We just got off of the Wonder last week and while onboard we rebooked for the Disney Dream next spring break. I hope others will be joining us for this sailing! I can't wait to see the new ship :-)

Wonderful! Nice to see someone else joining us. We will have twin DD (17 at that time) joining us, going to The Vibe (I believe that is the name of the new teen club).

We have 2 dd who will be 8 and 11 next March. It's our dds first cruise. Dh and I did a Carnival cruise 5 years ago. I am looking forward to the new ship.

We are booked for March 6 as well. Hopefully the date will be added to the Dream meet thread. My DD will be 4 by then! This trip couldn't get here fast enough!

I sent a PM asking to add this thread so maybe it will be added soon. I am glad all of you found this thread. I can't wait for this trip either. I am anxious to see the new ship :-)

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

Thanks!

And I think we are going to have a really full ship. Last night I noticed that they only have Cat. 8 or higher left! And it is almost a year away. And main dining is completely booked.

I'm excited (even though we are still a year away).

We were hoping that it wouldn't be that full with spring breaks starting the next week. Our girls go to school year round, this will be the first week of their spring break.

I am debating moving to late dinner. DDs aren't little but I was a little worried about the time change and the late dinner starting at 9pm our time. I think I will give a family with younger kids a chance to eat dinner earlier.

We booked a 5d stateroom, I don't remember what was left when we booked, but I think everything was and that was at the beginning of the month. Dh wanted a verandah and I wanted to be in the middle of the ship. We will be close to the kids club which will be good since the girls will be allowed to check themselves in and out.

Spring break is different at different places. This will be our spring break, and we were on this same cruise a couple weeks ago and a lot of teens from Tennessee were in the teen club with them, and last year we took this same cruise and a lot of teens from Canada were there on spring break,
and the time before it was Texas).

Late dining is good if you are planning to get off of the ship and go on excursions at Nassau and if you want to stay late on Castaway Cay. And if the kids get hungry there is food on the top deck (I assume it will be like this on the Dream too), so they could get something there to hold them over (or order room service).

If you aren't sure about later dining, hold it and you can switch even when you get on the ship. The hard part is switching to early from late.

But, as I said, if you are planning on being out and doing things at port until late afternoon, you may want late dining. When we were on the 7 night cruises we preferred late dining for that reason. But on the 4 night, we don't get off at Nassau and at Castaway Cay we are back on by 4:00, so that isn't a problem.

Around here most schools have spring break the third and fourth weeks of March. So when we start break nobody else it out. I guess its different in different parts of the country. Its to cold and raining here the first half of March to really enjoy spring break. Just now becoming spring.:flower3:

It is too cold here, but my kids go to a Lab school run by a university, so we have break the same as the university. The rest of the schools in our area has break this week (which is still too cold, but better than the week we had).

I will say, this year on the cruise, the weather was a bit cool (but still nice). Florida was really COLD! BUT.....last year, on this same cruise (on these dates) the weather was PERFECT! So let's hope it will be like that next year. Regardless, I am sure we will have a wonderful time!

Dear Westjones,

Thanks for starting this thread. I do agree it seems that this cruise will be full. I originally booked March 13. I work at a University and that would have been our spring break. Living in the Northeast, it seems most colleges are out during the 3rd week in March and elementary and secondary education go out near Easter. I changed to March 6 because there was a $300 difference for a cat 9 room. I assumed that it wouldn't be that crowded - oh well. I will just be happy to be on the ship.

We have late dining. It worked out well for us last time. We aren't usually home until 6pm so main dining would be too early for us.

Are either of you interested in doing a FE?

We probably won't do the FE (now that you pay for baggage on the planes, I make us travel very light), but I am sure there will be lots of others that will. If I had young kids I would do it because it would be so much fun for them (but I have teenagers).

After Christmas will be a good time to get the FE list going. Basically everyone who wants to do it will post their room number and everyone doing it will print out a list and go from there. By that time there will be a lot more people on our Dis Meet.

I am not sure abour FE. Depending on what airline that we fly and how our trip works out. We may add time at the world before or after. My dh wants to visit spring training next year and catch a couple of games that the Cardinals are playing in. So extra space may be limited.

Hope everyone has a great day.

I just looked at the Disney Cruise website and it looks like the prices are really going up for this cruise. If you have friends or family wanting to join they probably shouldn't wait too long. The three night before and after us isn't bad, but this one must be booking up fast. Glad I have my prices locked in!

Its just us going. Dh husband thinks its strange the way Disney prices its cruises, before we booked I kept telling him we need to make a decision before prices go up. He thinks they should get cheaper the closer we get not more expensive. We booked one year out, people think we are crazy for planning a vacation a year from now, but I know that its has to be done to get a good price.

myself and my 14 year old {he will be 15 then} are booked on this cruise. we are also booked on the march 10 btb to make it a seven day cruise. when time comes closer ill see if we can do both or we may just cancel the 3 day and do a day at wdw after. really glad ive booked both because they said both sailings very full already. they did manage to get me the same stateroom number on both sailings but it sure wasnt easy. they worked a long time to do it. also just in 7 days the price of both cruises seems to have gone up. im glad i did it when i did. hope to get to know all of you and the closer we get can make some plans for the dis group for this cruise. anyone else from canada?we are from new brunswick.

I have a friend and her son (who will be 17) that are cruising with us who are originally from Canada (but now live here in the US).

I can't wait to see the new teen area (hope they late parents in on the first day, that is what they did on the wonder, and after that we couldn't go in). But I want to see it!

It is so hard to believe the cruise if filling up so fast so early!
