVE, SOMEONE BOUT TO GET CRAY CRAY UP IN DIS HOUSE -
i carried my little sandwich back up the counter, ready to confidently explain that there had been a mistake and someone had messed my order up.. i weaved in front of people, and then i just happened to glance up at the menu board and i was like..

you fool. i ordered the wrong thing, so i imagined that i shrunk to the size of a mouse and tried to squeeze my way out of the crowd that was most likely in shock and awe at this nut job that had just cut through the line to go up to the counter to turn around a leave without a word...
in their heads they were saying.. DO NOT SIT IN THE SAME ROOM AS HER.
anyway, dramatic episode over..
THE SANDWICH WAS GREAT! hahahahaha really i should get an award for most dramatic performance. it was a little salty but most tuna sandwiches are, it was really good. the tuna was chunky and the multigrain bread was soft, it wasn't a bun at all so i dunno why it's listed as that. the house made chips were to die for!!!! they were crunchy and NOT oily.. yum yum
DESSERT PARTY
this is at the tomorrowland terrace, if your interested in booking you have to call up disney dining and book prior to your trip, this books up fast because space is limited and most of the time it will open up a month prior. so for instance any of the days in June opened up on May 1st. any of the day's in July would have opened up on June 1st, so you can call on June 1st and say you want to book for a specific day in July. Payment is made at the time of booking, there is also a thread in the restaurant board i believe that if you subscribe to it will keep you updated when new dates open!

Dan's plate! in the little cups in the back there are 2 chocolate mousse and one cookies and cream (both are amazeballs), a brownie, 2 chocolate chip cookies (addicted to anything chocolate chip) and a little tart!

My plate! notice the difference between mine and dan's... mine is like packed to the brim, i even dropped a cookies and cream cup on the floor (MY GOODNESS YOU CAN'T TAKE ME ANYWHERE lol) in this picture starting from the left going clockwise is a little banana cream tart (delish), then it's some kind of raspberry/vanilla tart.. hidden in the back is a cannoli, towards the back right is a lemon tart! in front of that is HUGE chocolate covered strawberry (the best ones i have ever had), then a little yummy apple pie tart and another chocolate mousse and cookies and cream mousse (which i just noticed in another picture is listed as a classic cheesecake but i always thought it was cookies and cream, shows how much i know).
there are soooo many more desserts, there is ice cream, rice crispy treats, shooters, fresh fruit and truffle like balls! There is a huge drink station with ice, water, milk, juice, coffee and i even believe lemonade! i love it!
you are allowed to go and stand by the railing to watch the fireworks, they ask that no one bring chairs.. not like the people listen.... why, why wont they listen. but luckily for us we always manage to get seated up front and we really dont need to go to the railing we can see just fine.. except for one extreamly tall man who couldn't stand still and move in the exact way i tilted my head or scooted my chair.. that always happens lol.. #shortpeopleproblems
so to finish off the dessert party we kicked back and enjoyed one of the most beautiful sights
PS.. i'm looking for opinions on renting DVC points??? my parents just bought DVC but my mom banked her points for this year, and were looking to go back later in the year, i was looking on the Dave's DVC rental and it seems like the AK lodge would almost cost about the same if not a tiny bit more than staying at pop??? we also have APs so what would be better using an AP discount for hotel or renting DVC.. i'm a little hesitant because i don't know anything about renting DVC and it's not directly through disney.. but i'd love to stay at AK lodge! any thoughts??
