Just wondering if any of you have booked a one way ticket to make sure you get a cheap flight and the time you want on the way there. Southwest only has flights out until March 11th.

I'm not chancing it right now. Jet Blue is the only one that has return dates up, and their return from Orlando on March 19th was $551 US for the one way. I'm not committing to any one airlines until I know exactly how much it is each way.

Last year I only booked my tickets in October and the prices were much better. :confused3

I booked a one way ticket from Edmonton direct to Orlando....albeit it was for February, but the price was right, so I at least locked in the depature flight (West Jet direct from Edmonton to Orlando $199 pp plus tax = $256 pp)

Now I have my eyes peeled for a return flight, but the schedules to Edmonton aren't very good at all! I will probably have to fly home to Calgary as they have a direct February return flight on a Sunday)

If I am going to be in Disney for a week, I figured I might as well try to fly back on the Sunday AM, as it will give us an extra day at Universal Studios (we can tour all day Saturday and not worry about trying to catch an evening flight)

Still looking and hoping I manage to find a great deal coming home!!!

:goodvibes

We are flying out of Buffalo. Right now to leave for March break it's $144.00 each one way. I thought that was pretty good considering my flight right now in October is $179.00 each way ( I did not pay though! :goodvibes)

I haven't booked a one way yet eithier! We usually book our flights as soon as they are released because that is typically the best price! Right now I am finding the slightly higher then what I have paid! The most I have paid for a flight is $89 thought, so I am trying to be realistic! I am tempted to book Jet Blue for the flight down on March 7th for $109 but I hate the time, my whole first day is trashed, it doesn't get in until after 7 pm. It also limits me to just Buf!
We have to drive 6.5 hours to Toronto from here, and we usually fly from Buffalo, but also look at Grand Rapids mich, Lansing Mi, Flint Mi, and Detroit! I am not sure what to do!!! I wish they would all release their flights, and have half decent prices, that would surely help!

We booked our March break flight at 330 days out. The direct flight from Ottawa sells out fast, and I doubt there are any discounted tickets for that one.

Just got an update from Westjet today and they have moved our return flight time up an hour and a half. Bummer - less time to spend with Mickey.

If you are committed to travel in March, why not book one way now? There's no issue with going down on one airline, and returning on another.

Becaue right now the cheapest flight is actually Pearson! :rolleyes1 They're just under $500 a person. I know Buffalo should be able to better that, but so far the releases have been more. That's why I don't want to commit to Buffalo just yet. I'm committed to my dates, but not to my airport! ;)

Last year I booked 4 seats in October for $1200 out of Buffalo for the same dates - right now Jet Blue is listing 2700.

Is that return or one-way?

Our direct flight YOW to MCO is $383 (all taxes and fees in) each way, including seat selection. Total fare $3064 for 4. That was booked 330 days out. SIL booked YYZ to MCO at same time as us, and hers was slightly cheaper than ours. We are all travelling WestJet, booked online direct with WJ.

Note, we love the WJ flights because they leave early but return late, allowing almost a full extra day in Orlando. We also love that WJ still has a two free bag limit.

That's return per person through YYZ. I know that's a great deal for Air Canada, but we were still able to save over $800 off that rate last year by driving to Buffalo. (West Jet is quite a bit more at this moment.)

I'm hedging that Southwest will be cheaper when they release their late March flights.

I ended up booking the one way ticket last night with Southwest. For the four of us to fly down it will be $618.00 one way. When the return flights become I avaible I will book again. I checked West Jet they wanted over $3400 for the four of us. Air Canada wanted over $2800. It still works out to be much cheaper so far.

I have to say I am jealous of the ability of golden tirangle folk to fly direct from the US (Buffalo/Detroit). Just thought I'd check - it is a 4 hour drive to Syracuse from here, where I can get non-stop JetBlue to MCO for... $20 more than direct from Ottawa, with worse flight times. :confused3 No thanks!!

Ah well, the cost of livin' in the boonies.

Booked our flight 2day for March Break...YAY!!!!:goodvibes
We live in Ottawa..searched flights from Ottawa , Montreal and Syracuse NY..wanted 2 fly direct..as we are flying with our two kiddies (4 & 6).
Ended up booking out of Montreal..flying air transat ..for 4..for just over $1600..txes in...well worth it as jet blue out of syracuse was 2300.00 and westjet was nearing 3000.00+

I just checked JetBlue out of Buffalo - leaving Sat Mar 12, returning Sat Mar 19 -- JetBlue has flights for $400 cdn per person.

The best price I saw for Pearson was $545 per person (which is actually a pretty good fare, flying to MCO on Air Canada, and back on Delta/Air Canada).

We're from MB and don't fly out of Canada very often. It's way too expensive. We can drive to Minneapolis and fly from there for $180 - $250 return USD. Much cheaper for us to do it that way any way you cut it.

Canadian airlines charge way too much tax! :confused3

I just checked and it's still $2765.60 for 4 :confused3 ... I'm only looking at non-stop flights. Can't handle it otherwise! :)
