We are going to Florida for March break (11-18). I know the crowds are rated 8 out of 10. Yikes. Is this doable or too frustrating??? I have been checking out some touring plans that recommend certain parks on certain days based on extra hours and events. We are staying off site. I don't want to go if we can't go on any rides. We always travel march break but usually got to Busch Gardens/SW and the crowds are fine..no issues!

Thanks

We have gone several times over March break. We find the crowds are not too bad at the start, but by the end of the week it does get busy.

Never had an issue getting on rides!

Listen to the lines sites (unofficial guide, or undercover tourist for example), and make a plan. We are March Break veterans and always manage to have a great time at both Uni and WDW. We ride all the rides we want, but we follow most of the strategies that these sites suggest; get to the parks early, ride the headliners first, use FP+ to the max, avoid EMH parks like the plague, etc. Then as the crowds grow later in the morning, slow down and take in the atmosphere, shop, eat, etc. 8/10 isn't nearly as bad as 10/10.

I was reading another post and it seems most spring breaks in the US are later this year due to a late Easter. We've gone over March Break 2 of the past 3 years and are going again this year. It will be busy, but is still very doable and enjoyable.

Bankr63 has given you the best advice. We'll be there over March Break -- we've built in some early mornings, as well as some later afternoon/evening excursions. We also recommend Disney Springs for an evening walking around, people watching and grabbing a yummy sandwich at the Earl of Sandwich!

We'll be there over our MB, which is Mar 6-11. I have to say I'm relieved it's the week before the break for much of the states, as I'm not looking forward to the crowds. I've heard the because easter is later this year, maybe the crowds will be a bit more spread out over the coming month?

Oops, didn't read the thread, clearly, as I missed that you'd posted the same thing!

We went one year (maybe it was 2012ish) over March break and it really wasnt that bad but it was the same situation as this year. Our March Break was a week or two before the majority of the USA ones. Early in the week it was almost blissful. We had one incredible day at Epcot where the weather was amazing, we had a CAA parking pass that put is right in front of the park, the crowds were almost existent and we rode all the rides over and over.By the end of the week however we spent our last park day at Animal Kingdom and I was shocked at the difference. It was a sea of people everywhere you went and that park is spread out with lots of walking space.
I like to use easy WDW for tour plans, it has never been wrong and I find it easy to read. They give you suggestions as to which day to go where and why http://www.easywdw.com/easy/blog/march-2017-disney-world-crowd-calendar/

Anyway, my point is one of the best times we have had was during March Break but it took some planning

We are going for our third year in a row for MB but we go a little early. This year we leave on the 7th. We have gone before a few times more along the actual dates of the break. The Florida break is the same as our week here in Ontario. That makes it very busy at WDW and you can easily see the crowds grow as the week goes on. Yes, they are level 8+.

Ditto on bankr63's advice. It is doable to have a great time despite the crowds. Plan, plan, plan. We like to go early in the morning, take an afternoon break at the resort and then go back in the evening. We go to WDW at least twice a year so we are totally happy to just be there and soak in the atmosphere when it gets super crowded. We often find new things that way.

Awesome. Thanks for the advice! I purchased the CDN 4 day pass and booked some FP+ rides. I booked the rides starting around 12-1pm. I am hoping we can ride standby in the early mornings. I was able to get the Seven Dwarf ride for 8:40pm. I came up when I checked a second time. I am not sure what to book at Epcot. I ended up booking Soarin (for my mom), Mission Space and Spaceship Earth. Any advice? AK- booked Expedition Everest, Kali Rapids and Dinosaur. I hope I am making some good choices LOL

We have done a lot of March Breaks, it can be busy! Just a bit of planning can really help. As you are staying offsite the traffic can be very bad. Especially I4 and International Blvd at Vineland near the outlet mall. Made the mistake of going to the Super Walmart on a Saturday evening it was packed. Also Disney Springs can fill up very quickly. You have made some good FP selections, only one to worry about would be Mission Space if anyone is prone to motion sickness. Have a great trip!

You did great with your FP+ bookings! Those are all kind of "headliner" rides so you should be good. If you can get a FP+ Test Track at Epcot you would be better off to take that and drop Spaceship Earth. Also, the Seven Dwarves ride at night is great, it is sort of indirectly lit so it really feels magical. See if you can get Splash Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom too, they are very popular and the ride wait times are get really long.
