Happy Mardi Gras! I thought I would share some pictures from all the parades I have gone to so far. If anyone would like to see them let me know. I will upload some to the next post if ya'll want.

ld love to see some pics! I miss going to Mardi Gras. DH grew up right outside NO and we lived there for 2 yrs when we first got married.

They may not be the best pictures but I will post some in a few minutes. I will have alot more tonight or tomorrow. We are leaving in a few minutes to go see 5 parades. It will be a long day filled with pictures.

Great! I would love to see pictures, have fun today and take more to post later!

Thanks for the pics! I'm originally from NOLA and really miss it this time of year.

Happy Mardi Gras!

Great pics! I can't wait to see more. We were in NOLA two weeks ago, and really wanted to see the Krewe du Vieux parade, but it took too long to get to where we were standing (Behind St. Louis Cathedral). We had to leave for dinner reservations. I was a little disappointed...I wanted to catch a few throws!

i'm guessing you're a westbanker with cleo/choctaw parade pics :wave2::wave2::wave2: i'm over in algiers and saw the saturday parades last week.

we're getting ready to go out for SUPER SUPER sunday for bacchus/endy. we're scrambling the last 2 hours trying to figure out where to go now, since both aren't passing our usual spot. GRRRR

i'll post pics too whenever we get home....if we ever get home after those 2 parades :lmao:

We are going to be on Napoleon near Magazine. We're watching Thoth right now on Magazine. The crowds aren't too bad here or on Napoleon. If you happen to come in that area. Look for me I have my lime green Mickey head on my purse.

I will post more pictures when I get home tonight.

Did you watch Cleopatra at the same spot as Choctaw? If so, I was across the street from you!

I have some pictures too. I haven't uploaded them all. We decided not to go today. We were going to do the Bacchus/Endymion double play, but I don't want to deal with the crowds, and our bathroom access fell through. My friend along the parade route is having problems with the water at her house. BAD day for that! :scared1:

I've been to Cleopatra, Caesar, Alla, Babylon, Chaos, Muses, Hermes, D'Etat, and Morpheus so far.

Caesar:

Alla:

This fire truck was donated to NYC after 9/11, then donated to New Orleans after Katrina.

Budweiser Clydesdales

I'll post more when I upload them. Happy Mardi Gras!

Great pics! I talked to a good friend of mine who's in school down there and he said they had canceled lots of the parades because of all the rain, but he was hoping to see some of them Tues. Can't wait to see more!

piglet were you in the same spot for choctaw? i was on the same side, directly in front of picadilly! we were inches from each other if you were!

we got down to louisiana and st charles (and found free street parking!!!) about 2:45 and thoth was still there. it stopped for an hour or so. it finally finished by us at 5 pm. and then it seemed bacchus was close behind, but it stopped too.

and a chaperon for one of the bands fainted in the street...so we all had to clear the way for a stretcher. she was ok, i think just major embarrassed.

gave up at 9 p.m. because it was so crowded. i've never see it like that ever!

my camera is downstairs charging, so i'll have to post pics tomorrow. maybe tuesday. lol we'll be down by trader vic's (1/2 block from lucy's retired surfer bar on tchop). you can use the bathroom at lucy's or walk down to harrah's.

i'll be sporting my new awesome wig...the rainbow colored mohawk! omg i'm in love and thinking about wearing it to work tomorrow

I am so excited to see your pics! We went to NOLA for the first time this past December and fell IN LOVE! I am obsessed with it now and can't wait to go back!

:

We found free parking lot at corner of Camp and Julia, can you believe !!?? Unfortunately we were parked on wrong side of route so basically blocked in , took quite awhile to find our way to interstate.
We camped at our normal spot in front of St. Charles Bar. It was a long long day, and by the time Bacchus hit, kid was done and it was sooo crowded so we gave up and headed home . I haven't seen it that bad before either, but this is the first time we have gone on Sunday before. Loved the Mid City floats. Bummed we missed Muses and have vowed not to let that happen again.

Where's Piglet and my crew were going to meet for Zulu, but I am EXHAUSTED after the yesterday . We will have a quiet day tomorrow , maybe hit the B.R. zoo or movies.

I am hoping to be back in Saturday for Irish Channel parade, but have to find a sitter for my little one.

For Cleopatra, I was standing in Kabel on the neutral ground side of DeGaulle. They let us stand there as long as we were willing to step aside when they dispatched cars and horse groups into the parade. We were literally in the staging area.

I skipped Choctaw and Adonis and went to Caesar that night.

For Alla, I was in the DeGaulle neutral ground across from the PJ's coffee that is next to Picadilly.

For the Thursday night Uptown parades, we parked in the Point and took the ferry and walked to St. Charles.

For the Friday night parades, we found free street parking on a side street 2 blocks from St. Charles! We watched from the sidewalk side at Toledano.

We are going tonight, but I don't know where. It will depend on the parking situation.

my son thomas and i crossed the algiers ferry at 5 pm today to meet up with my husband on tchop. and girod. i can't believe how many people were at spanish plaza. never ever seen that many people there for rex's arrival. did ya'll hear the canon's or was that fireworks? we couldn't tell over by lucy's bar.

it's going to be a sleep in day and watch parades on tv for tuesday.

i uploaded pictures from the season to my photobucket, there's a ton of them, so here's the link and i tried to label it for everybody who isn't familiar.

Happy Mardi Gras ya'll!

They had fireworks. We could see them from St. Charles and Toledano! It was awesome to be right in the middle of a parade and see fireworks at the same time!

Caesar

I used to love the Smurfs! They were actually throwing beads!

The Queen

One of the many Maids. I loved her pink head dress.

Star Wars....Leia.

Abdul and The Tentmakers

I love me some Military men.
