We were up very early and got to AK around 8am. There were a few people there already, but many of them were going to the breakfast, so we were the first ones at the turnstile! A very sweet CM (Donna) came over and put our tickets through so we could go right in when it was time. We waited for about half an hour and DS was getting restless in his stroller, but he held his Donald Duck doll and was fine. Walked straight to Kilamanjaro Safari's and waited for the rope drop with about a million other people. We had to wait another 5 minutes and we were off! A stroller slows you down quite a bit, considering that we were first in line to get in. We made it on to the third vehicle , so we had no wait at all. The Safari was wonderful. A rhino walked right in front of our vehicle! We were in the last row, so we got bumped around quite a bit! When we got off we had trouble finding our stroller (the CM's had "cleaned up") and the wait for the Safari was now 30 min. and they were giving out fastpasses. This was at 9:30. This park was very beautiful. When we first walked through I couldn't beleive how truly beautiful it was and could not wait to get to the stores!!!! Next we made our way to Camp Minnie Mickey and the Festival of the Lion King. The first show had not started yet, so we had to wait a good ten minutes before we were let in to the theater. This show was spectacular! DS did not like some parts and was asking to "go back to the hotel". After that we decided to get an early luch as the park was getting very crowded (funny that the rides had waits of less than 10 minutes, though!). It was murder getting over the bridge from Camp Minnie Mickey. for those of you who have the Unofficial Guide there is a very good illustration of this . It's no exaggeration, either! We ate at Pizzafari and although I've read a few negative reviews of this place, the food was very good. It was empty at 11:00 am , so we got our food right away. We decided to go to the petting zoo, so we rode the train over (no line for this) and had fun there. It was a nice size petting zoo, but mostly there were just goats and that's about it! We bought DH a huge Mickey lollipop and went on. Next we went to Asia to do the Maharaja Jungle Trek. Our zoo here in Miami is better than this. There were 100 people trying to crowd around 1 window to see 1 tiger. We decided to try our luck in the boneyard, as DS was getting tired of being in the stroller. The Boneyard was excellent!!! We had a great time there and spent a good hour playing. Then it got really crowded and decided to call it a day at AK. This park is very poorly designed. Having to go back to Harambe Village was a nightmare that we dreaded!! I don't want to know what it's like in peak season when we couldn't even stay in the Boneyard because we were afraid to lose our son and the dinosaur ride had a wait of 10 min. when we left that area. We left at 1:30 and went back to the hotel to recuperate and regroup!!!!!

We had planned to see Fantasmic that evening, but weren't up to anything like that , so we decided to go to MGM , but skip Fantasmic. I called and made an early PS for the Hollywood Brown Derby. At 4:30 we walked on to Star Tours, then MuppetVision 3D. DS loves Star Wars, so he loved Star Tours!!!!!! The streets were very empty as people were either headed out or over to Fantasmic. We took a lot of pictures and saw tons of characters-Buzz, Woody, Sulley and MikeW., but DS didn't want anything to do with them! He had been asking for Donald Duck all Day and lo and behold, there he was!! The line wasn't long, but the CM said that Donald would have to be leaving in just a minute. Oh, no.... DS was fine with it. We told him that Donald had to leave and he didn't question it. We went to our PS at the Brown Derby. This was soooo nice at the end of a long day. There was hardly anyone there and we had a nice , quiet, relaxing time. The food was excellent, excellent service (84.00 later!)Went to bed and passed out again before 9pm!! Next Day-the Magic Kingdom!!!!

Forgot to add that when we left MGM we went to Downtown Disney- played at Legoland and had ice cream at Ghiradelli's. We were back at the hotel by 7:30.

Sounds like a busy day! Thanks for posting your report. :)

Can you tell me a little more about Star Tours? I didn't let my kids go on it last year because I thought that it would make them sick. It seems like your 3 yr old did fine so I think we will give it a try in January. My DH loves Star wars and he is looking forward to this.

Thanks for the report

It was a little on the rough side, but apparently my DS loved it (he also loved Thunder Mountain). It wasn't too bad, I guess.

We loved our safari too. A baby rhino walked right up to our tram it was really great.

I've never eaten at the Brown Derby but it's on my list of things "to do" :)

Thanks for sharing your day with us.
