Thurs, Nov 13, Day 3, Part 1
Another morning, another rope drop! And where was I headed today?
Yup, Epcot. And here I am, waiting for the bus
Got to the bus stop at 7:50, bus came 5 minutes later, and I arrived at Epcot at 8:10am. Plenty of time for the 9am rope drop! Most people were all lining up at about 3 turnstiles, so I asked if the other ones would be open too, and yes, of course they would. So I got first in line for my turnstile. People, don't be sheep! Ask!
Then we were let through the turnstiles at 8:45, as usual. And as usual, I just scanned my barcode, since I knew running it through wouldn't work. Aaaanyway, I decided to make the executive decision to go to the far right, the Innoventions entrance toward the Land. I was right up against the rope, and we had a really fun CM asking us trivia and stuff. Here she is trying to get Donald's attention to come say hi to us folks not with the main crowd
So did he come over? Why, yes he did! Hi Donald!
Bye Donald!
Before I knew it, it was time to speed walk over to the Land to hit Soarin. Big help of being solo...you don't have to worry about anyone keeping up with you! I was right in the front, first down the stairs, first to the FastPass machine, and then right on over to ride. I just happened to be there perfect timing to sit front and center on my first ride! Awesome, couldn't ask for more!
After my Soarin flight, I killed some time until my FP window by going on Living with the Land. I really do enjoy this ride. Like Small World, this one I always take pictures on too! Although, I didn't take as many as usual.
Then my FP window was up, so I got another one for Soarin, then took another flight on Soarin with my first FP. I could have asked to wait for front row, but I was trying to get to the 10:20 Turtle Talk, so I raised my hand when they asked for a single. No need to wait, I can sit somewhere other than the front once in a while!
After Soarin, I went over to the Seas, and I got there around 10:10, and was tempted to ride Nemo, but when I saw the line, I was glad I didn't. Just went straight in and got into the 10:20 show easily. I love this show, so adorably cute, and the kids had some good interaction, which is really what makes the show.
Once I got out of there, I spotted a Photopass guy, so I got my picture taken. He also took some with my camera. Here's my favorite bad picture
Aaaaah, the sun! The sun is blinding me! LOL! I also grabbed a pic of the big golf ball from over there before heading over to the other side.
Right, so on to the other side. The wait for Mission: Space was only like 20 minutes, but I didn't feel like waiting on that, so I FP'd it instead. With my trusty FP in hand, I went over to ride Test Track single rider line style. Single rider lines, oh how I love you!
Now, the next thing I wanted to do was head to the bakery in Norway. In the past, they haven't opened until 11:30, so I was taking my time getting there. I walked back through the middle and got some pictures along the way
And then I went through Mexico
Passing by the lovely Margarita Stand
Then, well, I hit Norway, because that's what comes after Mexico, of course!
If you're reading my food report, you know what happened next. And well, I know this isn't a food report, but I just need to share my excitement here too! See, I have always wanted to try School Bread. But I hate coconut. Like, really really hate it with a passion. The taste and texture, just can't handle it. So. When I was in Epcot with my mom in August of 2007, we stopped in and asked if they could make it without the coconut. The CM assured us it wouldn't be a problem. The only problem was, we had just come from a meal, so we were not hungry. No worries, we could always come back!
Well, we did go back. On that trip. And I went back on many trips following. As recently as my trip in August 2008. (yeah, i tried again Aug 2007, Sept 2007, Nov 2007, May 2008, and Aug 2008) Each and every time, they looked at me like I was crazy for requesting such a thing. Oh no, we can't do that!
So, this time, I went in figuring I'd just get the sweet pretzel, but figured, well, it wouldn't hurt to ask. So I asked. And the sweet CM went into the back for a few minutes, came out, and she told me they could do it!!!! I was over the moon! This had just been such a conquest, just the fact that they were going to do it for me, I was overwhelmed! Took a little while, but I got it! And to top it off, I enjoyed it!
So yeah, my day, my trip, was pretty much made! I felt like I was the luckiest girl on the planet! Seriously, I guess it doesn't take much, LOL!
Phew, okay, so after enjoying my breakfast, since I was in Norway anyway, I went on Maelstrom, since there was no line. Yay trolls and Vikings. Good times. Since that was taken care of, I headed back to Future World to use up my remaining Soarin FP. Oh yes, my window was up again, so I got another Soarin FP before riding. So yeah, rode Soarin. It was just after 12, and I was ready to go take a nap! On my way out, I took some fancy pics of the golf ball
Check out that gorgeous blue sky! With those nice puffy cumulus clouds! Aw yeah, loving this weather!
Anyway, got to the bus stop at 12:30, but came a couple minutes later, and I was back at Pop in my bed by 1pm. Ah, sleep
next up: afternoon and evening in Epcot
