I was all hyped up for this 3-day trip to Universal! Spring Break had finally approached after weeks of counting down. I was ready to have some fun at the parks with no worries of getting up at 6:00 in the morning the next day, or last minute homework assignments I had previously ignored. This was a stress-free trip!

DAY 1
I got up around 6:00 AM for the last time for a week, as my parents and I headed to Orlando. We started out at Men in Black. I saw a lot of people I know over there. They were anticipating large crowds for the last day of Mardi Gras. I maxed out a few times, and then we made our way to Jaws.

A group of cheerleaders (middle schooled aged, who were down for some competition held at the WWWWSS stage...*blech*) sat behind us. This was the first time my parents and I sat in the front row on this ride, and found it excellent for our whole acting bit that we do. The cheerleaders carried on too, and people just got a kick out of all the screaming and carrying on from us, and those girls.

I decided to walk over towards New York. My parents wanted to see a Blues Brothers Show. It was a while before the show when my mom and I decided to look around the Twister store to pass time. Heading back towards Blues Brothers, I caught glimpse of the Ghostbusters Show stage, and saw a banner hanging down about some Invention Exposition. What? I walked down to see show times were still the same. I turned and looked to my left. I saw the gates were open, and some tents were propped up. Various people were taking turned out a 4 wheel scooter thing, including the Jimmy Neutron character. I watched as confused tourists made there way through the gates, and then wouldn’t return for another 15 or more minutes later.

I talked to the sound guy for a while, about what was going on over there, and soon it was about the 15 minute mark before the Ghostbusters Show was to begin. The banner was rolled up, and everything appeared back to normal. I saw the first Ghostbusters Show, and shortly after Keriann called to see who was working. I had her talk to “Bob,” who explained “her boy” wasn’t there. LOL I then went with my parents to check out the Invention Exposition....something to pass the time before the next show.

I have to say I was impressed! From rotating outlets, sideways bicycles, to Foot Flushers! Um...yeah... :) I even met someone from the town where I live (which is VERY ironic, figuring that my town is pretty small, and basically unheard of). I got back to the Ghostbusters Show stage around 10 to 15 minutes before show time. I saw another show, and was starting to feel more......hyper? I just felt like acting crazy....and dancing like an idiot is how I do that. LOL! So after the show was over, I was dancing like an idiot. I was embarrassing the two girls, Tabi and Amber, whom I was standing with, until I received until call from Keriann. Then Keriann, her mom, and I got lunch.

We headed to our spot for the Mardicade, and saw Tabi and Amber nearby talking to a guy on the stilts The guy was dancing. Tabi and Amber saw me as my eyes grew wide, and I ran and sat my things down. I started dancing with him. LOL I decided to sit down a little while later, and he complained that I disappeared so soon. We decided I’d dance with him again later.

After the Mardicade, Keriann and her mom wanted to go to the Invention Convention to see the Foot Flushers. I told them I was given Mardi Gras beads from them, and so they insisted on going. LOL. We went, and Keriann and I were declared Foot Flushers. We later found out “Bob” was a Foot Flusher too. Foot Flushers Unite! lmao.

We saw the next Ghostbusters Show. One of the Ghostbusters was giving Amber, and a couple others hugs. I said innocently, “Oooh! Is it free hug day?” LOL He said, sure, since it was the last day of Mardi Gras. Keriann and I both got hugs. It was funny.

Keriann and I saw the last Ghostbusters Show, and then talked a bit to GIO2 before we ran over to the Beetlejuice’s Graveyard Revue for the 6:15 show. On the way, I ran into my dancing stilt-walker buddy! We danced for like 5 minutes in front of everyone. He shook my hand, and I continued on to the show. The show was great, and I’m glad to say things were cleared up about something. Not going into that though. Did the Dracula get a haircut? Was glad to see the one bride, one I hadn’t seen in a while. She’s very talented.

Keriann and I then went to CityWalk for a little while, to pass time before the Mardi Gras parade. We got back well before the parade, and we hung out with Keriann’s mom, her sister, her sister’s fiancé, her sister’s fiance’s nieces, her sister’s fiance’s mom (right?), and my parents. Ugh...that was a mouth-full. lol. I decided I was thirsty, so Keriann and I walked around to find a concession stand. We saw an adorable little boy who wore shoes similar to Keriann’s. LOL I gave him one of the beads I got from the Mardicade earlier that day. After getting the drink, we headed back.

We’re the best! Well, according to Keriann’s sister’s fiance’s youngest niece. Hehe. It was an amusing time before the parade. During the parade was quite a bit more rowdy. Some teenage girls got in front of a group of girls that were around 8 years old, and so those younger girls got in front of us. Everyone threw beads to the youngest girls, so they got like fifty, and I got...eight? Oh well...LOL! A guy, in his forties or fifties kept running into my mom, trying to snatch beads. He even knocked my mom into me, nearly causing us to fall over. No apology or anything. Next time he tried to do that, my mom shoved back. He shoved her again, and she shoved back again. He finally moved by the time the next float came by. Thank God...

After the parade, we said “bye” to the others as Keriann, her mom, and my parents, and I went over to the large screen near the Ghostbusters Show stage, to watch the Donna Summer concert. Oh my God...this was probably one of the funniest things all day... Watching some of the guys to our right dancing...with boas, and with girls wearing rings on their ring fingers. The same girls danced with some other guy, and were even taking turns making out with him. Okay......but yeah, the boys with the boas...they were so funny!! Singing along, and twirling around...

We left after Donna Summer sang the “Hot Stuff” song. It was getting late, and the crowds were gigantic. We noticed some....interesting people amongst the rest of the people....even some creepy ones....(you know which ones I’m talking about Keriann....EEK!!!!!)

DAY 2
My parents started their day at Islands of Adventure, as I went over to Universal Studios. I think I went on Men in Black, but honestly don’t remember what I did. Expecting to see a different cast at the Ghostbusters Show than I did, I went to the mic check (though don’t get me wrong, it was nice to be able to say “hi” to these guys too. Just was hoping to talk to one person in particular about something). I saw a guy in green I hadn’t seen in the show before (Keriann and I think we have seen him previously though, just not in GB Show). I said “hi” to him, and the cowboy, and the others. Talked a bit to “Bob” again, and tried my best to hide the laughing at the goober’s hair....

I noticed a small bird hanging around inside the platform which some of the Beetlejuices jump off of. Some of the techs got some saltines for the bird. It wouldn’t leave, and if it did, it wouldn’t stray far. At first I thought it had a broken wing, but some of the techs were thinking it was either too small to fly, or just didn’t know how.

I then left the park, and met up with my mom over at the entrance of IOA. We headed back to Universal Studios, and walked around a bit. We got back to the Ghostbusters Show stage, and then Keriann and her friend Rodel joined us.

The Ghostbusters were so enthusiastic! The most I’ve seen them in a while. Each show they’d run down, and give people in the crowd “hi-5's.” We also saw a Beetlejuice we hadn’t seen play Beetlejuice in the show before. He was excellent!! So we saw the show, and then got lunch. Well....sort of. I didn’t even eat it. LOL We lost track of time, and left around 10 minutes until 2:00.

The guys gave “hi-5's” again, and Keriann and I decided to stick our hand out for a couple of the guys too. After the show, we hurried over to the Beetlejuice’s Graveyard Revue. We saw our favorite Wolfman! Keriann and I got our picture taken with Dracula, and then with Wolfman. Being silly, I danced like a dork in front of Wolfman, and joked, “I got moves!” I mean, think about it, dancing like a dork in front of a guy who can REALLY dance? LOL.

After that, Keriann and Rodel went over to Men in Black. I walked around for a little while before heading back to the Ghostbusters Show stage. People were sitting on the steps. Score! Keriann and Rodel met up about 5 to 10 minutes later. This time, when the guys ran through, the guy in green stopped right after he passed me and Keriann. He posted at us, as if wondering why we weren’t sticking OUR hands out. Oops, sorry ‘Zeddemore’!! lol

During the next show, Keriann and I stuck our hands out. The Zeddemore (guy in green) ran through, and gave us a “hi-5.” After he passed me and Keriann, he stopped and turned around. He came back to me, and gave me multiple “hi-5's.” It was funny. The last show was probably the best I’ve seen in a long time. I can’t explain it. The guys were VERY enthusiastic. I mean, of course they always are when it’s the last show of the day, but this was on top of the fervor from before. I must say I was very impressed with the guy in green. He did a very great job!!

After the last show, Keriann, Rodel, and I went over to IOA.

**Whoa...I went to IOA??!!**

LOL Anyway, because I had someone to actually go on a rollercoaster with me, I went over to Islands of Adventure with Keriann and Rodel. We went on the Hulk with about a 15 minute wait. After that, we used up film by taking silly pictures (some of which will be added to my website...lol!!!).

Keriann and Rodel used up some more pictures in CityWalk before they headed out. I met up with my parents before we headed to the hotel.

DAY 3
We got to the parks after 10:00, and went to Men in Black, and rode once. My parents and I were going to go on Jaws, but saw it had a 45-minute wait, so we passed. I got an Express pass for the Beetlejuice’s Graveyard Revue as my parents went on Back to the Future. I made my way to Street Breakz, and tried to pass time by writing in my trip report notebook, or looking through the pictures I got developed the night before.

It was about 15 minutes before Street Breakz’s show was about to start when I heard the Ghostbusters doing a mic check. Seeing if a certain person was there, I decided to go down. He was, and I talk to him a little bit, and said “hi” to the others. I looked at my watch and saw the Street Breakz show was starting shortly, so I told them I had to go....got request for Street Breakz pictures for my website, and needed a good spot to get the best photos possible.

Street Breakz was hysterical. It was a little bit different from the other shows I’ve seen, which helped make it more enjoyable. I met up with my parents who were able to catch the last act in the show.

My parents and I went to the Blues Brothers Show. My mom and I left a little early to go to the Ghostbusters Show stage. I saw the first show. The small bird was there again, and was walking around on the stage. Beetlejuice kept looking at it during his number. After the show, Beetlejuice tried guiding the bird back into the platform.

After the show, I went and saw the 1:15 Horror Makeup Show, which I hadn’t seen since last year...lol. My mom’s favorite guy in the show was there, so I finally got to see him. One of our other favorites in the show was there as well. It was great.

I headed over to the Ghostbusters Show, and got there about 15 minutes before show time. I saw the show, then met up with my parents at the Graveyard Revue. We sat behind the VIP row, which we found to have an excellent view...perfect for videotaping and taking pictures of the show!! And that’s exactly what we did! I enjoyed the cast very much.

After the Graveyard Revue, my parents went to Hard Rock Café for lunch. I went to Louie’s and got a slice of pizza and a soda. I was just relaxing until it got to be about 3:30 or so, and then headed over to the Ghostbusters show stage. I walked past the Mummy ride only to see a sign that read “Technical Rehersal.” Oh. My. God. The wait was only 30 minutes...but it was either miss a Ghostbusters Show, or miss the chance at such a short wait. I continued to the Ghostbusters Show stage, and got to my spot. I stood there for about two second before I turned right around, and ran straight towards the Mummy ride.

I went on Mummy. I was by myself, and they had not allowed for Single Riders at the time (dangit!). So I was stuck in the regular line for 30+ minutes.

I got up to the front, and a single rider got in front of me, and was sent to the first row. I then was sent to the first row. I watched, amused as the guy in front of her stared her down...tried to look scary. He kept asking her, "Is this scary enough?"

I then looked at the guy at the controls, to my right, and noticed he was doing the same to ME! This guy had the evil stare down much better than the other guy...kinda creepy. LOL I tried to ignore it, but looked back, and saw he was still staring at me. Again, tried to ignore it. Then I heard, "Even your Ghostbusters can't save you now..." That's when I realized this person knew who I was! I looked at the name tag. Turned out it was phamton's son!!! (Um....one of my ‘stalkers’ older brother....I talk to their mom online...her screenname is ‘phamton’)

After that, I quickly called my parents to brag. They had just gotten off Shrek. I met up with them, but my mom took off. I tried running alongside her to tell her what happened when I was in line, and what I thought of the ride...but it was no use; her mind was set on getting in line herself! My dad followed. It was still like 45 minutes until the last Ghostbusters Show, so I walked around, and then wrote in my trip report notebook. About 15 to 20 minutes before the show, I headed over. I was still exhilarated about actually getting to ride the Mummy. It was awesome!!

The last show was hysterical. Well...the audience was hysterical. I had to laugh because just hearing everyone getting into it. A bunch of Seniors were around...guess it was Senior Day or something...I remember this going on last year at Islands of Adventure. They kept hooping and hollering. I heard everyone get involved in cheering for the Ghostbusters. It was too funny!!

After the last show, I knew my parents were still in line for the Mummy, so I went on Jaws which had a 15 minute wait. It wasn’t as much fun being the only person “freaking out” but I still enjoyed it.

I met up with my parents and we headed home. *tear* :)

That was my 3-day Spring Break trip! It was lots of fun, to say the least.

Sounds like you had a great time
did you stay on site

i actually am looking forward to seeing the ghost busters show and keeping my fingers crossed to ride the mummy!!

lisa:wave:

Actually, we stayed at the Howard Johnson Universal. It's a bit farther away than Holiday Inn, Sleep Inn, and Fairfield Inn, but it didn't take us much longer to get there from the parks, and vice versa (a couple of minutes). :)

Hope you get to see both Ghostbusters and the new Mummy ride as well! ::yes::

Miss Clare. I tried to PM you before we left to tell you that I'd see you at the 3:45 GB show on Saturday, but your inbox was full. I wasn't sure you'd be there definitely, but we went anyway (arrived about 5 minutes late and were stuck in the back). I looked for the neon seat cushion and video camera, but we were too far back and there was too much of a crowd between us. We lingered for a bit, but still didn't see you, and we left.

I thought I saw you later, but figured that couldn't be you with a bunch of other girls and not at the Ghostbusters show (these girls had all gotten something to drink or light to eat and weren't saving seats for the show). I almost muttered, "Clare?" but didn't. When I post my pics, you'll probably say that you saw me and didn't know it!

Very possible!! I PM'd you back minutes after you PM'd me to explain I knew my inbox was full. I had cleaned it out, but you didn't PM me again!! lol I didn't bring my seat cushion with me...totally forgot...

when and about where did you see the group of girls? sometimes I'd find myself running late to save my spot...at one point I didn't get there until 10 minutes before the show or something! Some of the girls I may have been with: Keriann, very tall skinny girl, who posts here, so you'd see her pic in her banner. Two girls, one with long curly red hair, the other with long straight dark brown hair.

Don't quite remember where I saw everyone, but it was behind a food cart.

After I PMd you and realized your inbox was full, I went off line and wasn't back on line till our trip was over! Clean out your box girl!

Were you wearing a white shirt on Saturday?

I'm the one standing, and Keriann's the one with the longer hair. This pic was taken on Saturday.

No, I didn't see you. This girl was wearing a plain shirt and khaki shorts. Oh well. Sorry I missed you!

FlyFly, as always I loved reading your report. You have so much fun at all the shows! I love being crazy and screaming on rides. My husband and I have gone to parks without the kids and acted like nuts, screaming, acting terrified, and making funny faces for the pictures on rides. Those are the best times!

Sounds like a fun time am disapointed we missed mummy by 3 days u would have enjoyed the balack eye pease mardi gras night they had the crowd in stitches overe their disney comments
