March 31 - April 7th - NWK - Tampa $99 Jet Blue

**************I edited my original title. I was looking to fly NWK-MCO on the 31st - 6th, but instead we're going NWK - Tampa from the 31st - 7th for $99 each way!!! ***********


Is anyone else pricing out airfare for the week before Easter from Newark Airport?

I've tried to search Newark, Phila, LGA, etc....and can't get a seat for less than $450!

I can get a flight from Trenton - Boston- Orlando for $240 w/taxes however it's an 8 hour trip and it's flying on those small planes!

Has anyone gotten a decent flight for that time frame or will I just have to sit tight and wait/watch like the rest of those who want to travel the week leading up to Easter???

We are not travelling at this same time, but out of the same airport. We have found that everytime we first look into airfare for our trip-the fares are just ridiculous. (For our Feb. 07 trip it started out $229 one way/ per person...Just booked 2 weeks ago for $79 one way/ per person) So I say, hold on..check the websites twice a day (early am, and late evening). My only thought is BE READY TO BOOK AS SOON AS THE RATE GOES TO A PRICE YOUR EXCITED ABOUT! My experience has been, You snooze you lose!

Do you have much date flexibility? Any better fares on neighboring dates?

Not sure about Easter but for choice Thanksgiving dates as of a few years ago, Delta's best fares were at IPO. There were ups and downs thereafter but still high overall.

Sometimes (at least on Delta) if there is a schedule change (ya' know, the kind that loses your seat assignments) some cheap seats might appear.

Spring Break out of the NE is *always* going to be high -- that is peak demand time -- only Thanksgiving and Xmas are more popular.

If you can find any fare you can live with, grab it.

Alot of NE schools, esp in NJ get the week before Easter off!

We got ISP to MCO for $1000 for the three of us - still high, but much better than the $1800 originally quoted. We are taking Southwest. I just saw that they have a sale going on now, so if you can go from Long Island, check it out. By the way, we are going 3/30-4/9.

Yes, this is the week my 5 year old will be off from school.

I've been going to Florida for many years though, not always at Easter, but during Spring Break in Feb or March, and I never remember the prices being this high. I can buy a ticket today to go to Florida over Christmas for $245 through Delta.

PHL or ACY is an option, but the flights are all over $350 so driving the extra time to get to one of those airports really isn't worth it to save $75.

I guess i'll keep watching and waiting!!!!

Edited to add I have a little flexibility w/the dates, the 30/31st and the 6th or 7th.

Today I booked NWK - Tampa for 3/31 - 4/7 for $99 each way on Jet Blue.

I still can't find anything from NWK - MCO for less than $400 without stops. I don't mind the 1 hour drive to/from Tampa as long as we can fly out of Newark.
