Going to Orlando in February and heard that Universal do Mardi Gras nights on Saturdays then. Has anyone been to one of these nights? Are they any good? Would ds age 13 and dd age 11 enjoy it or are the disney parades better?
We went 3 years ago (Friday night I think). It was great fun. Dancers, illuminated vehicles, loads of beads and necklaces thrown to the masses (DD still has a draw full of them). And it was far less crowded than the Disney parades. DD was 10 then and it appeared the louder you shouted and screamed the more necklaces and badges you got thrown at you.
We have been the last two years and it is a great evening. You really get carried away with the occasion and fight for the beads just like everyone else - huge fun. Children seem to love it. the floats are amazing. We didn't stay to the party but I am sure that is great too. There are also great food offerings too. I still have loads of beads from 2005, we gave all ours away to children this year - they were sooo appreciative!
