Trying to decide if we should go to WDW March 5-8, 2012 is it busy then??
What is the weather like?

The weather can be iffy. This past year was very nice the year before not so good. Can be very busy. But we are still going! March 10 to 18.

One of the busiest weeks of the year. Check out mousesavers.com. They list the best and worst times to visit. March is considered one of the worst I do believe. Also one of the most expensive times to go.

We always have a great time during March break at WDW!. You will need to have a touring plan, shop around for less expensive flights and maybe stay offsite.

probably will rent a house...can u share where you stayed off site

Actually, the projected crowds aren't that bad for those dates:

5th 7/10
6th 1/10
7th 5/10
8th 7/10

I wouldn't worry.:)

We like to stay at the Vistana Villages or Vistana Resort both close to WDW, Floridays is also very nice. All three have full kitchens, 1 or 2 bedroom units.

Not sure where you are DFMAC, but your March break is a bit early - possibly Quebec as they seem to always be a week or two before Ontario. Ontario break is usually the first week of high season. Most US states are later in March as well. You should be relatively less busy.

If you are visiting during a busy time, be sure to have a plan when touring the parks. We swear by the "Unofficial Guides" but there are others out there. I hear that Tour Guide Mike is also excellent. We toured with our SIL and kids this past March break, and she was cursing us for having a plan for the first couple of visits, but once she realized how much more we got done earlier in the parks, with plenty of time for pictures and spontaneity in the afternoon when the parks were busy, she was sold. People who go with no plan probably do half the stuff we do, and spend twice as long in lineups. Not cool when you figure what you are paying.

And yes, weather in March is highly variable. It was great in 2009 and 2011, lousy in 2010. Keep an eye on the long range for a few weeks before to get a feel for where things are going, and pack appropriately. And if you aren't prepared, well, what better excuse to do some outlet shopping for some new appropriate duds?

Relax and enjoy. Have a great time!

The following link should help you decide on whether or not it should be busy - although not a scientific survey

We are planning to go Feb 28-Mar 8 so as far as the crowds are concerned it looks good. I am however less confident about the weather. This year I guess it was very warm (but that was abnormal I hear). When I checked the historical weather for our dates it shows the average high to be 24C and the average low to be 13C. Those are great temps for touring, but my daughter wants to go to the water parks. I guess we'll wait and see about adding the water park and more option once we get there.

Now if only I could find some cheap airfare I'd be all set

Nice Information there DisneyRookie! I guess you're not a rookie anymore! Maybe change your name to DisneyExpert?:rotfl:

Rookie in 2007 ........ a veteran of 5 trips so far ............ but such a long way from being an Expert ..... but at least it gives my something to aspire to :thumbsup2

We went March 2011 (7-12) and thought it was pretty good. Busy, but not super-crowded. The weather was nice this year, too--high teens to mid-twenties most days with cooler mornings and evenings. We had shorts and tank tops a couple of days and only one rainy night leaving a park 9pm or so and light rain the next morning that cleared up by 10:30. I would do this time of year again.

We were there the 3rd-10th this year and it was worse than that time the year before, but manageable, except Epcot on the weekend was nuts. We like going a week or so before March Break just to avoid the crazy crowds. We always go for rope drop and were able to do Big Thunder Mountain 3-4 times in a row (could have gone more), Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, POC, Aladdin and Jungle Cruise with almost no wait one morning. Easy peasy!

MikeyNS has it right "except Epcot on the weekend was nuts" what I've experienced is that epcot becomes drinkers heaven on the weekends, so avoid it from late Friday until Monday.

Do take advantage of rope drop .... and always maximize your fast passes! Weather is fine ... its January and early Feb that is the risk ....

Went this year Mar 1-8, the week before our March Break - it was busier than I expected because of dance competitions and other breaks for southern states - and towards the end of the week it got really busy. The weather was okay, only wore shorts one day, the rest of the time was capris or jeans with layers, and definitely needed sweatshirts at night. Still, not a drop of rain all week except about 5 min of sprinkles one afternoon, so it was a really nice time with my daughter (her surprise sweet 16 trip!). As far as crowds and weather, I usually say 'who cares, I'm in Disney World!' When you live in Canada and get to go south in March, even a cool day is better than at home!

Have gone a couple of times during March Break one ok weather another great weather (mid 20s). The crowds were OK nothing crazy like Xmas. Do your planning in advance and you will have a great time. Attitude is everything in life.
