Tuesday, November 13th, was an an absolutely gorgeous day! the forecast said rain, but there wasn't a cloud in the sky! It was cool, but we could still wear shorts and we were fine. We got up early and I told my son (half joking), "Hurry up so we can get there early. Maybe you'll get to open the park". We left about 7:15 for MK (Magic Kingdom). There were quite a few people there already. The resort monorail was running so we took that to the MK. When we got to the turnstiles we were first again. Everyone else was apparently there for breakfast, so they were being escorted in throught the breakfast line (so many cute little princesses). Then it happened!!!! Awonderful CM named Delores came over to say "hi" to Marcus and asked if he would like to be the Gatekeeper!!!!! Of course we said yes! What a magical experience!!! They gave him a wand and some confetti to throw. Delores also gave us a "head of the line" pass for any ride we wanted! Before we opened the park, Alice and the Madhatter came out. They went over to Marcus and he freaked and ran away screaming. I don't think he's too crazy about the "face" characters! Anyway, we walked pretty slowly up Main Street and got some great pictures. We then walked on to Dumbo, Pooh, Peter Pan, Small World, and Haunted Mansion (which DS LOVED). Our next stop was the Country Bears, but the show didn't satrt for 15 min, so we headed over to thunder Mountain. It would have been maybe a 5 minute wait, but the train was stopped, so we decided to keep going. We then walked on to Pirates and bought him a cute Mickey doll dressed like a Pirate. Aladdin was also a walk on . I have to say I did not enjoy this as much as Dumbo (there is just something about flying around in Fantasyland...). The Jungle Cruise (I don 't like this ride, but my DH loves the humor) had a 30 min wait posted, so we used our "head of the line " pass and got right on. It was only 11, but I decided to check in for our PS at the Crystal Palace. We Went walking around Main Street. I found the Music School and we listened to the "Voice Lessons" going on. It was then time for our PS. The food was wonderful !!! Does anyone have that chicken recipe? The cutest thing was the Pooh cutting board for the PB&J sandwiches! The service was great!!!! The characters were great-although a little too spread
out about half way through. Tigger and Eeyore came around first. Then it was forever (we were already done) before Pooh and Piglet finally made it around. I forgot to mention that right in the middle of lunch it began to POUR! DH had to run out and cover the stroller. Marcus' Gatekeeper certificate was in it! After lunch we went on Country Bears (I think they changed it) and DH and DS went to Thunder Mountain. This was around 1:30. There was 00 wait posted, but they actually had to wait about 15 minutes because of people with fastpasses returning. We decide to go to Toonetown and take a chance. We took the train over and DS wanted to do nothing, but play in that baby playground. FINALLY, we walked through Mickey's House and there was no lines at all in the Hall of Fame so we got to see Donald and Minnie!!! The DS and myself walked on Barnstormer. Went to ride the Speedway, but it stater to pour again, so we decided to,leave, since DS was very tired.

How cool that Marcus was selected to be gatekeeper!! It must have been so cute. :) One question, can you tell me more about the "voice lessons on Main St"? Where can you hear them? I've heard the "maids" at Tusker House, but nothing in the MK....Thanks for posting. :)

swankybeth,
if you look at the stores on Main Street find the music school on the building and you will hear the voice lessons.

If you go in the alleyway (I think the first one on the right) on Main St and find the dance school you will here tap shoes.

Usually we are in a hurry to get to the rides that we don't hang around Main St too much. These are on my list of "must do" for our next trip.

Enjoying your reports....I usually read them all then comment on the last. My granddaughter got to be "Gatekeeper" in April when I took her.......I'm so glad your son did too as it's so special. They must've changed it a little since April, because there were'nt any characters present at ours.......but they did ride us down Main Street in a firetruck. It's definatly worth getting there early for!

Again, I'm enjoying all your reports! Thanks for sharing.

What a memory Marcus got to make being gatekeeper! Hope you got lots of photos. Too bad about the rain, but it sounds like you had a pretty terrific day anyway. Thanks for telling us about it.

Katholyn
